A thief met his waterloo after he fell asleep during a robbery operation at ITV Zanibar presenter, Farouk Karim’s house in Tanzania.

The thief was subsequently apprehended and handed over to the Tanzania police command after he was bundled out of the car where he crashed.


According to journalist Karim, the thief had jumped over his gate, entered into his residence and stole his clothes and shoes.

After the operation, the thief made for Karim’s car where he dozed off. The journalist said he was shocked to the bones when he came out of his house to meet the thief in deep sleep inside his car.

The University of Ilorin has said it has yet to trace the academic record of Biodun Fatoyinbo, the embattled Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly.

It was learnt that the UNILORIN could not find the cleric’s name on its graduates’ list.



The Director of Corporate Affairs of the University of Ilorin, Mr Kunle Akogun, said they had checked their academic record unit in the registry and could not find the name of the pastor, who has been accused of sex abuse by Busola Dakolo.

He said, “I have not got any feedback yet from our Academic Records Office. We have been checking, but we have not got anything on him, probably if we know the year he was in the university or the year he graduated or his course of study, that would make it easy for us to trace his record.”

It was learnt that the record of Fatoyinbo had yet to be traced at the academic record unit of the registry.

However, it is believed Fatoyinbo attended UNILORIN but did not take his final examination papers for some reasons.

However, a source claimed he moved to Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, where he obtained a Higher National Diploma certificate. Unconfirmed reports claimed he attended University of Benin, Edo State after leaving University of Ilorin without completing his studies

Meanwhile, members of Ilorin branch of COZA seem not bothered by the rape allegation levelled against Fatoyinbo by Dakolo.

Members, who attended Wednesday’s service at the church opposite Mount Olives Anglican Church and Princess Luxury Suit on Pipeline Road, GRA, Ilorin, looked totally unruffled by the rape allegation.

1. How they met

Busola explained that she used to live in Ilorin with her family and she had gone home for the holiday when her sisters told her about a new gathering that was like an Hip-Hop church called the Divine Delight Club where young people gathered to worship God. Her sisters had convinced her to attend the gathering even though she had reservations about their style of worship.

Busola revealed that she had met Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo after she attended the club. She had introduced herself as a first timer at the gathering and after the pastor preached, he approached her and commended her boldness. They struck a conversation and he asked if she could do something at the next church meeting before she returned to school. Busola replied that she could sing and that was how he said he would help her rehearse.

2. The molestation

Busola explained that she had gotten close to Pastor Biodun and he became like a mentor and a father figure whom she trusted. She revealed that he came to her house in Ilorin one Sunday morning when she was alone with one of her sisters. Her mother had travelled with her junior sister. Busola explained that their house was a big duplex whereby someone upstairs would not know what is going on in other parts of the house. Explaining the ordeal with Pastor Biodun, she claimed that he came to the house that Monday morning, knocked on the door and said he was the one. When she opened the door, she claimed the pastor did not utter a word but just pushed her to one of the chairs around.

“Immediately I opened the door, he just pushed me. He didn’t say anything. He didn’t utter any word. He just pushed me to one of the chairs in the living room and I saw him removing his belt. I was like what…? , he said keep quiet, do what I want you to do and you’ll be fine”, Busola said.

She further explained that when she tried to react, he covered her mouth and had his way. She even added that he tried to force his way several times that blood even dropped on the floor.

3. The aftermath

After the pastor had allegedly carried out his intention, Busola explained that he left and came back with an already opened bottle of Crest, a soft drink, and made her drink it. She then explained that Pastor Biodun told her she should be happy a man of God did what he did to her.

“You should be happy I’m the one that did this to you”, Busola recounted.

4.The next church service

Busola claimed that after everything had happened and the pastor left, she cleaned up the blood, and had her bath several times that day. She also recounted that she was scared to tell her sisters due to the fact that the pastor used to preach about his past as a cult member. Despite the terrible ordeal, she explained that she still attended the church service the following Sunday with her sisters because they were workers and she had not told them what happened to her out of fear for her family's safety. According to her, Pastor Biodun’s topic for that Sunday service was God’s grace as he kept explaining that the grace of God covers all sins no matter what a person has done.

5. After the church service

Busola recounted that after the service, one of the protocols came to her and explained that Pastor Modele, Biodun’s wife, had requested for her help to take care of their newborn daughter. Obviously surprised, Busola said she turned to her sister and asked why the pastor’s wife would ask for her help and her sister allayed her fears saying it was normal for church members to go and help the pastor at home occasionally. Just as she was still discussing with her sister, she said Pastor Biodun came and said he would come and pick her to the house soon.

