2sexi: I don't think Fashola has done better than Akpabio in terms of infrastructural development... My Opinion.

In my school slang :" Akpabio finish work" walahi.

Sagamite, have you been to Uyo, Akwa Ibom? That dude is the best Governor to have grace the circles of Nigeria's political platform.
Nope.

I disagree because Fashola is not just building, he has a comprehensive vision with interconnected projects to achieve the goal.

Akpabio is a typical cretinous gada-building (bridge-building) populist big man who is lucky to be in charge of a far larger and easier naira per capita budget from being an oil state.

A governor that gives musicians 4x4 cars as wedding present and awarded himself a £100m pension while the local university does not have money for research is not a sane man, but the typical useless fcktards we have ruling Nigeria. That can never be "the best Governor to have grace the circles of Nigeria's political platform".

The cretin needs to be shot!

How have governors performed in the states you know.

Make sure you give sensible reasons for justifying your judgement.

How have they performed considering my earlier analysis:

Sagamite: Here is my analysis of the State Governors of Nigeria as of 29th May 2011.

I must state most analysis is based on a mixture of (1) utterances by the governor that I have read, (2) general reports online and (3) the citizenry affection and respect the governors generate.

The list also supports the arguments I have always given that Nigeria is slowly but gradually seeing improvements in governance. We are having less Amala ati ewedu, Esiwu, Furadenunu, Palm-wine and Edikayikong politicians as governors.

I've said, "if she was intoxicated and did not give prior consent, it's ra.pe". The only difference is that you were paying disproportionate attention to the "it's ra.pe" portion of the argument when the discussion was focused on women so much so that you find it shocking to find that same conditional "if" there in reference to male ra.pe.

Such is the story of how I magically became a sex.ist man-hater on the basis of "if". Now, an obvious sex.ist is using the word "sex.ist" to insult me. Now, I "sit on a fence" and as a fool shows me my foolish ways. Now, it's: "Enlightenedsoul and the average woman approves of this *insert terrible video here*".

Politicians Paying Moronic Youths As Internet Warriors

Letter from Africa: Nigeria's internet warriors

In our series of letters from African journalists, writer and novelist Adaobi Tricia Nwaubani looks at the online battle hotting up ahead of next year's elections in Nigeria.

When it comes to providing work for idle minds, the devil seems to have a particular fondness for Nigerian youths, especially around election times.

Most elections conducted in Nigeria over the past decades have been characterised by thuggery.

Politicians turn to the country's pool of unemployed millions to recruit young people who will aid their democratic ambitions.

These youths are then trained and empowered to manipulate the electoral climate.

Their job description includes anything from intimidating political opponents to seizing ballot boxes and clobbering uncooperative electoral officers.

But times are definitely changing.

Rather than supplying them with machetes, missiles and matches, Nigerian politicians are now arming their hirelings with laptops, smart phones and internet connections.

Political thuggery has gone digital.

As Nigeria gears up for the 2015 general elections, squads of young people are being recruited across the nation to storm cyberspace: To harass, intimidate and persecute their employer's opponents or those with views that oppose his ambitions.

For many Nigerian youths, being an "internet warrior" is a full-time job.

Some work from home; others work from an office - many work round the clock.

I spoke to a 28-year-old chemistry graduate who patrols the online war front for one of Nigeria's popular politicians.

Every morning, he gets dressed and embarks on a 20-minute drive to work, where he sits in an office with dozens of other young people on the same mission as himself.

With a burst of laughter, he summarised his job description in three words: "Distort public opinion".

He and his colleagues have about 10 different pseudonyms each for news websites and blogs, but fewer for Facebook and Twitter.

They bombard articles about their politician with positive comments, and blast those of his opponents with negative posts.

"I usually use corruption and ethnicity to attack," he said.

Some months ago, he was engaged in the exact opposite: Maligning his current employer.

At the time, he was working in an enemy camp, but the pay and conditions were not as favourable as those offered him now.

"They had promised us jobs," he said, "but when the time came, they offered all the positions to people from their constituency."

No broken bones

Another young man told me that certain online platforms, especially newspapers, block any comments his team members post in support of their candidate.

Others allow support for his principal, and disallow negativity from enemy camps.

It all depends on whose payroll the newspaper's online editor has been signed.

These internet warriors, while not stealing ballot boxes or bullying electoral officers, are manipulating the electoral climate.

Public opinion is being rigged.

At this rate, the forthcoming elections will be full of many surprises, especially for those who depend on online forums to gauge Nigerians' sentiments on any issue.

