WebmastersRe: Five Most Common Blogging Problems by sadediji2(m): 9:08am On Jun 23, 2016
Aphatech:
So, as a tribute to the great bloggers who faced these challenges and to those who is thinking to start a blog, today I will be discussing the 5 most common blogging problems.

1. Topic For Next Post
Why is this a problem?
Well believe me, most bloggers does not start blogging because of passion. It’s because they find as the easiest way to generate income.
And if one start blogging with the aim of money-making, they usually end up choosing the most- profitable niche for blogging, on which they might not have any
interest.
So eventually, they find it hard to find topic for their blog post. I find a lot of such bloggers who doesn’t have any interest in the topic they blog about and the phrase NEXT BLOG POST is usually a nightmare for them tongue.

2. Time To Concentrate On Blogging
Whether you blog for money or for passion, time doesn’t compromises for anyone. And you find it relatively hard to concentrate on your blog unless you have completely isolated yourself for blogging.
Time is a major problem especially for students, employees etc who have tiring works all day. And after all these chaos, they blog within the remaining time. So people who blog partially find Time a major problem unless on weekends or holidays !

3. Income
As I said above, if you are blogging for money, then this problem should appear first. Every pro-bloggers says that you should only start to think about income at least after 6 months of blogging.
But what we see is that as soon as their blog’s age reaches 1-2 months, many bloggers start to apply for AdSense and other platforms. And most often, they gets rejected by Adsense and quit blogging. If your main reason for blogging is money and you have no patience for earning them, then you’re not going to earn from blog at all ! And for others, who is not able to make a good amount from blogging. Just concentrate on your articles and readers, because they are the one that generates income for you.

4. Competition
This is often faced by bloggers who race to increase their blog’s rankings. With the so-called blogosphere getting more and more populated every day, you need to work really hard to reach the extremes of blogging! Blogging needs passion, and moreover you need ideas. Ideas that can help you write,write and write more to gain readers and popularity. The best way to get popular is to choose your favorite niche [Of which you have idea] and start writing.

5. Response
Duh ! Here comes the main problem. By saying response, what I mean is 3 things
* Traffic
* Subscribers
* Comments

Traffic is something that keeps your blog alive. If you are very much concerned about traffic, then it is recommended that you spend some months in researching for trends in blogging before you start your own blog.
Also do keep in mind to update your blog with regular happenings in your niche. This way readers will feel your content fresher and useful and you’ll start having a flow of traffic.

Subscribers is something that reflects whether your blog’s becoming successful or no. The more a reader feels your content useful, the more is the chance that he/she would subscribe and refer your blog in the future too!

Comments can be referred as the direct and immediate response for your articles by readers.
Many say that WordPress blogs get more comments because of their CommentLuv feature.
But I believe that content is the factor that makes a reader to comment.

Hey! You have just finish reading my tutorial, do me a favour by taking 5seconds to share this post. It wont take a sting outta you!
Dont forget to COMMENT!!!

EducationRe: Why Post Utme MUST Be Scrapped Completely (5 Reasons) by sadediji2(m): 10:35pm On Jun 20, 2016
THE OF THE MATTER is listed below
Sadediji2gist the change must be delivered
Why Post Ume MUST be scrapped completely.

This is not a response thread to Matolysis's, as I find his interesting but bereft of facts and also lacks awareness of the current tertiary admission process. No apologies.

In our time it was strictly JAMB , if you score high, the higher your chances. Though there was malpractice then, JAMB has improved today especially with Computer based testing introduction.
I have wards who passed through the PUME process, which is significantly different from our time, for example, now many schools do not invite second choice for their screening and this is at variance with JAMB procedure. I am also an insider of sorts in the PUME process, and I'll use the Uniben scenario to give reasons why PUME is illegal and must be scrapped and defaulting schools prosecuted.