6.The second time

Busola explained that the pastor tried all he could to make her sleep alone in the guest room but she refused and she insisted on sleeping in their master’s bedroom with his wife and their baby. The next day when she was cleaning, she claimed that pastor Biodun smacked her backside and told her nobody refuses him. When it was time for her to go home, the pastor reportedly told his wife he was going out and said he would drop Busola at home. Busola claimed she tried to insist on going by herself but the pastor refused. The lady explained as they were driving to her house, the pastor took a detour and drove to an isolated place on the road where he molested her the second time. She explained that while he was driving to the secluded spot, he kept on muttering angrily about how she thwarted his plans the night before and how he owns her. Busola claimed the pastor dragged her out of the passenger side and dragged her to the bonnet of the car where he abused her the second time.

A 600-pound drug dealer is so morbidly obese he had to plead guilty to cocaine trafficking from the back of an ambulance. The emergency vehicle was driven up to the loading bay of Hamilton County Courthouse in Cincinnati, Ohio, Wednesday morning, with Kirk Lenell Smith slumped in a bed in the back.






Smith, 42, admitted cocaine trafficking and being a felon in possession of a gun during the bizarre hearing, which was attended by the Cincinnati Enquirer.


Explaining the decision to set up a makeshift court, Judge Tom Heekin said: ‘Moving Kirk Smith from the ambulance would endanger his health and well-being.’

Smith was hooked up to a blood oxygen monitor throughout proceedings.

He gave one or two-word answers to questions asked throughout the legal session.

Smith was offered the chance to make a statement, and attempted to do so, but was so unwell he was unable to speak.

Court reported Kevin Grasha stood next to Judge Heekin at the open doors to the ambulance to hear Smith get sentenced to two years jail.

Heekin stood with one foot inside the back of the ambulance throughout. Smith’s sentence was agreed on as part of a plea deal struck between Smith and prosecutors.

The obese criminal’s home was searched last April, with cops discovering a backpack containing cocaine ‘in an amount indicative of trafficking.’

They also discovered a loaded 9mm Kel-Tec gun. Smith was previously convicted of cocaine trafficking in 2009, and jailed for three years following that offense.

He has similar convictions dating back to 1999, according to court records seen by the Enquirer.

True love sees beyond the physical as a Woman with no arms and knees who was told she’d never lead a normal life is about to get married. 30-year-old, Jlissa Austin from Texas, U.S, – who doesn’t have arms or knees – was born with a condition she still has no name for. Jlissa has not only opened up her own hair weave business, but she is also about to get married.

According to metro, Doctors told her family she would never be able to walk or lead a normal life.

Even after all these years, Jlissa is unsure what has caused her condition but she has managed to get by – using her feet to brush her teeth and text with her phone.

Her symptoms were not aligned with a particular condition, doctors simply told her mum that Jlissa had a stunted growth and that she wouldn’t experience a good quality of life.




Proving them wrong, Jlissa and fiance Johnathan, who is a 5’6” able-bodied man, live together in Houston and are currently planning their dream wedding for the summer of 2019.

She said among all her achievements, she is happiest to have found her soul mate Jonathan whom she met 13 years ago.

The pair started off as friends all those years ago but eventually fell in love. Now they are excited to become husband and wife.






‘I didn’t think it would ever happen to me – meeting someone like this. It feels so good to know that Johnathan is by my side,’ Jlissa told BarcroftTV.

‘When people see us walking around together, some of them shake Johnathan’s hand and say “I salute you, you’re doing a good job”.

But we don’t experience issues with people judging our relationship too much thankfully. ‘We’re both really looking forward to our wedding now.’



Jlissa also added that she’d been really fortunate, especially in her childhood as she didn’t experience any bullying, with most children taking to her quickly because of her ‘doll’ size.

Now she also counts herself lucky as she can do lots of things by herself, with some help from fiance Jonathan.

‘The everyday tasks that I can still do; I brush my teeth, use my phone, work on a daily basis and go out and network myself,’ Jlissa added. ‘I can pick a lot of things up with my feet. On a good day, I am also able to take myself to the restroom.

