I am a Civil Engineer with technical expertise in structural design and detailing using computer softwares (AutoCAD, CSC Orion, Civil 3D, ArchiCAD...) I have firsthand onsite supervision experience and I am an Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria level 3 certified HSE Officer and a Quality Control (materials testing) Engineer. I use GPS, Mapsource and Google Earth for surveying and satellite imagery.

I accept this idea and I stand by it totally and completely.

U will need to create drawings by hiring an architect or draft to make drawings of the existing structure in cad.
They shd get the existing dimensions and create a drawing.

No 2. You will need to hire a registered civil or structural engineer as a consultant to do the calculations and give u detailed scope of work

A "warehouse" is a Civil Engineering project.

There are non destructive tests for reinforced concrete structures (Ultrasonic pulse velocity test and Schmidt hammer test). Either of these tests will give you the structural integrity of the structure.

Some good Engineering companies retrenched staff in the heat of this economic meltdown, but things seem to be getting good now. If it's good, give it another try, but make yourself more indispensable. You can go for trainings, get certifications and improve yourself while at it.
