A court in Austria on Wednesday sentenced a man who sent his ex-wife 7,648 text messages within six weeks to six months in prison.

The 33-year-old Romanian national, was charged with stalking and making dangerous threats.

The man and his wife separated earlier this year after six years of marriage.

The man reacted to the break-up by sending a barrage of messages, including 50 in which he threatened the woman.

The ex-wife told the court she did not believe he would actually attack her.

The judge asked the defendant how he had managed to send so many messages – an average of about 190 a day – and keep his job at the same time.

He wrote mostly at night, the man answered the judge.

Now that she has joined one of the most famous families in the world, she will have to get used to being surrounded by top security at all times. Heading out for a jog in the park by herself will have to be a memory of the past.

No more social media


In the last few years, Meghan has racked up three million followers on Instagram and used to regularly post images from her day-to-day life. Meghan will now join Harry, Kate, and William on the Kensington Royal social media accounts that update the public with their charities. It was only on the official account that Meghan and Harry posted their engagement shots and revealed their wedding date.


No voting, no politics


Meghan applied for British citizenship ahead of the wedding, but that doesn’t mean she’ll get to vote in elections. According to the parliament website: “Although not prohibited by law, it is considered unconstitutional for the Monarch to vote in an election.”


This may apply directly to the Queen, but the royal family is said to all abide by this. A Buckingham Palace spokesperson told Newsweek in June 2017 that members of the royal family do not vote “by convention.”


Once, Markle was vocal about her political opinions. She posted a photo of Hillary Clinton on Instagram, and wrote a long message in the vein of “I’m With Her.” She also spoke out against Brexit. Now that she’s a royal, she’ll no longer be able to voice her political opinions.

No more dark nail polish

According to OK! Magazine, colored nail varnish and fake nails are not part of the royal etiquette, and are typically considered to be “vulgar”. The Queen favors a nude shade, and only on special occasions. For public duties, the Duchess of Cambridge and the Queen are always pictured with au naturel nails, and there is a strict reason for this.


Signing autographs

No member of the royal family will give you an autograph as royal protocol bans them from scribbling their signature for other people. Just like the Queen, Duchess of Cambridge and Princes William and Harry, Meghan now has to politely tell people she won’t sign their autograph books or even body parts. However, they are allowed to sign visitors books when on official engagements as well as official documents.

Go to bed before the Queen

When the royal family members are in the same house or castle, often it’ll be down to the Queen to determine when the night is over. Apparently, other members don’t “feel right” about excusing themselves to go to bed before the Queen is done for the night.

She can’t cuddle with her dog, Bogart

Back in Canada, Meghan Markle had two beloved rescue dogs: Guy, a beagle, and Bogart, a Labrador-shepherd mix. Unfortunately, Bogart was too old to make the journey to London and adjust to a new home. Bogart is living with Markle’s friends back in North America, whereas Guy gets to live in London and prance among the royal corgis.

She can’t post travel photos onto her lifestyle blog

Meghan’s lifestyle blog, The Tig was a “hub for the discerning palate — those with a hunger for food, travel, fashion, and beauty.” But now that she’s a royal, she can’t have the Tig. She shut down the blog in 2018, along with her social media accounts. During her engagement photo shoot, Markle broke with tradition, big time. She didn’t wear nude stockings. And, as royal correspondent Victoria Arbiter recently told Insider, “You never see a royal without their nude stockings.” Of all the rules, this is one that the Queen is a stickler about. “I would say that’s really the only hard, steadfast rule in terms of what the Queen requires,” Arbiter said. As of May 2018, Markle has incorporated nude tights into her wardrobe. The royal transformation has begun.

After months of speculation, Meghan Markle’s wedding dress was finally revealed. As reported by Ellen Manning for Yahoo News UK, the 36-year-old bride is wearing a white gown designed by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy, with a sparkly tiara for her wedding to Prince Harry today.

“Keller was named the first female Artistic Director at the French fashion house last year,” Manning reported.