Thomas Goodman molested a newborn baby for months starting when she was three weeks old until she was 18 months

AN EVIL paedo who molested a newborn baby for months collapsed in court when he was sentenced to 260 years in prison.

Thomas Goodman, 45, fell forward onto a table in the courtroom in Providence, Rhode Island as Judge John McConnell read out his sentence, which was 160 years longer than what the prosecutor asked for.

When he came around a few minutes later, Goodman groggily listened as he was handed eight 30 year sentences and one 20 year stretch that will be served consecutively.

Goodman filmed himself touching a newborn baby from when she was three weeks old to 18 months old, the Providence Journal reports.

He made thousands of clips of himself abusing the baby, as well as two other girls aged six and 12 before sharing them online for other perverts to watch.

Goodman was caught in May 2018 when his mobile was confiscated by bosses at the security company he worked at after he breached rules barring employees from using their devices at work.

The paedo’s bosses found his stash of child porn and promptly handed the mobile to the authorities.

Police established Goodman was in possession of about 7,800 abuse images and 370 child porn videos during a raid.

Of that sickening stash, at least 135 photos and 62 videos involved prepubescent children, from September 2007 to February 2018.

The vile man admitted to eight charges of production of child pornography and one count of possession of child porn.

Prosecutor Lee Vilker said his crimes were “by far the worst” he had ever come across.

Matthew Dawson, his lawyer, asked for his client to be given a 22-year sentence and claimed the paedo was also abused himself by a teacher when he was a child.

Moments before he was sent to jail he whispered: “I have no excuse for this.”

Judge McConnell agreed, telling him: “The only way I can do that is to be sure you never get out of prison again.

“I have no assurances you will stop.”

A former cobbler who has been dubbed ‘Uganda’s Ugliest Man’ has become a father for the eighth time.

Godfrey Baguma, 47, who is believed to suffer from a rare, unknown medical condition, and his wife Kate Namanda, 30, welcomed a baby girl.

Baguma won the less-than-favourable title in 2002, after he entered the competition to make money for his cash-strapped family.

Before his marriage to Kate, Godfrey had two children with his first wife – but their marriage came to an end when he caught her cheating with another man.

Describing how he wooed Kate initially, Godfrey said: ‘I stayed with her four years before her people knew where she was. I didn’t want them to see me until we had a child because they would definitely advise her to leave me.

‘She left me when she was six months pregnant but I think she later accepted her fate because she came back two months later’.



‘I told her that I didn’t choose to look the way I do and that if she feels I am a burden, she is free to leave me’.

The couple got married in 2013, and now have six children together – after their first child was born in 2008.

Ethan Bramble, 22, has had his eyeballs tattooed, his nostrils punched, his bellybutton removed, his tongue split, his labret (the area under the bottom lip) cut and each of his ears snipped so that half is missing.

A 40-year-old man, Reggies Chiyanike, is now battling for his life after he took car battery water upon discovering his wife with a lover.

It was reported that this is the second time that Chiyanike was consuming battery water after discovering his wife’s infidelity.

According to iHarare, Chiyanike’s wife cheating is well known to family and friends.

A relative of Chiyanike, who declined to be named said, “The wife is unfazed by the countless suicide threats by the husband and continues to cheat. In fact, her cheating has become more of a lifestyle than a hobby.

Proponents of same sex union have suffered a major defeat as a Federal High Court in Abuja has rejected their move to legitimize their activities in the country.

Justice Nnamdi Dimgba, in a judgment on Friday, upheld the decision by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to reject an application for the registration of a lesbian group.

The judgment was on a suit, marked: FHC /ABJ/CS/827/2018 filed by Pamela Adie, through her lawyer, Mike Enahoro-Ebah.

According to court documents, Pamela founded the group – Lesbian Equality and Empowerment Initiatives (LEEI) – sometime in October 2017, with the aim to advocate for the rights of people with same sex sexual orientation.

She subsequently applied to the CAC for registration, an application the agency turned down on the ground that it, among others, offends public policy.

Pamela then approached the court, by way of a fundamental rights enforcement application, contending the CAC’s decision amounted to a violation of her constitutionally guaranteed right to form and belong to an association.

She prayed the court for an order of mandamus, compelling the CAC to forthwith issue notice of approval for her group, the “Lesbian Equality and Empowerment Initiatives” for onward registration with the Commission.

