https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0WByz1fDBA No leader treats you better than he perceives you. Peter Obi dares not appear in a debate or conference. He will lose his followers immediately . Because his followers are intellectually sound enough to rate him on that. It shows value for people, knowledge, education and what to expect in government beyond hooliganism and poverty weaponization. |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzzEbq9VkL8 A Chinese man won $30 million lottery jackpot and ensured he kept his identity a secret when he went to collect the money. He wore a yellow bird cartoon costume to the cash prize presentation ceremony in Guangxi because he did not want his family to know he won such a huge amount The man – identified by local newspaper the Nanning Evening News as Mr Li – won 219.4 million yuan on the Guangxi Welfare Lottery on October 20. "I have not told my wife or kid," Li told the publication, per a translation by The South China Morning Post. "I am concerned that they might feel superior to other people and will not work or study hard in future." On October 20, he bought 40 lottery tickets in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. He woke up the next morning to discover that his tickets had won. Li collected his check in Nanning, the southern region's capital, on October 24, per an article from the Nanning Evening News shared on social network Weibo. He said that he didn't leave the hotel that weekend out of fear that he'd lose his ticket. Li donned the bright yellow costume of Fudou, the lottery's mascot, to collect his prize and have photos taken. The publication reported that Li had been buying lottery tickets for more than ten years, and had only occasionally won small amounts of money. 2 Likes 2 Shares

We have never had it this way in Nigeria politics since our hard earned democracy, where a governor of a political party is giving out his support to a presidential candidate of another political party. God is great, our democracy is growing. This is how it's supposed to be, campaigning for individual competency not a political party. We will surely get it right come 2023. Let's continue to be OBIdient. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Z0An13o7W8 Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, says it is becoming difficult to convince Nigeria that his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), can rescue the country. Apart from the high rates of inflation, hunger and poverty, Nigeria is grappling with serious security challenges, ranging from Boko Haram insurgency in the North-east, violent Biafra agitation in the South-east, and kidnapping and banditry across the country. Mr Wike said the marginalisation of the minority ethnic nationalities in the country caused much of Nigeria’s challenges. He said it was becoming a “more difficult task” to convince Nigerians that the PDP can rescue the country. Mr Wike said this on Tuesday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, when the management of the New Telegraph newspaper visited him at the Government House to present its nomination of the Rivers governor as the Political Icon of the Year 2022. The transcript of the meeting is posted on Governor Wike’s Facebook page. “The problem in this country today is not only as a result of the banditry or kidnapping, no. Part of the issue that has to do with security is the issue of marginalisation. “And I continue to tell our people or those who believe that they are dominant, you need peace for you to preside over those who you think do not have the number. You need peace. If there is no peace, it will be difficult,” the governor said. Mr Wike and other governors who are his allies have been demanding the resignation of the National Chairman of the PDP, Iyorchia Ayu, to pave the way for a southerner to lead the party in order to achieve a “regional balance”. 1 Like 2 Shares

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_Iei_Wi3Ac Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi said the Federal Government has not shown compassion to the plight of flood victims across Nigeria. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbOyxLknr1Y “We want a Nigeria that we will show patriotism by caring for the people on everything. Look at the flooding that has happened all over Nigeria. As far as I am concerned, the Government of Nigeria has not responded adequately, they’ve not shown compassion,” the former Anambra State governor said on Tuesday during a visit to Makurdi, the Benue State capital. “Leadership comes with compassion, it comes with listening, it comes with understanding. Even those people in (Internally Displaced Persons) IDP (camps) how many people has the Federal Government come to visit. That is what you do, that is what shows you are committed.” Obi also said the ‘deal’ he has with some aggrieved governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) including Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue is to achieve a better Nigeria. “The only deal I have with them is that they are passionate about Nigeria,” Obi said. In the last one month, Obi had visited flood-ravaged communities in Benue, Bayelsa and a few others to commiserate with victims. He had tasked the Federal Government to be proactive in mitigating the effects of devastating floods across the country and declare an emergency. Obi had also called on his counterparts in other parties to suspend their campaigns and join him to help victims of floods across states of the federation. Floods have hit parts of Nigeria in the last two months with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) saying that about 2.5 million persons were affected and over 603 persons killed by the flooding caused by torrential rainfall of late. Houses and farmlands have been submerged in Lagos, Yobe, Borno, Taraba, Adamawa, Edo, Delta, Kogi, Niger, Plateau, Benue, Ebonyi, Anambra, Bauchi, Gombe, Kano, Jigawa, Zamfara, Kebbi, Sokoto, Imo, Abia States, and the Federal Capital Territory. The 2022 floods have attracted international “solidarity”. In a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, King Charles III sympathised with Nigeria over the “devastating” incidents. 1 Like 1 Share

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbOyxLknr1Y Following the suspension of the prolonged strike of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the authorities of the concerned universities have in the past two weeks announced the resumption of activities in the institutions. Many revised their academic calendars and ordered the immediate resumption of academic activities with the aim of covering the lost ground. For the eight months that the industrial action lasted, the striking lecturers were not paid their salaries. Until the National Industrial Court (NIC) ordered them to return to work, ASUU had cited that payment of the backlog as one of the conditions for suspension of the strike. However, after the Court of Appeal affirmed the order of the industrial court, ASUU advised its members to return to their duty posts, banking on the reported pledge by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, to ensure that at least parts of the withheld salaries are paid, among other promises. However, more than two weeks after the suspension of the strike, the lecturers confirmed to PREMIUM TIMES that they were yet to be paid. Students walking to and from at Tai Solarin University of Education, TASUED From the University of Lagos (UNILAG) to the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA), Bayero University Kano (BUK), Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), and Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), among others, concerned lecturers told PREMIUM TIMES’ reporters that they were not motivated to work. Many students have also said the long absence from school has quenched their passion and that they are finding it difficult to acclimatise again. But shop owners, artisans, and service providers on the campuses such as commercial transporters are glad that life is returning to the universities. Unmotivated staff, students Full academic activities have resumed in FUTA and some students have begun writing tests in preparation for their examinations which begin in two weeks, our reporter observed. But the students expressed frustration in getting back to their studies after such a long break in the system. A student of the Electrical Electronics Department, Segun Dairo, said he and some of his mates had lost the motivation for studies as they had taken up other activities while the strike lasted. “In the last eight months I spent my time learning skills related to my course and I was beginning to really settle into it when they called off the strike,” he said. “Some others went to do some work and we were earning money, so returning to school was difficult.” 1 Like 1 Share