Meanwhile, the multitude of Nigerians who actually go out to stand in the rain or sun for hours to vote on election day, often do not have internet connections in their shacks.

Being an internet warrior certainly comes across as a more acceptable form of thuggery than ripping shirts and hurling stones in the streets.

Brain instead of brawn. No bones broken, no limbs amputated, no blood shed, no lives lost.

Broken promises

The pseudonymous adversaries may even be best friends.

At the close of business, they shut their laptops and meet at the pepper-soup joint down the road for a stout, the day's vicious tasks safely behind their screens.

But what will become of all these recruits when the 2015 battles have been lost or won?

Despite the promises that may have been made to them, not all will be given better jobs or government appointments.

The Niger Delta oil militants who terrorised southern Nigeria a few years ago were reported to be thugs used during election campaigning who suddenly found themselves jobless - but adequately armed after the ballots had been cast.

Some of the Boko Haram insurgents currently terrorising the north were also born out of a similarly expired campaign contract.

Increased armed robberies, kidnappings and assassinations in different parts of Nigeria after elections have also been linked to youths with weapons who find an alternative use for them.

I wonder what these armies of young Nigerians will do with their laptops, smart phones and internet connections after the 2015 electoral battle - which many politicians view as Armageddon - is over.

TV/MoviesRe: Is Nudity & Porn In African Movies An Evolution Or Regression? by Sagamite(m): 8:07pm On Sep 22, 2014
finessela: By ‘Nike Adebayo

Recently, I was asked to watch and review a Ghanaian movie titled “Single & Married”, and I was filled with regret after watching it. I had just wasted 1hr 45mins of my existence on a baseless, porn-filled movie. To say I was ashamed of every actor that took part in that movie would be an understatement. Have you seen any music videos of late? They are filled with naked women jumping up and down, degrading themselves and allowing themselves to be abused by men. Which way Africa?

Over the past decade, the African movie industry (Nollywood, Ghallywood and all the other woods) have grown tremendously. The change in storyline, level of talent and standard of production that is evident in most African movies is beyond commendation. With particular focus on Nollywood/Ghallywood movie, it is evident that producers are challenging themselves to do better while the actors are taking more time to learn about the characters they portray. Indeed, the African Entertainment Industry is taking the world by storm. However, with growth comes change and that change is not always a positive one.

Nudity, sex, porn and unexplained wealth have become the order of the day in Nollywood/Ghallywood movies. There is hardly any movie or music video that does not entail any of the aforementioned. African movies have drifted away from the slogan “less is more” and have made porn/nudity the means of selling movies and music videos. Decency has been left for the dogs and protruding cleavages, tattoos and skimpy clothing is now the “selling point.” Talent has taken a back seat to the ability to wear daisy dukes shorts and cat-walk down the red carpet.

The values, morals, traditions and standards that separate African movies from others are being torn down. Some movies and music videos are destroying the foundation upon which the industry was built. Why must we be like the westerners? Can’t we grow and become civilized without trading our dignity and substance? Let a porn movie be it and let a home video be it. A combination of both is misleading, degrading and unacceptable. What about are the young ones? What impression is Nollywood laying on their innocent minds? Gone are the days when you could enjoy a home video in the company of family members; you never know what shocking display of immorality will be displayed in the movie.

Another movie that accurately depicts this insanity is “My First Wife.” From the inception of the movie, I could tell it was made for the trash. One second I’m watching an “ok” movie, and the next second they are having blown out, uncensored sex! Say what? “Aint nobody got time for that.” Yoruba movies are no exception. Movies such as “Omo Gucci” and “Ija Ashawo” are just typical example of mismanagement of funds. Imagine Dangote investing is hard earned money is such rubbish? To begin to name names and compile a list of movies/producers that have fallen prey to these evil deeds will be an absolute waste of my time and yours.

But then I ask myself, who is to blame? Do we blame the producers of the movies who allow their funds to be used in such unimaginable ways? Or do we blame the actors and actresses who partake in acts? Maybe we should blame the social media/bloggers who give airtime to and celebrate these actors/actresses? We could even blame the system/politicians/organizations who constantly dash our “awards” to mediocre actors and actresses? Who do we blame?

Looking at the totality of the circumstance, I am forced to ask myself whether the African Entertainment Industry is indeed growing and evolving or rather regressing. The impact of this wrong is felt on the society. People are influenced by what they see. There is increase in rape, nudity and money rituals. Ladies are doing all they can to wear Brazilian hair while men have turned criminals just so they can drive a 2013 Rang Rover at age of 22. Hard work now takes too long; just show your boobs, look pretty and you are star. I’m saddened, my heart is broken. Which way Africa?

contactmorak: I think there is nothing wrong with a lady saying they give a guy a chance. They say that abt any guy they agree to date even if the the guy is Mr. Universe. What I feel is more of an insult is " I'm managing him".
Nope.