Justice Dimgba, in the judgment on Friday, upheld the counter-argument by the respondent (the CAC), to the effect that its refusal to register the group was in compliance with Section 30 (1)(C) of the Companies And Allied Matters Act (CAMA) Cap C20 Laws of Federation of Nigeria 2004.

‎The judge said: “It is my view that, where either the proposed name of the company or its aims and objectives are caught by the provisions of Section 30 (1)(C) of CAMA, the respondent (CAC) is duly empowered to reject such an application for reservation of name or registration as it has done in this case.

“Section 30(1) (c) of CAMA reads: ‘No ‎company shall be registered under this Act by a name which- (c) in the opinion of the Commission is capable of being misleading as to the nature or extent of its activities or is undesirable, offensive or otherwise contrary to public policy.’

“There is no doubt that the applicant has the right to form or belong to any association of her choice as provided by Section 40 of the 1999, in so far as the enjoyment of such a right is not limited by Section 45 of the same Constitution, which provides the basis for the limitation of the enjoyment of the rights guaranteed by Section 40 above.

“Instances where the right to form and belong to an association can be limited, as provided in Section 45 (1) (a) of the 1999 Constitution, includes situations where such a right is in conflict with public safety, public order, public morality.

“As such, the rights of the applicant to form and register an association are not absolute. They are to be exercised and enjoyed within the precincts of the law.

‎”Strictly speaking, it is on the basis of the protection of public morality, as provided by Section 45 (1) of the 1999 Constitution, that some laws were enacted by the National Assembly to safeguard same.

“The Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act of 2013 is an example of one of these laws. Section 4 (1) of the Same Sex Marriage Act prohibits the registration of same sex associations.

“It provides as follows: ‘The Registration of organizations, of their meetings is prohibited. Gay clubs, societies and sustenance, processions and meetings are prohibited.’

“It could not have been the intention of the Legislature to prohibit the registration of gay associations, while allowing lesbian associations, as learned counsel (for the applicant) appears to be advocating with this distinction.

“The court, being a court of law and justice, must give effect, not just to the literal meaning of words, but also give effect to the real intention of the Legislature in the construction of statutes.

“Moreover, it is common knowledge that in recent times, the word “gay” is used to denote homosexuals, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders.

Two indistinguishable twins who were conceived girls have now moved toward becoming siblings.

Transgender kin Jack and Jace Grafe, 23, used to cry themselves to sleep and appealed to wake up as young men when they were kids.

They began life as Jaclyn and Jennifer in June 1995, and experienced childhood in a conservative Christian home.

Jack and Jace grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, before moving to Monroe, Georgia. They came out at the age of 18 and are now transitioning as a duo in a rare case.

The twins, who have the same DNA, have grown facial hair since they began taking testosterone in April 2017 and underwent chest surgery in August.

Now the criminal justice graduates, who both work in law enforcement, have shared their extraordinary story in a bid to inspire others.

Jack, a deputy sheriff's officer, said: "As a kid I would cry and pray to God that I would wake up in a male body, not even understanding that being transgender was a thing.

"Now, I am the happiest with myself that I have been in my entire life. That uncomfortable feeling we had before has completely gone. "When we came out, it was to our whole family - mum, dad and our older sister.

"Our parents had never seen anything like it. They have never experienced gay or transgender people and my dad is a pastor. We live in Georgia.

"At work I have had my fair share of people calling me a 's***' - she, he, it. Usually they just don't understand.

"People still refer to us as female. Whenever I hear 'she' or 'her' it is like a kick in the stomach. "It hurts but I get it. At a young age, I was skeptical of it myself. For some people, it is a hard pill to swallow.

"There are times when I wish I was just born - and I don't mean this in a negative way -but 'normal', and that I was biologically male.

"People say, 'You will never be able to change your chromosomes, you can only change the outside.' "There are still times when I come home and break down."

According to reports, the husband became concerned about the wife’s behavior shortly after he introduced her to the gym. He then started trailing her movements and finally caught the wife and her gym trainer having sex.


The suspect said they had only slept with each other 4 times and admitted it was unprofessional of him to have such affair with her client, especially knowing that she is married with two kids.

32-year-old Lulu Jemimah, an Oxfordstudent who was tired of being asked when she was getting married, married herself in front of 30 guests as witnesses.

The Oxford student who got fed-up of her family pressuring her on settling down with the right man, decided to stage a mock wedding and sent formal invites out to her nearest and dearest. Lulu Jemimah who said marriage is the last thing on her mind, spent just £2 for her taxi to the venue, and she got other things for free or as gifts from friends.