According to a statement released by Kensington Palace, Meghan first met the designer back in early 2018 to collaborate on a ‘timeless’ and ‘elegant’ gown and also wished to highlight the success of the leading British talent by wearing the brand for the high-profile event.

The couple held hands and exchanged smiles during the ceremony.

After saying their vows and exchanging rings, they were pronounced husband and wife by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

A Liberty Television journalist, Aminu Nurudeen, suspected to have posted the viral video showing the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, struggling to read a speech at a public event in Kano, has gone into hiding.

Impeccable sources told reporters that the Kano State Police Command invited the reporter to its office immediately the video went viral. The video, shows the IG struggling to read his speech at the inauguration of the Police Technical Intelligence Unit in Kano, Kano State on Monday.

It was learnt that Nurudeen’s whereabouts had been unknown since the Kano State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Musa Magaji Majiya, invited him on Thursday.

Sources said the police authorities were upset with the journalist because he had allegedly disobeyed a directive by the Kano State Police Command to journalists present at the event not to report the IG’s blunder or make the video public.

According to sources, the IG’s blunder brought an abrupt end to the event, leading the police chief’s handlers to hurriedly usher him away from the venue of the event.

The viral video showed the IG delivering an incoherent speech, which had since exposed him to public ridicule.

In a part of the transcription of the footage, Idris said, “I mean, transmission, I mean effort, that the transmission cooperation to transmission, I mean transmission to have effect, ehm, apprehend, I mean, apprehensive towards the recommendation, recommended formation effective and effect, I mean, apprehensive at the transmission of…and transmission and transmission for the effective in the police command.”

Voice of Liberty had posted the video on Wednesday. It was gathered on Friday that the IG was embarrassed by the trending video and had ordered an investigation into its release.

In the video, the police boss stumbled over nearly every word in the address, pronouncing transition as transmission and generally bungling his remarks.

The over two minutes video showed Idris apologising to the audience intermittently as he struggled to read the speech which appeared to be a few pages long.

As he battled to read the speech, a senior police officer moved to his side to assist him, but he still flunked the speech.

A source said that the IG explained away the video to his officers, describing it as doctored.

“He has however ordered an investigation into the leakage of the video but we are watching to see how he intends to deal with the individuals behind the viral video without further embarrassing himself and the force,” a senior police officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told one of our correspondents.

It was gathered that detectives were using the police technical platform to track the original source of the video on social media.

It was learnt that bloggers that posted the video might be interrogated by the police for allegedly “peddling a doctored video meant to cast the IG in bad light and embarrass the police leadership.”

Idris, in an interactive media chat on the police Twitter handle, Nigerian Police @PoliceNG #Askthepolice, had also told Nigerians that the video was doctored.

“Yes, it was doctored,” he said in response to a question from a twitter user who wanted to know why he bungled the speech.

The mood at the Force headquarters on Friday was solemn as policemen believed the video was sponsored by the enemies of the IG.

“I believe the IG may not be the most intelligent officer, but he is capable of presenting coherent speeches,” a Deputy Superintendent of Police who also spoke on condition of anonymity said.

The police spokesman, Jimoh Moshood could not be reached for comments as he did not respond to calls.

He had yet to respond to a text message as of the time of filing this report.

Nigerians react to IG video clip

Nigerians have, however, reacted to the video.

A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, in his reaction to the video on Twitter, urged Nigerians to pray for Idris.

He said, “Our IG of Police needs prayers and we must treat him with compassion. What happened to him whilst reading his infamous “transmission” speech was not ordinary. He is the victim of dark spirits and satanic forces. We must not gloat over it or laugh at him. Instead we must pray for him.”

But the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Diaspora Matters, Abike Dabiri, on Twitter defended the IG, saying, “This video is definitely doctored.”

Nigerians however asked Dabiri to prove her assertion by posting an original video.

A former head of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Joe Abah, said the IG might be suffering from dyslexia.