1. Post UME infringes on the sole power right of Jamb/UTME to give admissions. If you go through the JAMB act, it states that only the body has the right to conduct exams after charging fees, give undergraduate admissions, carryout placements in Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education. The universities are only supposed to send their requirements and preferences. The only exception is Post graduate admissions. But today Universities charge another amount , sometimes higher than JAMB's to conduct a parallel exam clearly defying the act, and give admissions using methods known to no one else. Uniben announced admission screening fee of 2000 and optional 1000 for past questions. But the reality is that, processing Uniben PUME/ ASE 2016 costs 3550. There is no option there, it just displays this amount and asks for MasterCard/Verve details.

2. Secondly, Post UME is not transparent, it is even more fraud prone than JAMB. CBT has greatly reduced fraud, eliminating text message answers, buying answers online and impersonation. We now have biometric check in and check out, and CBT even makes the exam easier to invigilate as candidates are forced to stare at their screens and nothing else. A bonus is the availability of system calculator which wasn't totally available in the era of pencil test.
BUT Pume is not even standardized, no preparation syllabus, some schools purposely set questions from A-Level just to be wicked and reduce number of successful people, others are known for giving very little time. And at the end they just send admission notification without pasting any list publicly and denying some admission even after surpassing the JAMB cutoff.

3. Post UME introduces avenues for special candidates getting better courses. Special candidates refers to Royal father's recommendees , governor's candidates , VC's candidates, staff children and state of origin waivers etc These sets of people would score less than others and must get admitted , in many cases get their course of choice.
In Uniben, to enter the college of Medicine, staff kids have their cutoff 10marks below regular cut off. So while a normal candidate aims for 70, they'll aim for 60. After taking the number of staff kids they want, the rest is filled with merit and government/royal candidates. And they all wrote the same JAMB. And the non staff candidates who fall under 60 < x < 70 are pushed to pharmacy and Life Sciences.
That is one reason why they do not release cutoff before results, as they need to fit in their people first and adjust and that's why majority of the post ume era medical graduates are children of doctors and professors; Not because Medicine runs in their veins but because corruption runs instead. There have also been reports of score upgrade in different schools including UNIBEN.
And That is what gives rise to fraudsters, result checkers and predators who take advantage of candidates giving them fake admission. And the school waits till final year exams before publishing lists of fake students, meanwhile they've been collecting school fees from 100L.

4. Post UME destroys the JAMB score. For instance , someone who scored 280 in JAMB would have his score divided by 8 giving 35 and this will be added to half the PUME score. Another person who scored 240 would see his score transformed to 30.. only 5 marks difference. Assuming the second guy scores 70 in PUMe and the first guy scores 60, after dividing by two and adding to both Jamb scores, the two aggregate scores would be equal! The PUME now more weighted than JAMB. That's why it is possible to "pass 220 and not enter school".
One would expect that the PUME score is the one divided and transformed after all it is the illegal exam!

5. PUME makes it difficult for Jamb to monitor admissions. An admission body that is relegated in its own game. One would expect that at this time parents would clamour for schools to start pasting their admission lists with raw scores attached. not a case of someone with 53 given Law and another person with 65 reading Foreign languages when they both put Law as first choice.
Jamb is still a major exam that can never be replaced by the schemes of money-for-grades lecturers.
Some may argue that Jamb scores are lower than students expect. This is because of Item Response Psychometric testing method, which is why people talk about negative marking etc. This method does not aggregate all the questions gotten correct, instead questions carry different marks depending on the set difficulty and depending on how many people answer that question.
And PUME has seen schools flooded with kids without emotional intelligence and they can't fend for themselves, they rush through and pass out and it doesn't even seem like they went to school
Jobs/VacanciesRe: What Graduates Don't Know About N-power Program by sadediji2(m): 11:07am On Jun 14, 2016
sadediji2gist
Its quite relieving after the FG announced the commencement of the N-power program as many unemployed graduated seemed hopeful. This program is said to absorb over 600,000 graduate. Nobody enjoys being unemployed though but, I want you to know how tired up you will be in this program once you are given the job.
Remember they requested for ur BVN?
This means that after you apply for the job, you will not be able to apply for other Government job thereafter. As it will read in there database that you are already employed at the Federal level, there is no flexible potting. A friend who works with with a Federal Secondary School shared how he went for an interview during the CBN recruitments and after performing excellently, they told him he had a Job under the same FG through his BVN. So, if you wish to apply for this job, consider not getting any other Federal Jobs. While this may be a way to reduce unemployment think of the implications it will have in your life.
Just like NYSC, you will be supervised, you will not be allowed to leave a particularly area. Really NYSC part II
You will be tired up with 23k for 2yrs.......reflect on that http://sadediji2gist..com
PoliticsRe: FG Records N725bn Deficit In First Quarter by sadediji2(m): 10:54am On Jun 14, 2016
sadediji2gist post=46551749]The Federal Government recorded a deficit of N725.18 billion in its fiscal operations in the first quarter of 2016, according to data released yesterday by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN. Nigeria also earned $1.02 billion from its non-oil exports during the period, and this represents an increase of 38.6 percent or $393.7 million (N78.7bn) over the amount earned in the same period of 2015.