The lady who walked through the venue to the traditional wedding march and even gave a speech to her guests explaining the lack of a groom, admitted that her Ugandan parents are baffled by her decision – but said she feels it was the perfect commitment to herself and her studies.




The Oxford student who is having her masters in creative writing at the prestigious university, said;

‘I have a strong passion in life and I am committed to achieving my goals at becoming an academic.

‘But all my family wanted to ask me was when I planned to get married – which is very important back in Uganda – followed by when I would be having children and starting a family.

‘My father wrote my wedding speech when I turned 16. Every birthday my mother prayed for me and in recent years this has included a plea for a good husband.


‘But I just didn’t want to think about walking up the aisle. It’s not the thing which keeps me up at night.’




Lulu who previously worked as a freelance journalist and a communications consultant for the International Organisation for Migration, received a BA Media (film) scholarship from Macquarie University in Australia in 2013. However after her first degree, she turned her attention to the UK and applied to Oxford University to do a masters, which she started in August 2017. However in spite of her success, all her parents could think about when she was going to get a boyfriend and tie the knot, she claims.

According to the lady, in spite of her achievement all her family could think of was a husband or a boyfriend. She further disclosed that she returned home to Uganda for her birthday in August and was planning a ‘low key’ celebration, until friends convinced her otherwise.

‘One of my closest friends Karin reminded me that I had a lot to celebrate this year like getting into Oxford and I joked that I would show up in a wedding dress,’ she said.

‘We had been talking about this marriage pressure and she loved the idea so much that she offered to get me the wedding gown.

‘Then I decided, you know what weddings seem so important here – I will marry myself.’

A friend who works as a web designer made and printed her invites, and her friend paid to hire her dress, while her brother baked her cake. A friend did Lulu’s makeup in the loos at the venue, and the bar owner – also a friend – played the wedding march as she exited the toilets and walked into the venue.

[As soon as] I sent these out I immediately received phone calls asking who the groom was. I told people it was a surprise.

‘It’s shocking the price of wedding gowns in Uganda but when I told them I was marrying myself they offered to find me their cheapest dress.

‘I did feel a bit crazy trying on the dress and explaining that I was marrying myself. There was a kind of dismissive tolerance from the girls in the bridal shop.

‘I had to leave an ID card behind and when they saw my Oxford university card they screamed and were so impressed. I tried a few on and I almost cried.

‘It really is a special moment and I understood more than I had the excitement around weddings.’

‘I then spent a few minutes talking to friends and awkwardly explaining that there was no groom – most of them knew by this point,’ she said.

‘I was extremely happy,’ she said. ‘So many friends showed up, as well as international and local journalists, film directors and feminist entrepreneurs.

Former Big Brother Africa star, Uti Nwachukwu, recently came under heavy backlash when he begged American superstar, Taraji Henson, popularly known as Cookie of Empire, for help online.

Nigerians became furious and wondered what could have pushed him to do that.

However, Uti Nwachukwu rubbished claims that he wanted the American to help him, saying the post was nothing serious.

According to him, he is a fan of Cookie and as an avid user of the social media, he makes a lot of comments on people’s post and his posts are not devoid of jokes.

He said:

“It was a joke; people should not take it seriously. I always make silly comments on Cookie’s Instagram page. People are free to say whatever they want to say. I am just a fan of Cookie. I comment a lot online and I joke with my loved ones and friends.”

According to her; she travelled to Abuja to meet a friend she has known for sometime. On getting there the man was richer than she expected but she suspected something was wrong cos he can’t be so rich from selling only perfume oils.

They spent the night together and she was only getting credit alerts but he didn’t want to have sex with her cos he was saving her for Rituals. The 3rd day came he told her he will be travelling that she can stay in the hotel till anytime she wants to travel home.

