It was earlier reported that Mr. Eazi claimed to have earned $6000 monthly as an Engineer at Schlumberger, before quitting the job to pursue a career as an artiste. The information was later falsified with the revelation that the singer only interned with the company, and never worked as a full-time Engineer with the international company.

The singer has now come out to confirm that he only interned with Schlumberger Company. Speaking on the $6,000 job he allegedly turned down for music, in a chat with Sunday Scoop, Mr Eazi said:


“I turned down the job; I didn’t say I had started working there. I don’t think there is anything wrong with being an intern.

I don’t have anything to gain by lying about such a thing. The truth remains that I was offered a job by Schlumberger, but I decided not to take it, but rather concentrated on my career. And that is a decision I’ve never regretted till date.”

Singapore on Thursday inaugurated its first female president amid stinging criticism that she is taking office without a vote.

Halimah Yacob, a former speaker of parliament from the Malay Muslim minority, won the presidency in a walkover after authorities decided her rivals did not meet strict eligibility criteria.

While the role is largely ceremonial, the president has veto powers on key government appointments and safeguards the country’s substantial financial reserves.

In her first speech as president, Halimah, 63, addressed the racial tensions that have sprung up as a result of the process and vowed to be president of all Singaporeans “regardless of race, language or religion”.

“I look forward to the day when we will no longer need to… have reserved elections, and Singaporeans naturally and regularly elect citizens of all races as presidents,” she added.

The president also pledged to be independent in exercising her custodial powers over the reserves, which are rarely tapped by the government.

Nigeria singer, Mr Eazi has revealed why he went into music.

In an interview with Beat Fm, the singer revealed he had to dump his job which paid him about six thousand dollars per month in order to find fulfillment in music.

According to him, his family hated him for leaving his job but love him now since his breakthrough after two first shows in London.

“After I came back from Ghana, I got a job in oil and gas in Port Harcourt that paid about six thousand dollars per month but I quit because I was not finding fulfillment in it. I mean it was the same thing everyday, the same routine over and over again.

“The decision to quit the job finally hit me when my boss’ wife left him even with all the money he had.

‘After I left my job, I got my Masters degree and with all that qualification, I started selling phones in computer village and everyone thought something was wrong with me.

A transgender teenager killed himself in his bedroom after coming out to his “supportive” family and friends, an inquest heard today.

Leo Etherington, born Louise, was found hanged in the room by his horrified dad, Martin Etherington, after he failed to come downstairs for dinner.

The hearing was told that the 15-year-old committed suicide on an afternoon in May when his family believed he was revising for upcoming exams.

It heard that he left a suicide note and had previously expressed anger at his school for not letting him change his name until he turned 16.

Mr Etherington, a lone parent after his wife died of breast cancer in 2013, said he was not initially worried when Leo didn’t come down for the meal.

In a statement, read out in front of Assistant Coroner Alison McCormick, the father said:


“I heard him start playing his ukulele in his room.

“It then went quiet and I thought he was studying for his exams.”
He said that when he rang a bell that the family used to call everyone to dinner, he was not concerned when Leo did not come downstairs. “I rang the bell and Robert [Leo’s brother] came down, but I didn’t hear Leo. I thought he might have been listening to something on his headphones,” he said.

The incident took place at Denver Health Medical Center between late March and early April, but it was not reported until a month later, according hospital administrators.

The Denver Police Department investigated the matter, but ultimately found that no crime has been committed and allowed hospital officials to discipline its snooping staffers internally.

According to a police report, between March 31 and April 3, five nurses working at an unspecified medical unit at Denver Health observed the generously endowed male patient while he was still alive but incapacitated, and also after he passed away, as The Denver Channel first reported, citing an anonymous tipster.

To satisfy their curiosity, the medical staff went so far as to open a body bag to ogle the late patient’s genitals for their size, and then talked about what they had seen among themselves, as a hospital spokesperson has confirmed to the station. Another nurse who overheard their exchange felt that it was inappropriate and reported it to her superiors on May 8.

A nail artist who has spent 23 years growing her nails which takes a week to paint, has been crowned with title of the world’s longest fingernails by Guinness World Records.

A nail artist from Houston, Texas, identified as Ayanna Williams, has been crowned with the title of the world’s longest fingernails by the 2018 Guinness World Records, and in total her nails measure more than 18 feet long, each of which is just under two foot long.