@JoeAbah, he tweeted, “If this video is genuine, I’ve been advised the IG may be dyslexic. If that is the case, it is no laughing matter, and not something he should be ridiculed for. A lot of kids are dyslexic. We must ensure that they are not bullied or stigmatised. They too can become IG of Police.”

THE Nigerian movie industry, yesterday, was thrown into mourning as popular actress, Aisha Abimbola, reportedly died in a hospital in Canada.

Abimbola, also known as Omoge Campus following the role she played in a Yoruba movie, Omoge Campus, is said to have died from breast cancer, though the cause of her death is yet to be revealed by her family.

Colleagues pay tributes:

Her colleague, Bisola Badmus, broke the news of her death on her Instagram page.

Breaking the sad news, Badmus wrote: “Unquestionably God RIP Omoge Campus.” She also shared the picture of the deceased with the caption, “Gone so soon RIP omogecampus.”

Paying tribute to the late actress, Badmus wrote: “I’m still in shock as I woke to hear this sad news. I remember we were together in New York in November 2017 and we had a great time together. We might not be too close but we got along every time we met. Continue to rest in peace Aisha Abimbola Ibrahim.”

Other colleagues of the deceased, including Ronke Odusanya, Biodun Okeowo, and Odunlade Adekola, have also expressed shock over Abimbola’s sudden demise.

According to Opeyemi Aiyeola, “this is too painful to bear. Seeing your pictures all around just makes me cry the more. Aishat Abimbola, it hurts me a lot to hear about your sudden death. May your soul rest in perfect peace.”

Ayo Adesanya said: “I did not see this coming, so sad, heavens gained another angel.

“The last time we went out I had no idea you were fighting so much, am so sorry dear, you fought to the end. May your soul rest in peace.”

For Pasuma, Omoge campus has left a void no one can fill. “There are not many in the world like you and today the earth mourns the loss of an angel. This is beyond us, but who are we to question the giver of life.”

“It feels so unbelievable hearing this now. I don’t even know what to say, God grant her eternal rest and keep her children from vultures of this earth,” Bimbo Thomas wrote.

Abimbola featured in indigenous and non-indigenous productions such as “No Pain, No Gain,” “Awerijaye,” “So Wrong So Right,” “Omoge Campus,” “Kamson and Neighbours” among others.

Edo born veteran actor, Paul Obazele, has disclosed why Nigerian reality TV show, Big Brother Naija should not be promoted.

Obazele expressed his dissatification in an interview with Punch.

The actor says the reality show has nothing to add to the development of the Nigerian youth other than sex.


Some housemates in the just concluded 2018 Big Brother Naija reality show were involved in sexual activity.



The veteran said, “I don’t like Big Brother; why would I celebrate corruption? Do you want to tell me that to become a superstar, you have to be having sex in toilets? What are they depicting? There are so many reality shows that they can do.


“It is called cultural dislocation, bringing in the white man’s culture into ours. Sex is nothing to them. The most decent woman I have seen in the years of my travelling is the Nigerian woman. Sex is nothing to other African women, this is the truth.


“Why would I bring in a group of young people between the ages of 18 and 26 and make sex the topic of the day? What did we learn from the show and today, some people are parading themselves as stars. It is nonsense.


“There are so many reality television shows they can do; they can send some people on internships but then they were able to cajole Nigerians who have small minds who think about sex always and they started sending text messages to vote.


“At the end of the day, they were able to rake in more than N350m. If the organisers of the show made that amount of money, how much is the N25m they are giving the winner, it is a stipend to them. We are gullible.

Rihanna's home was broken into by a suspected stalker who allegedly spent 12 hours inside, US prosecutors say.


Eduardo Leon, 27, has been charged with stalking, first-degree residential burglary, vandalism and resisting arrest.


Rihanna was not home at the time of the alleged incident in Los Angeles on 9 May. Leon, from Fullerton, California, is due to appear at the Foltz Criminal Justice Centre on Monday.

The suspect is accused of hopping a fence and entering a house owned by Rihanna in the Hollywood Hills.


He allegedly spent 12 hours inside the home and was arrested the next day after being discovered by the singer's assistant. If convicted, Leon faces a possible maximum sentence of six years in prison.


