Go to Igbosere Magistrate Court, you'd see some women with typewriter by the road side and tell them you want to notarize documents. There's actually no fixed price for notarizing documents - it just depends on your negotiating skills (you could get it done for as low as N800 per document). But the trick is don't appear loaded e.g. going with Uber/Taxify or one exotic car

Since you already have a Canadian PR, why not activate it and after two or three years you can effortlessly move to Australia instead of wasting time and resources for Australian PR?
Even if you are a citizen, school fees for children is not totally free unlike Canada, IT jobs are concentrated in the big cities and you compete with the best to get one, drilling jobs is on the lowest level as Australia is not an oil producing country and the closest occupation to that is in mining sector which is also on the decline.
The good thing is that there's high tendency of making more money in Australia than Canada in as much as you are not lazy and you are flexible to switch occupation in events of what you aspire is not forth coming and also things are relatively expensive than in Canada, weather conditions actually varies across the States, can be extremely cold during winter as well as very hot during summer.

-letting them know if you indeed travelled to Canada 'to speed up' the process while intimating them the steps you are taking to recoup 'the CAD1500 application fee' that once 'touched your bone' when you finally get to land in Mapleland.

On behalf of this family, I say a big congrats! It isn't too early to start counting down to your PPR I suppose. My hubby is a great fan of your mock writing tasks. He would laugh and laugh and hand me the phone. I recently opened this moniker and it's my first post. VO : OTTAWA (found out when i raised cse 2weeks or so before PPR)

I advise friends to start writing their professional exams(CIA and CISA for Auditing) from naija ( a mistake i made), interestingly no one has listened to me so far, I am presently working part time and writing my exams also.
is it easy ?......HELL NO, but i have my eyes on the prize and will do whatever i need to to get the certifications.( 2 stages down....2 to go)

@bolded exactly why I was also considering doing CPA straight. Though I learned CPA is damn expensive and could take up to two years hence ACCA still remains the best (fast & cheap) of the options IMO
The grant is called recognition grant, I know nothing about it though.
The cima route is risky as it's not acceptable in some provinces

I understand there is no agreement btw CPA and ICAN.. I wrote to the CPA body of my intended province and I was told with ICAN, one can get an advanced standing in the CPA exemption....You will have to do a transcript assessment ( request WES to send a course by course report of your evaluation) and also have ICAN send your transcript and a letter of.good standing , your resume is also required to ascertain your years of experience. Once the assessment is done, you will be granted exemption in the CPA PEP program.. By the advanced standing I mentioned earlier - it's just capstone 1 and 2 which looks to me like a presentation and then the common final exam CFE....

I have began my transcript assessment and will inform the house of the outcome...


@ Safex - Can you give more details about the grants one can get to write a professional exam?

P.S - I couldnt go via the CIMA route as CPA SAS made me understand that getting an advanced standing in CIMA will not qualify me for a CPA certificate...

Going through the ACCA route will mean writing 4 papers and then completing the Tax and Law assessment(2 papers) to get the CPA certification and that will also mean paying plenty annual membership fees...

if you are going to use your ICAN for conversion to acca and by extension CPA, you must have sat for the exam and passed BEFORE YOU LAND into Canada, else the Mou between acca and CPA won't be applicable to you

I don't think it's absolutely useless though. A landed senior once told me one could actually use ICAN to claim CPA exemption in order to write only the final stage. He even mention one particular grant one could take sef. I'm not sure how easy that is though

I really can't say. Maybe if you go early; nothing is impossicant in Nigeria after all.
It takes a while simply because I learned they have to send to Lagos office for approval

You really don't need any contact. Just go to Louis Edet House and tell them you want to do PCC. It's 10k and you should get it the next working day. Hope that helps