She has also revealed that the most challenging thing about having extremely long fingernails, which can take up to one week to paint, is pulling up her trousers.

Jyoti Amge, world’s smallest and shortest woman according to the Guinness World Book of Records, has finally tied the knot. Amge married the love of her life, a man who has promised to love her till the end of time.

Jyoti Amge who was born on 16 December, 1993, was on her 18th birthday officially declared the world’s smallest woman by Guinness World Records with a height of 62.8 centimeters (2 ft 0.6 in). Her restricted height is due to a growth abnormality called achondroplasia.

A 26-year-old woman has been left with her mouth melted shut and half-blind after her estranged husband allegedly bathed her with acid.

According to reports, the incident happened in the Tigray area of Ethiopia. On the fateful day, Atsede Nigussiem, was at home when she opened the door to find the man there.

He allegedly launched an attack with a corrosive substance that destroyed one of her eyes and ate through the skin on her head and legs, leaving her in agony.

The suspected billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans, has pleaded guilty to conspiracy and kidnapping before a judge of the Ikeja High Court.

Evans and five others were arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and kidnapping.

The judge ordered that all the male defendants be remanded at Kirikiri Maximum Prison while the female defendant, who pleaded not guilty to all the charges, be kept at the Kirikiri Female Prison.

He adjourned till October 19.

Earlier on Tuesday, a Lagos Division of the Federal High Court adjourned till September 5 to hear arguments from Evan’s lawyer and police lawyers on why he should not deliver judgment on the fundamental rights application brought by Evans.

Justice Abdulaziz Anka had initially fixed Tuesday to deliver judgment on the suit but a lawyer to the Inspector General of Police and the Nigeria Police Force, David Igbodo, appearing for the first time since the hearing began, said he had filed a counter affidavit before the court.

“It will be an injustice for judgment to be delivered without hearing our own side,” Mr. Igbodo, Commissioner of Police (Legal Section), said.

Later, when he spoke to journalists outside the courtroom, Mr. Igbodo said police investigation into the Evans’ case was “almost complete.”

“The case is a very controversial one, it is a sensitive case,” he said.

“The Inspector General of Police devoted time, efforts, intelligence, and strategies to ensure that he was arrested. He beat strategies for the past six years. When he was arrested, it took time for the police to complete investigations and very soon, Nigerians will be made to know what is the next line of action for Evans.”

Mr. Paul Osuigwe the Lagos Lawyer who was reportedly jailed one month for allegedly chasing his wife and children with cutlass has broken his silence by accusing his wife of attempting to destroy him all over again.

Women have faced a whole lot of discrimination in the workplace that men will never understand. We’re sexually harassed more often (79 percent of sexual harassment victims are female, while 17 percent are male, AWARE reports) we’re judged by what we wear, and, oh yeah, we’re paid less than men are (women of color face even worse discrimination in the workplace — according to American Progress, Hispanic or Latina women earned 54 percent of what men earned in 2013, black women earned 64 percent of what men earned that year, and white women earned 78 percent of what men earned).

A 24-year-old woman from London knows about this unfair treatment firsthand, since she was just fired from her job for being too attractive. We swear we didn’t just make that up.


Emma Hulse is a camera operator who freelances for TV companies in London, and when she arrived at a recent 8.5 hour shift at UNIT TV, she received a text from her agent telling her she was no longer needed at the job. That’s when she approached the manager, who accused her of looking like a model.


She was subsequently sent home, which is the first time she’s ever been asked to leave work because of her appearance. “I was wearing a lipstick, but from my perspective I was not inappropriate. I was wearing a shirt and trousers. I really didn’t think I looked inappropriate,” she said.

Humans can then use aldehyde dehydrogenase as a kind of clean-up crew, breaking down the acetaldehyde that’s sometimes considered a cause of hangovers, along with dehydration.
Seems pretty simple, no? It’s a fight between how much you can drink, versus how fast your enzymes can bust down your indulgences and their byproducts. But many factors affect certain people’s production of the two alcohol-crushing compounds:

• Alcohol dehydrogenase (AD) is, for reasons not wholly understood, more effective in men than in women. Young men, in fact, may have up to 70 to 80 percent greater enzyme activity in the presence of alcohol. But men’s AD effectiveness also drops off with age at a faster rate than in women, such that, by around 55 or 60, men may find themselves able to handle less alcohol than their female counterparts, all other factors being equal.