The case is still being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Dino Melaye, senator representing Kogi west, has just been admitted into Zankili Medical Center, Mabuchi, in the federal capital territory (FCT). He was said to have been brought into the hospital after sustaining injuries in a bid to escape.

The hospital ambulance brought him at the hospital around 4:25pm, after which he was admitted into the emergency unit. There were no security operatives when he arrived.

It was learnt that the senator was reportedly being led to court by the policemen on Tuesday afternoon when he attempted to escape. It was gathered that the police vehicle carrying Melaye turned to an unknown location, around Area 1, Abuja.


Unconfirmed reports have it that they had manhandled him and had planned to take him to Kogi, his home state. Melaye was said to have immediately jumped out of the vehicle, sustaining injuries in the process.

A man who followed the ambulance that conveyed the senator to the hospital said he witnessed the “drama” leading to the injury.

Addressing journalists at the hospital, the man simply identified as Peter said: “I was there at Area 1 when the police vehicle stopped somewhere and amid the confusion, there were shouts of ‘shoot him, shoot him’.

“He has been saying it that they want to take his life and we can see that now. Yesterday, about 200 policemen were in house. They were there till this morning. When he came out, he told them ‘okay, I’m going to go with you people to the police station.’ That he is not a criminal and that they don’t even have any arrest warrant on him. But he followed them.

“It was later this afternoon, while he was being taken to court, around that Area 1, the crowd had gathered and the police officers were there with him. I don’t know if he was pushed out of the vehicle or not but amid the confusion, they later moved him from there.”

Melaye has been having a running battle with the police lately.

Security operatives on Monday laid siege to his house after he was detained at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, and prevented from travelling abroad. The police had earlier declared him wanted over allegations of supplying arms to crime suspects. The police are yet to release any official statement regarding the recent developments.

Popstar, Tiwa Savage and Wizkid have had history working together. From “Bad” to “Ma Lo“, these two artistes have always brought fire whenever called upon and their body of work looks in sync.

They were at the Warri show together and some other places where they performed “Ma Lo” together. And at GidiFest that confirmed something is going on behind the scene, when Wizkid kissed Tiwa Savage live on stage!!!

Be reminded that Wizkid impregnated his manager, Jada P who was 33 at the time. Tiwa is 34, anything might have happened between these two and don’t be shocked if later this year we hear Tiwa Savage is expecting a baby.

A Redeemed Christian Church of God(RCCG) member identified as @Villageparrot on Twitter, took to the platform to call out the General Overseer of the church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye over the controversial tithing issue.

According to the Twitter user, Pastor Adeboye is a fraud.

He further stated that spiritual leader, Guru Maharaji will make heaven ahead of some of the acclaimed annointed pastors.

What would it take Pastor Adeboye on one night to ask congregation to donate a total of N500m to build hospitals, skills development centers, sports centers, schools for IDP camps?

What would it cost Pastor Adeboye to have a special outreach to help residents of IDP Camps? What much better way to preach the love of Christ is there than to do something for the less privileged?

The other day Pastor Adeboye announced 2 million people should be fed every Sunday. There’s a difference between feeding 2 million people and feeding 2 million HUNGRY people. But barest minimum Twitter said that was enough.

Only thing Pastor Adeboye knows how to do is stand on that pulpit to ask people to donate billions of Naira to build more church branches. Please, how is this any different from a business model?

Of course you’ll be right to say “taking care of IDP Camps is government’s responsibility” …but, the Bible didn’t teach that we should leave kindness and humanity to government, so…

I read my Bible properly, through and through. I attend RCCG and I am telling you that Pastor Adeboye declaring non-payment of tithe as the ticket to hell is FRAUD!

I know many of you will come and say “How do you know Pastor Adeboye is not doing this already?” My answer is NO! In furtherance, don’t be a fool to defend a pastor that doesn’t even know your name.

It’s time everybody came to full appreciation that churches in Nigeria are business establishments set up to extort the poor and hopeless.

