to be fair to whoever the cretin is, testers make around that amount per year if he's on a contract. permanent staff are paid peanuts though.

the actual number of years after graduation doesn't matter.....it's all about whatever he writes in his CV.....and his ability to defend his CV.

You would have to have more than 2 years experience to make that on contract.

To make that, you would need to be making close to, or even more than, £500 per day.

Not many testers make that much, more so, not those with small experience or no leadership responsibilities.

Any company management that tried paid that to a mediocre rookie, would be roasted by the board and investors as 'moorons on a pyre'.

You can get Accenture or IBM in to provide testers for way less than £500 per day. More like £180 per day if their business development and senior consultant team do a good sales bargain. You will get the organisational experience, the robust testing methodology, the IT knowhow and the transfer of risk for far cheaper if you hired them. And this £180 would not go to the tester, only about £23,000 per year would hit their bank account (pre tax).