• A full stomach helps break down alcohol, but not because your food “soaks up” the alcohol. When you eat a big meal, your stomach’s pyloric sphincter, a kind of release valve into the small intestine, closes tightly. Your body knows that you’ve got food that should get a good going-over in your stomach before it heads straight to the high-absorption small intestine, so it keeps it there, and the AD in your stomach has more time to work on the alcohol. Drink on an empty stomach, and the liquid quickly makes it into the small intestine, where there’s more than 200 square meters of surface area for absorption into your body.

• Another big factor in alcohol absorption, and alcohol’s effects, is genetics. Your great-great-grandparents have a say in how buzzed your Friday night gets, for sure, but for roughly one-third to half of Asian drinkers, it’s more than a slight variance. Alcohol flush reaction, a flushing of the face when drinking, occurs because the enzyme “clean-up crew,” aldehyde dehydrogenase, is mutated by just one amino acid. That changes how effective its molecules are in bonding with, and busting up, acetaldehyde. With excess acetaldehyde in their system, those with a flush reaction get red-faced, and can experience heart palpitations, dizziness, and severe nausea in extreme cases. Your own genetic makeup of AD and aldehyde dehydrogenase affect your ability to break down alcohol and its byproducts in similar fashion.

• Don’t take aspirin before drinking, unless you love hangovers. Aspirin seriously cuts the effectiveness of your body’s AD enzymes. In one 1990 study, the average blood alcohol levels of those who took two maximum strength aspirin tablets before drinking were an average of 26 percent higher than those who were aspirin-free. Other studies have suggested even more impact on your body’s ability to break down alcohol. That also means more acetaldehyde in your system down the line, so you’ll learn your lesson quickly if you’re considering aspirin as a “helper.”

Every few weeks, it seems, a new study suggests a glass of wine, or sometimes any old drink, lengthens your life if you don’t overdo it. Plucking just one out of the pile, you’ll see that in Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research, researchers followed 1824 people over a total of 20 years, as they aged between 55 and 65. Of those who abstained entirely, 69 percent died. Among those who drank in “moderate” amounts, 41 percent died—which was 23 percent less than the “light” drinkers. Even “heavy drinkers” fared better than abstainers, with just 61 percent passing away during the study period.

How could a substance that everybody and their five brothers tell you to go easy on extend your life? Popular theories center on the antioxidants and resveratrol compounds found in wines, or on the studies showing alcohol as increasing levels of HDL (“good”) cholesterol.

The park, in South Korea, is called Haesindang Park and is unofficially known as “Penis Park” .

The Park is located at the fishing port of Sinnam on the eastern coast of the country and its most noteworthy feature is that the park is essentially an elaborate celebration of the erect penis.

David Meade who is a Christian numerologist has predicted that the world will end on September 23 and has prediction has matched that of stargazers who claim to decoded the Egyptian pyramids.

The stargazers said the Great Pyramid was a date marker of when the apocalypse would set in. In a report by Daily Star, Meade used bible verses to match the position of heavenly bodies and said a giant planet called Nibiru or Planet X will crash into Earth and the world will end.

An angry woman has called out the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), accusing them of refusing to return N24.7million deposited by a member suspected of fraud.

An aggrieved Instagram user @emilianhair, took to her page to air her grievances with the RCCG after allegedly being defrauded of about N100m.

According to her, about 24.7m was traced to an RCCG account, and even after the suspected fraudster confessed to have deposited the money in the church, they refused to return it.

Efforts to return the money have reportedly proved abortive, as the pastor claims the money had already been forwarded to the church headquarters.

Sharing the post, she wrote:

"Was defrauded by a member of the redeemed Christian church of God of over 100m...24.7million was traced to the church account, the man sent the said amount to the church in a week..which is questionable..he also bought them 18 seater brand new hiace bus...he suspect confessed verbally at the police station asking the pastor to help refund the money back.

Judging by the Instagrams Drake posted last night, two things are clear. First, he has no problem announcing his obsession with Drakkar Noir to the world. He wore a T-shirt emblazoned with the logo of the classic drugstore men’s cologne. (Fun fact: He also has a tattoo of the scent’s bottle.)


Secondly, Drake is still not over Rihanna, at least not according to his socks.

The rapper sported a colorful pair from Rihanna’s latest Fenty x Stance collection.

And don’t think it was just a random top-drawer choice, either. The socks were patterned with an image of Rihanna from the music video for “Work,” in which they both starred last year.