“If you give your tithe, the windows of heaven will open to you…” IT IS A SCAM! How many rich men of this world give tithes? Dangote dey pay tithes? Okay, I know you’ll say devil gave them that money. Shut up!

If Jesus Christ was in Nigeria, would he ignore the IDP Camps and not bring good tidings to them? Aren’t they our brothers, sisters and neighbors? Why can’t Pastor Adeboye say “okay this month, we are raising N500m for our kinsmen in IDP Camps”?

Pastors acquiring private jets, building mansions, amassing stupendous wealth, but they’re teaching the poor masses “Heaven is your goal and home, this world is a journey” Isn’t that fraudulent?

People at the scene of robbery incident in Offa on Thursday

Death toll in Thursday’s robbery attack in Offa community area of Kwara State has risen to 30, according to a report by Channels Television.

Robbers numbering close to 30 had hit the town and raided five commercial banks in the Owode Market Area of the town in Offa Local Government Area of the state.

The attack lasted for hours and left the banks damaged with many more injured. The armed robbers were said to have made away with several millions of naira from the banks.

Initial reports put the death toll at between 12 and 15, but the figure has risen significantly.

Nine police officers were among those killed.



Channels Television gathered that the gunmen arrived the town in seven vehicles and stationed themselves in each of the banks around 4:30 pm.

At the General Hospital Offa, one of the medical doctors revealed that 21 bodies were brought into the facility and nine of them were police officers.

The doctor on duty at a private hospital also in the town also confirmed the death of three victims while one was on admission.

Some residents in the area described the robbery as bloody and called for more security presence in the town, saying the incident has become an affair of every five years.



Meanwhile, the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, has condemned the attack as a wicked act perpetrated by cruel individuals.

“Yesterday’s savage attack on unsuspecting citizens and establishments in Offa LGA that led to significant loss of lives and injury is a despicable act committed by cruel individuals.

“Make no mistake, there will never be any valid grounds or rationale behind such violence that has left many families without their loved ones — and one more community in grief and shock.”

Details have emerged how a Danish citizen, Peter Nielsen allegedly killed his Nigerianwife, Zainab Ali-Nielsen, popularly known as Alizee and her 4-year-old daughter, Petra in Lagos.

According to the late singer’s sister, younger sister, Madaki Gift in an interview with NewsGuru, Gift attested that she heard the victim screaming for help before she was killed.

She said, ‘My name is Madaki Gift I am Zainab’s sister, the late Zainab who died. It just happened over night when she finished preparing the food for her husband. “The housemaid went to her room and I was the last person to leave the kitchen. So after a while , there was a fight between both of them and she was just shouting “Help Help!! “I woke my junior sister up asking her if she heard any noise, later I saw the man hitting her head on the floor.

“I tried to help but he locked everywhere, there was no way for me to run and call people to come and help.

“This was around 4am In the morning, by the time we got there later in the morning she was dead.”

Following the arrest of Peter, the bodies of Alizee and her daughter have been deposited at a mortuary. The Kogi-born singer was reportedly signed to an Asian record label, Petra Entertainment in 2017. It was learnt that the record deal package included a brand new Ford explorer, a house in Banana Island and international distribution with affiliates of her record company in Asia.

Meanwhile, the late singer’s record label has issued a statement urging the Nigerian Immigration Service to be on the alert.

The statement partly read, “Petra Entertainment Limited has received with shock news of the sudden demise of our artist Nielsen Zainab Joy (Aged 29) and her daughter Nielsen Petra (Aged 4) at their Banana Island, Lagos home on the 5th of April 2018.

63-year-old Sergei Mavrodi, the founder of the main financial pyramid of the 1990s, died in Moscow hospital, Moskovsky Komsomolets reported.

According to the preliminary version, the cause of the death of the businessman known for his frauds is a heart attack.

According to the edition, on the night of March 25 Mavrodi was hospitalized from a bus stop located at Polikarpova Street. An ambulance was called by an accidental passer-by after Mavrodi complained of weakness and pain in his heart. After the arrival of the doctors Mavrodi was hospitalized in the city hospital No 67. The doctors could not save him, so he died this morning.