According to her; that night by 2am someone came to wake her up, she said she can’t remember who,but she followed the person,only to see herself in a shrine and the only person she could recognise was her friend. (The guy she went to see in Abuja) and there were other girls too

So she was furious,trying to ask the people how she got there bt nobody was answering her. She said she watch them doing their enchantment and she also saw other girls were coming in, ( probably runs Girls  ) and they were all together,the ones they took out never came back 

Then someone came to where they were and asked her to follow him she followed him again, on getting to the shrine they told her so sit inside a calabash, she did but nothing happened. Then the Native Doctor tied a leaf around her neck and Screamed!!! Saying they brought a corpse

He then called her friend (the guy she went to see in Abuja) in anger the Native Doctor slapped him and asked him if he’s not serious with performing the rituals and that he has 48hrs to provide someone or he’ll run mad. That she (my neighbours daughter) has been used previously

She has been used previously and that she’s not worth anything, and anyone who comes incontact with her sexually also carries the same curse, and that’s how it’ll be till till eternity.He then called some people to throw her away. They came and carried her away. According to her

They dropped her in the middle of the road, with the intention that a trailer or truck will drive by and crush her to death.But luckily for her the driver saw her in the middle of the road naked n stopped.He took off his shirt nd covered her, moved her from the road n drove off

According to her she was just by the road seeing people passing by but she couldn’t say a word, they probably thought she was MAD. So a relative from same village who knows her father saw her there and called her dad, that he saw her daughter sitting by the road looking Mad.

The National Working Committee of the All Progressive Congress sent from Abuja to monitor the party’s governorship primary in Lagos State has nullified the exercise held across the 20 local government areas of the state on Tuesday.

The Chairman of the committee, Mr. Clement Ebri, who addressed the press around 4.30pm at Protea Hotel, Alausa, said the election could not have held because the committee was still expecting the list of representatives of one of the two aspirants.

The primary is being contested by Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.

Ebri, however, did not mention the camp that defaulted on the modalities for the election.

Adultery is no longer a crime, India’s Supreme Court ruled Thursday, declaring a colonial-era law that punished the offence with jail time unconstitutional and discriminatory against women.



The more than century-old law prescribed that any man who slept with a married woman without her husband’s permission had committed adultery, a crime carrying a five-year prison term in the conservative country.

A petitioner had challenged the court to strike down the law, describing it as arbitrary and discriminatory against women.

“Thinking of adultery from a point of view of criminality is a retrograde step,” unanimously declared the five-judge bench of the Supreme Court.

Women could not file a complaint under the archaic law nor be held liable for adultery themselves, making it solely the realm of men.

The court said it deprived women of dignity and individual choice and “gives license to the husband to use women as a chattel”.

“It disregards the sexual autonomy which every woman possesses and denies agency to a woman in a matrimonial tie,” said Supreme Court Justice D. Y. Chandrachud.

“She is subjugated to the will of her spouse.”

It was the second time this month the court overturned Victorian-era laws governing the sexual choices of India’s 1.25 billion citizens.

Earlier this month, the court struck a ban on gay sex introduced by British rulers in 1861.

The bench argued that Section 377 had become “a weapon for harassment” of homosexuals and “history owes an apology to the members of this community and their families”.

On adultery, government lawyers argued it should remain a crime as it threatens the institution of marriage, and caused harm to children and families.

But in its ruling, the court said extramarital affairs — while still a valid ground for divorce — were a private matter between adults.

In 1954, the court upheld adultery as a crime arguing “it is commonly accepted that it is the man who is the seducer, and not the woman”.

But in their ruling on Thursday, the judges said this narrative no longer applied, noting also that Britain did away with its own laws penalising adultery long ago.

An Albuquerque woman is suing Samsung for $1.8 million after she necessitated medical attention after inserting her cell phone inside her vagina and was unable to retrieve it for 96 hours.





Salma Briant, 39, claims her medical bills at the University of New Mexico Hospital amount to $1,168,000 and that she has suffered from severe psychological distress because of the whole ordeal.


Briant said she first inserted the cell phone inside her vagina as a dare from one of her friends but quickly realized that the phone would not come out.





“I wanted to see how it would feel to put my cell phone on vibration mode inside of me, just for fun, but it soon turned out to be a nightmare,” she told judge Andrew Peterson in tears.







Attorney Jim McAfee’s claims his client was forced to undergo a cesarean section to remove the cell phone because of the atypical shape of her pelvis and had no insurance at the time.



“Samsung is definitely at fault here as they offer no warning about the dangers and potential risks during the insertion of their products inside their clients male or female body cavities or genitals” Salma Briant’s lawyer, Jim McAfee said in court.





A Samsung spokesman said they would not comment on this case at this moment but explained that an out-of-court settlement was still an option on the table.

