The Police Public Relation officer, Jimoh Moshood, who appeared as a guest on Channels Television told Nigerians to be wary of their use of social media saying the #EndSARS was started by someone with an ulterior motive. He said the social media is very porous and Nigerian users should be cautious in joining in an outcry. “Somebody who has an ulterior motive put up the hashtag and said End SARS now. Nigerians should be mindful because the social media is very porous. What is the cause of the outcry in the first place?"

“This was why the IGP was concerned about the cause of the outcry. People should be mindful of the intention of the person that put up the hashtag that people are falling into it,” he said. Moshood also said the Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) has been in operation for over 40 years and those calling for a scrap of the squad should disabuse their minds as they are performing their duties well."

“The SARS of the Nigerian Police Force no doubt are doing very well. The rate of robbery across the country has gone down. We want people to disabuse their minds that SARS should be ended because this outfit is a department of the Nigerian police and it has been there for over 40 years and they have been doing their best since those years,” he said.

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has sworn in his biological sister, Mrs. Ogechi Ololo (nee Okorocha) as the state’s Commissioner for Happiness and Couples’ Fulfillment. She is among the 28 new commissioners and 27 Transition Committee Chairmen for the 27 local government councils in the state sworn in. .

Ololo, who is married to Chuks, an engineer, was the APC’s candidate into the House of Representatives for the Owerri Federal Constituency seat in 2015 and she has served in various capacities since Okorocha became the state governor in 2011.

She had, before her new appointment, served as her brother’s Deputy Chief of Staff and Special Adviser on Domestic Matters.

Bobrisky unraveled the identity of his most talked about partner on Snapchat on Tuesday and hinted that his partner is over 50 years. The Nigerian Snapchat sensation also revealed that he prefers his partner, ”old rather than young.”

Drone footage shows £345million quarry hotel inching towards completion after 11 years.

FACTS ;

*. Work continues to build the InterContinental Shimao hotel in Songjiang district of Shanghai, east China

*. Complex has been designed by British-based firm Atkins and will have 370 guest rooms over 19 floors

*. Two floors will be underwater and boast a glass-walled aquarium and guest rooms for the Chinese elite

*. Due to open in 2018, the structure will blend in with the landscape thanks to eco-friendly, tree-lined roof.

It has been work in progress since 2006. And, finally, it seems that the InterContinental Shimao hotel in Shanghai,China, is inching towards the first major stage of completion as new footage reveals.

Filmed by Asia’s Pear Video, the most up-to-date scenes show the venue’s exterior taking shape just six months ahead of the £345million resort’s reported opening in May 2018.

After years of hard work from a team of 5,000 construction staff, the epic project is seen beginning to resemble the original artist’s impression of the building, which was first unveiled in 2006.

June’s, a unique pop-up restaurant in Toronto, Canada is the world’s first eatery where all of the kitchen staff are HIV positive.

The idea of the restaurant was born out of a recent poll that suggested only half of Canadians would knowingly share or eat food prepared by someone who is HIV positive.

According to Joanne Simons of Casey House, Canada’s first and only standalone hospital for people living with HIV/Aids, the idea was to “challenge the stigma that still exists around HIV” and also an invaluable opportunity to publicly address some of the myths that persist today around the disease.

“I think that there’s still this lingering notion that if I have regular human contact with somebody with HIV, I may contract it – and it is still a death sentence,” Simons said.

After the after the pop-up restaurant was launched there were a lot of questions about what happens if somebody cuts themselves in the kitchen and they’re HIV positive and the risk of transmission, but Simons explains:

“We manage that like anybody would in a kitchen: you make sure you provide first aid, you clean up the area, you throw away whatever has been touched by the blood and you clean the surfaces. We would do that regardless of whether you have HIV or not – that’s just common sense.

“There’s absolutely no risk that somebody can contract HIV from sharing a meal. HIV doesn’t live well out of the body for any length of time and through the cooking the virus dies.”



After its launch, the restaurant which already has more than 100 patrons, recruited a 14-person team for the kitchen who spent hours with the Toronto chef Matt Basile to design a menu. As they geared up to prepare dishes that ranged from a northern Thai potato leek soup and Arctic char pappardelle, Basile trained them in food preparation.

Muluba Habanyama, a cook who lost both her parents to the disease, wondered what her parents would have thought of the restaurant.

“I know that if they were alive and seeing this it would have been unreal to them. Growing up, I knew I was positive, but I also knew it was a secret you kept within the family,” the 24-year-old said. As a child she fretted during sleepovers that the other kids would spot her taking medications – and experienced first-hand how perceptions shifted when she revealed her secret, the Guardian reports.

29-year-old Kehinde Ariyo, who allegedly defiled an 85-year-old woman in Ilesa, Osun State was paraded yesterday at the State’s Police headquarters.

According to the State’s Commissioner of Police, Fimihan Adeoye, the old woman sustained serious injury when she was being defiled by the suspect before she passed out. He further disclosed that the woman was later resuscitated at a hospital and responding to treatment.

According to scientists no matter whether you like it or not, smelling your partner’s farts will amazingly make you live longer. Yes you read that right, a research team at the University of Exeter have discovered it is good for you to inhale your partner’s stinky farts as the gases in them can combat diseases.


So if you catch your partner eyeing you up weirdly tonight in bed, just sitting there waiting, you know why. The study, published in the journal Medicinal Chemistry Communications, analysed the impact of the gas hydrogen sulfide which humans produce in small amounts. Although it was found to be noxious in large doses, researchers discovered that cellular exposure to small amounts of the gas can prevent mitochondrial damage which has many health implications.

One of the researchers, Dr. Mark Wood, said:

Although hydrogen sulfide is well known as a pungent, foul-smelling gas in rotten eggs and flatulence, it is naturally produced in the body and could in fact be a healthcare hero. Surprisingly the gas in farts can actually reduce the risk of several life threatening illnesses including cancer, stroke and heart attacks.


According to researchers, it has also been proven to prevent arthritis and dementia in old age. Creating a new compound know as AP39, the team at the University believe this can hold the key to future therapies as it ensures that the body retains and produces the right amount of hydrogen sulfide.

Researchers claim that this compound can be delivered to targeted cells in the body and placed inside. Professor Matt Whiteman, from the university’s medical school, added: When cells become stressed by disease, they draw in enzymes to generate minute quantities of hydrogen sulfide. This keeps the mitochondria ticking over and allows cells to live. If this doesn’t happen, the cells die and lose the ability to regulate survival and control inflammation.

The Society of Family Health has said that Nigerians consume over 400 million condoms annually. Its Managing Director, Bright Ekweremadu, said this in Lagos on Tuesday.

He was, however, quoted as saying that the 400 million condom consumption could fall below expectation based on the society’s estimation of unprotected sex in the country.

He spoke during the launch of Flex condom, a brand that, he said, came with a lot of flavours and had more strength and could last longer during sex.

Ekweremadu said, “We have been in the business of condom production for over 30 years. We have done a lot of things in educating people to embrace abstinence with our zip-up campaign. There are obviously sexually active Nigerians who may not totally abstain from sex and this led to our alternative, particularly at this time when HIV/AIDs is prevalent in the country.