A boy had his face completely disfigured after he was attacked with an acid by a girl as a result of her unrequited love for him.

Pictures show Mahmudul Maruf, 17, from Dhaka, Bangladesh, lying in a hospital bed after the attack. His horrific facial injuries as a result of the attack can clearly be seen, with his skin red raw and peeling.

According to Metro UK, the acid was thrown in his face by a 16-year-old girl whose romantic advances he had turned down. The girl and her mother have now both been arrested by police in Bangladesh. Mahmadul’s mother joined him in hospital, where he revealed the horrendous damage caused by the acid attack.


He suffered most of the burns to his face, but also had injuries to his shoulder. Local media reports the boy was on his way home from a night out with friends when he was confronted by the girl. She had allegedly been chasing the teenager for months despite him repeatedly turning her down. After confronting him, she threw the corrosive liquid straight at his face. She was reportedly arrested a day later.

This is the story of another transgender known as Golden, who was born as a male but has decided to transition to become a female.

Yes, she looks like a girl now and I am sure if you come across her in town, you wouldn’t know she was once a man. Speaking to Ghone News, Golden says, she started by cross-dressing as she couldn’t fit in with boys. She feels she’s a girl trapped in a boy’s body.

Zambian authorities on Saturday deported controversial South African dancer Zodwa Wabantu after authorities vowed she would not be allowed to perform because she dances without underwear, the dancer’s promoter said.

She had been billed to perform at an album launch later on Saturday evening, but was sent back when she landed in the morning at the Kenneth Kaunda international airport.

“I can confirm that Zodwa has been deported back to South Africa by the immigration department,” her promoter Lucky Munakampe told AFP, adding no reasons were given for her deportation.

Immigration department officials were not reachable on their phones for comment.

Zambia’s religious affairs minister Godfridah Sumaili told AFP last week that Zodwa would not be allowed to perform in the country.


“Zambia is a Christian nation where morality and ethics have to be followed. We don’t expect a woman to dance without underwear,” Sumaili said.

Zambia is a largely conservative country where the majority of people practice Christianity.

Last year the censorship board in neighbouring Zimbabwe barred Wabantu from performing at an annual carnival after a protest by a local actress.

A Kubwa Grade I Area Court, Abuja on Friday ordered that one Mohammed Nura be given five strokes of the cane, for giving false information to the police.

The judge, Mohammed Marafa, gave the order after the convict pleaded guilty and begged the court to show him mercy.

Marafa warned that the court would not be lenient with Nura the next time he was brought before it.



The prosecutor, Babajide Olanipekun had told the court that Nura deceived the police at Kubwa Police Station on February 26.

He said Nura falsely accused one Musa Frank of NEPA Local, Kubwa, Abuja of stealing a Bajaj motorcycle, an offence that contravened Section 140 of the Penal Code.

Nura had admitted guilt, saying it was a mistake.

Would you marry a dead person? It’s kind of a strange question to ask, I know, but it appears as though it’s a legally accepted practice in France.

When it comes to marriage it’s a common tradition for those exchanging marriage vows to pledge to stay married until “death do they part.” Once a partner in the marriage passes they become known as a widow or widower. If they were never married, even if they intended to marry, in most countries they are still regarded as being single and never married. But the law in France sees it differently. Since the 1950’s a person who’s partner has died has been permitted to marry the deceased person.

Why are you allowed to marry a dead person in France?

The best way to answer this particular question is to start with a little history. During WWI some women were permitted to marry soldiers who had recently died by way of proxy. This was a seldom used practice and very few women ever used this in practice. Fast forward to the 1950’s.

During that decade a disaster occurred in France where a dam had burst and 400 people had lost their lives (known as the Fréjus dam tragedy). One of the people who had died was a man who was engaged to be married. The woman who was left behind petitioned the French president, Charles De Gaulle, to allow her to proceed with her marriage plans. After several months, and massive support from the media, she was given permission to marry her dead partner.