A Lagos Magistrate Court sitting in Igbosere, yesterday requested four men to be remanded in jail authority for supposedly hacking and taking about N1 billion from First City Monument
Bank (FCMB).Magistrate Folashade Botoku requested their remand following their arraignment on four tally charge by the Special Fraud Unit of the Nigeria Police, SFU.

The suspect are; Gideo Olatimeyin 33, Osita Martyns 37, Daramola Samuel Akanji 23 and Abiodun Aina 38 years old.They were alleged to have conspired to steal and effect unauthorised modification of bank’s computer data by increasing the transaction limit to facilitate theft of the funds.

The offence is punishable under section 287(9)(c), 390,411 and 388 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State,2015. They pleaded not guilty to all the four count charges.

Part of the charge read:

“That you, Gideo Olatimeyin M, Osita Martyns M, Daramola Samuel Akanji M and Abiodun Aina M and others at large on March 10, 2018 at Lagos, at the Lagos Magisterial district , did conspired amongst yourself did steal the sum of #900,775,757.47 property of various customers of the bank by transferring the funds from their FCMB accounts to various different accounts outside the bank via POS and ATM.

Also, the police alleged that the defendants on same date and place with intent to defrauded, did gain access link to the debit card platform and profile of FCMB bank through the profile of a contact center staff and effect unauthorised modification of the bank computer data by increasing the transaction withdrawal limit.

Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has reacted to a statement posted on Instagram by a female fan claiming that he had a one-night stand with her.

Ibu, in a telephone interview with our correspondent on Wednesday, said that although he posed for a photo shot with the fan in question, he never had sexual intercourse with her.

Recounting what happened, he said, “The woman approached me to take a picture with me alongside her husband. She said she happily posted those pictures she took with me without any write-up. It was when a blog carried the picture that a write-up appeared from nowhere.

“I initially called police to arrest the woman, but she came to my house with her family to apologise that she would not have posted the picture had she known it would cause trouble. She swore that she would not have a child, if she ever wrote anything evil about me. I believed her. I told her that she did nothing wrong by posting the picture.”

The actor described the offensive statement as the handiwork of unknown enemies who were planning to tarnish his image.

Pleading with members of the public not to believe everything they read online, Ibu also claimed that some people, in an attempt to rubbish his name, had hacked into his social media accounts and impersonated him.

He said, “I know that I have enemies. They were the ones who put that write-up to tarnish my image, but they can never succeed because I have never stepped on anybody’s toes and I will never do it. I only want to upgrade people and make them happy.

“Some people are trying to pull me down. I’ve witnessed instances where hackers used my account to defraud other people and upload all sorts of nonsense about me. But I always tell people that I am not the owner of those accounts.”

South Africa’s top court ruled Tuesday that private, personal cannabis use was legal in a landmark case that had pitted law enforcement agencies against marijuana advocates and the judiciary.


Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo, delivering the Johannesburg-based Constitutional Court’s unanimous verdict, declared the law banning marijuana use in private by adults “is unconstitutional and therefore invalid”.

“It will not be a criminal offence for an adult person to use or be in possession of cannabis in private for his or her personal consumption,” he said, reading the ruling to cheers from the public gallery.

The court also ordered parliament to draft new laws within 24 months to reflect the order.

Outside pro-cannabis campaigners lit pipes and rolled joints to celebrate the news, filling the air with the distinctive aroma of marijuana.

“I’m happy I won’t be getting any more criminal records for possession,” Ruaan Wilson, 29, told AFP before pausing for a puff.

“Now we can get police to focus on real drugs and thugs,” he added, wearing shorts and dark sunglasses.

A court in Western Cape had ruled in March 2017 that a ban on cannabis use by adults at home was unconstitutional, a move that effectively decriminalised it in the province, which includes Cape Town.

But the ministers of justice, police, health and trade challenged that finding, arguing that there was “objective proof of the harmful effects of cannabis.”

Tuesday’s ruling will not decriminalise the use of the drug in public nor the offences of supplying or dealing — but cultivation for personal, private use will no longer be illegal for adults.
‘We are free now’

Previously, possessing, growing or using marijuana for personal use — even in small quantities — exposed users to fines of up to hundreds of dollars (euros) as well as jail time, although this latter punishment was rare. Penalties for selling the drug were far higher.

Three cannabis users who had faced prosecution for using the drug argued in the Constitutional Court that the prohibition “intrudes unjustifiably into their private spheres”.

Activists clutching banners reading “Weed are free now” and Rastafari flags gathered outside the court in central Johannesburg.