There is something wrong. They say that about most guys that woo them, if you have never experienced something different then you need a self-check and never sit your arsse down and accept that with a sigh or resignation.

Trust me, there are some guys for each girl which they would be jumping up and down for if he even dials her number.

"I'm managing him" is just a lower diss below "I gave him a chance".

Any girl that dares say that to/about me would get a taciturn stare before knowing who Sagamu really is in the coming weeks.

That is just a careless unveiling of her underlying psychology, if any man is smart enough to read it well.

I prefer girls that are crazy about me and I will go for only that ..........................................[coughs] if for long term basis.

RomanceRe: Why Nigerian Girls Should NOT Be Obsessed With Men's Height? by Sagamite(m): 9:30am On Sep 22, 2014
shymexx: Words on marble. Ol'girl had to settle because she couldn't get what she wanted, and I'm sure despite being "happily married" - when a tall guy that meets whatever criteria she has in her head comes along, she'll most likely open her legs, and let him fvck her right in her pu.ss.y lol. When a chic is settling because you're what she can have at that moment - you need to run. Then again, most of these chics who're either facially challenged or just average always have a tendency to dream big about guys they can't have. Hence there are tons of female groupies everywhere.

Also, she made other ridiculous statements about tall guys and it's evident that she's either clueless, dumb, or just basically confused because she couldn't marry a tall. If tall guys (guys above 6ft) who're in the minority - less than 10% of world's population - are the only bad guys out there. I honestly don't see why women complain about guys all the time because the overwhelming majority of women marry/date short guys.

Judging folks based on height/appearance is the reason why most of these women always end up with the worst type of guys. Hating on tall guys won't change the fact that you had to settle, just because you couldn't get the man of your dreams. Life isn't perfect - just move on.
You don't run.

You smack it and excuse yourself.

I am not condemning her for her taste for tall men though. Everyone has a fundamental human right to have a taste in partner. People like different things.

What I have a problem with is the compromise and feeling of "doing him a favour".

That shyt would never happen with me.

Mettal: my bro, thats the summarization of live, you better live with,a girl is attracted to you because of money, why not treat her thence,
Nope.

You will be surprised.

Every girl has a guy that she would go weak at the knees for at first or her after her first few interactions.

If she is not like that with you, NEVER marry her. Let her find the few guys she is like that with and try her luck.

aisha2: There was a video I watched yesterday which clearly explained the epidemic Whoppi Goldberg was talking about. A lady was all up in a young black man's fave, the guy sat down calmly on his chair while she screamed screamed and cursed him infact she kept asking him to hit her, she asked him to hit her up to 10 times in the video. Our messages should be balanced, if we teach men not to hit women no matter what we should also teach women not to take advantage of that message.
Everyone has evil in them, everyone can take advantage of an unfair situation hence the need for balance in laws and messages.
Yep.

That said, I would never advocate ever being the first putting your hands on someone else except:

- You have enough justification to perceive they are about to hit your first with their approach
- They are in your way/getting in your face in what can be reasoned rationally to be your personal zone, then you can shove them backwards

The reality is that, not many men have these principles. If a man goes to another stronger man and was all up in his face, screaming and cursing him repeatedly, asking him to hit him and not relenting in his provocation, he would probably get knocked out and many of us would say well done. Even the courts.

Lesson is: If you don't want to be treated like a man, then don't be attacking men like men do, be a lady.

When women know laws would favour them, they abuse it.

Your view on this please...
If he is lucky enough for the police to respond quickly, she might be arrested and taken to court.

When she gets to court, she would likely get like an £80 fine.

If it was exactly the other way round, he would get up to 2 months jail term, a suspended sentence or hours of community service.

Welcome to the West!

And if this was not a video, and it was only reported in print, trust me, many women like EnlightenedSoul would be applauding her and saying he must have deserved it otherwise she would not have done such a thing.

You better shut the fck up before I turn on you and intellectually batter you and you would be helpless as usual to my bullying.

I will humiliate you and spoil your show with all the girls you are chasing on NL as I did the last time.

Remember, women dry up down there for a man when they see him being bullied helplessly by a superior man. You will end up being the friend zone like with the one I humiliated you in front back then.

Intellectual cockroach.