A porn star sued President Donald Trump on Tuesday to declare a “hush agreement” over their alleged affair invalid because he never signed it, documents say.

Los Angeles lawyer Michael Avenatti posted on his Twitter account a copy of what appears to be the suit filed on behalf of the porn star who goes by the name Stormy Daniels. Her real name is Stephanie Clifford.

The hush agreement does “not exist, because, among other things, Mr Trump never signed” the document with a Superior Court of California stamp, the suit says.

It alleges she had an intimate relationship with Trump from 2006 to 2007, which she sought to reveal after Trump won the Republican Party nomination for president and other women claimed to have had sexual encounters with him.

With help from his lawyer Michael Cohen, Trump then sought to “aggressively… silence Ms Clifford as part of an effort to avoid her telling the truth, thus helping to ensure he won the presidential election,” the document says.

Cohen prepared a non-disclosure agreement, a copy of which is attached to the lawsuit and which required a $130,000 payment to be wired from a company known as Essential Consultants LLC to Clifford in return for her silence, according to the documents.

Using the pseudonyms Peggy Peterson and David Dennison, Clifford and Trump were to sign the agreement, along with Essential Consultants.

Days before the November 2016 presidential election which Trump won, Clifford put her name to the document, as did Cohen for Essential Consultants, it says.

“Mr. Trump, however, did not sign the agreement, thus rendering it legally null and void and of no consequence,” the document adds.

Cohen told US media last month that he paid Clifford $130,000, prompting her manager to suggest a non-disclosure agreement had been broken.

A senator, Shehu Sani (Kaduna-APC), has given some insights into why Abdullahi Adamu (Nasarawa-APC) was removed as chairman Northern Senators Forum.

Mr. Sani said about N70 million belonging to the group was claimed to have been carted away by monkeys in a farm house.

Mr. Adamu’s removal was announced in a letter read by the presiding officer, Ike Ekweremadu, shortly before the end of the plenary on Wednesday.

The letter signed by the forum’s Public Relations Officer, Dino Melaye, noted that Mr. Adamu was removed for ‘financial mismanagement and misadministration.’

Responding to questions on why the senator was removed, Mr. Sani said the financial mismanagement borders on a N70 million belonging to the forum.

He said the money was rumoured to have been carted away by monkeys in a farm house.

“There are some things some of my colleagues will not say but I’m not used to holding back. When we assumed office, Senator Ahmed Lawan tendered the sum of N70 million to the 8t Senate. That N70 million was money gathered from the 7th Senate. It was handed over to northern senators of 8th Senate. The rumours going round, which I don’t know whether it’s true but I believe other senators know, is the fact that there were allegations that some monkeys raided the farm house of some of the executives of the northern senators forum and carted away some of these money.

“I think, this country is becoming a huge joke. First of all, it was the rodents that drove away the president and then we now have snakes consuming about N36 million and now we have monkeys raiding farm house. So, they don’t want this to be said but I believe that we should be very clear.”

A teacher at Government Day Secondary School Sankalawa in Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State has allegedly flogged a student to death.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the incident was revealed on Wednesday by Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar-Gummi, Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly.

The deputy speaker, who spoke under matters of urgent public importance during the assembly’s sitting in Gusau, said that the house had received several reports on the issue.

According to him, another incident at Government Female Day Secondary School, Kwatarkwashi, had led to the injury of a student in the school after the Vice Principal allegedly subjected her to heavy punishment.

Gummi said: “These problems apart from discouraging our children from acquiring education, also revealed poor attitude to work on the part of teachers in this state.”

He urged the House to invite the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology to explain steps taken to address the issues.


The Speaker, Alhaji Sanusi Rikiji, described the actions of the teachers as unfortunate and vowed that the assembly would not allow the matter to pass.

“It is part of our responsibilities to ensure effective security and good learning atmosphere for our children for their future development, therefore, we cannot allow teachers to continue harassing our children from schools,” he said.