The CBN, in its Economic Report for the First Quarter of 2016, attributed the deficit to an expenditure of N1.23 trillion, over retained earnings of N505.1 billion in the period under review. The deficit, the report said, was a result of a decline in oil and non-oil revenues and a rise in capital expenditure in the quarter under review.

The dip in oil earnings was attributed to a sharp drop in oil and gas export, low price of crude oil in the international market and the persistent disruption in petroleum export due to vandalism and production shut-ins.

According to the report, the estimated fiscal deficit of N725.18 billion indicated an increase of 178.6 percent above the 2015 provisional quarterly budget deficit of N260.25 billion. The CBN also stated that the Federal Government’s expenditure for the first quarter was 3.4 percent higher than the provisional quarterly budget estimate, but was below level in the fourth quarter of 2015 by 20.3 percent.

Specifically, breakdown of total expenditure showed that recurrent expenditure accounted for 72.8 percent of the total, while capital and statutory transfers accounted for 18 and 9.2 percent, respectively.

In the recurrent expenditure aspect, the report noted that non-debt component accounted for 72.7 percent, while debt service payments accounted for the balance of 27.3 percent. Using provisional data, CBN further stated that the Federal Government’s retained revenue for the first quarter of 2016, of N505.07 billion was below the receipts in the fourth quarter of 2015 by 37.5 percent.

Giving a breakdown of government’s total revenue, the report disclosed that Federation Account accounted for 81.6 percent of the total, while Independent Revenue, Value Added Tax, VAT, and others, comprising the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC’s Refund and Exchange Gain, accounted for 8.0, 5.6 and 4.8 percent, respectively.

[quote author=johnca post=46475656]36. ZAMFARA STATE
Mention Zamfara and the next thing that comes to the mind of many is Sharia…lol! Carved out of Sokoto State in 1996 by General Sani Abacha (the Khalifa), Zamfara State that we know today was once a bustling Hausa Kingdom from the 10th to the 18th centuries. Like Gobirawa, Kebbawa and Adarawa, the Zamfarawa people are one of the ethnic (actually, more of linguistic groups) in the state. Zamfarawa is one of the subdialects of Eastern Hausa linguistic group and that is where the name came from. In the past, the area was known for revolts, rebellions and for conducting extensive military raids into neighboring towns and settlements.

See you o! Tired already? LOL! Ok, just one more. Or you thought I’d forget Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory? No! Nigeria’s capital city took its name from the ancient Hausa emirate of Abuja which itself was in turn named after a fortified settlement near Zuba by Abu(bakar) Ja in 1828 (meaning Abu the Red (or Fair-Skinned like some Fulanis), ja is the word for red or fair-complexioned in Hausa). In 1976, a panel headed by Justice Akinola Aguda selected Abuja as the new capital as Lagos was then suffering from overcongestion. Abuja was originally established by the ruling Hausa dynasty of Zaria in the 1600s. And did I tell you? ABJ is Nigeria’s first planned city. Okay, I guess that’s it!

THANKS A LOT FOR YOUR TIME.

CHARGE CONTROLLER

In this case, I use a Chinese product and it did get faulty whenever my batteries discharge below the Low Voltage Disconnection Protection (LDP). In this case, I've changed this product twice (within six months) due to the guarantee period given by the guy that sold it to me. From its pack, it is more of a nameless product.

In this case, TriStar is expensive but as usual will give you value for your money. I neither know nor have I heard much about Indian brands of Charge Controllers. Although I've used one in the past which worked pretty well and always tells me when I should switch off my inverter by a red signal light. Will get the name later and post on this thread.

SOLAR PANEL

For panels, I think any panel will do. All the consumer has to do is ensure that the ratings are accurate. Ask the seller to test the Short Circuit Current and Voltage for you and once done, multiply the current (I) by the Voltage (V) to see if it is close to or same as the panel power ratings in Watts. After confirming this, just take your panel home ensuring you prevent it from damage during transport and installation, and you should be good to go. Solar panels last for as much as 20 - 25 years or more. Though in dry seasons and dusty areas, they require cleaning once in a while. However, in rainy seasons, rainfalls can help you clean them up.

My products are 2 of 300W/24V panels. Quite heavy and large.

Someone asked me to help him acquire his own system and i therefore want to get inputs from Nairalander before making my decisions on brands to go for. So I ask that users of solar system come in and give their bitter or good experience using brands of batteries, inverters, charge controllers and solar panels. And also, mods please take us to front page for more contributions

Lies may prevail for a years bt one day truth will win, thank God truth is coming gradually, for those who gather on social platform to discredit the govt of ogbeni, to God be the glory truth is emerging gradually. This man remains the best Governor of that state since inception, failure to pay workers at some point shouldn't bring lies and downgrading of his achievement. Am from osun, all you see in this pictures are nothing but the truth, all these project spreads over nooks and crannies of osun state. The road to my house at ile-ife that has been a earth road for decades was tarred by this man. There is no local govt in osun that govt presence is not felt. Why would people decide to bring a man who comes with good intention down, today, with the news of salary issues in bayelsa, ondo and ekiti, we have come to see that indeed, most of those who come here to criticise ogbeni are nothing but hypocrites, am yet to see people condemn mimiko and dickson's failure to pay worker despite their huge earning from federal covers. What this two states earn is far more than osun, and they are not doing any project. But same people are often quick to condemn and malign aregbesola. My greatest joy is that gradually osun is recovering, salaries are being paid, even if it is half payment, it is far better than none in ondo, aregbe keeps working despite the state of the nation, I see a man whose enemies and propagandists will soon gather to celebrate, keep ur good work sir, we see it daily, and we yearn for more, don't get detered the road may be rough, people may call you names now but some day, they will gather to honour you, osun a dara.

WebmastersRe: Steps To Add A Widget Below First Post In Blogger by sadediji2(m): 10:32am On May 25, 2016
haconjy:
How to Add a Widget Below First Post in Blogger
This tutorial will show you how to make a gadget/widget to appear just below the first Blogger post.
First, you must understand that the usual gadgets provided by Blogger can be added only where the design section allows this. Yet, we can show any element, for example, an AdSense ad, an image, a flash file or a video etc...

So, what we will do in this tutorial is to display an element under the first post, this means that it will not be visible below the other posts. This is great when you use any automatic summary , although it is not a requirement.

This is easy to do and we will use the isFirstPost conditional tag for that element to show it under the first post published on our blog.

Adding A Gadget or Widget Below First Post in Blogger

Step 1. From your Blogger dashboard, go to
Template and click on the Edit HTML button:

Step 2. Click anywhere inside the code area and press the CTRL + F keys to open the Blogger search box

Step 3 . Type or paste this line below inside the search box and hit Enter to find it:
Selectable text below

<b:include data='post' name='post'/>
End of code
Step 4. Just below it add this code:
Selectable text below
<b:if cond='data:post.isFirstPost'>
<div align="center" style=" margin:10px auto; ">
Here goes the code of the element you want to show
</div>
</b:if>

End of code

Note:
- The bolded text indicates to where you should paste the code of the element (eg. AdSense ad, a widget).

- In red are the top margins (margin-top) and the bottom margins (margin-bottom), this is in case you want the element to move towards or away from the entries, also you can add any style like a background color, border etc...

Step 5. Preview to make sure everything is ok, then Save your Template by clicking on the Save template button. That's it!
