The world's richest man and CEO of Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH), Bernard Arnault, lost $11.2 billion in one day, but is still wealthier than Elon Musk.

Musk is the second richest man in the world, with a net worth of £180 billion, $12 billion less than the 74-year-old CEO's own $192 billion.
LVMH, which encompasses brands such as Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & co., and Christian Dior took a 5% hit to its share price on Tuesday, according to Bloomberg.

The stock blow is the biggest the company has seen in over a year. Before the stock drop, Arnault’s net worth was $203 billion on Monday — $23 billion above Musk’s.

The LVMH mogul's net worth soared by $29.5 billion over the course of the last year, which can be attributed to the company's stock rising by 35% during that time.

As per Bloomberg, the stock's fall caused the European Luxury sector to be slashed by roughly $30 billion.

Despite the struggle, LVMH's share price is still up 23% for the year. The MSCI Europe Textiles Apparel & Luxury Goods Index has also risen to 27%, Bloomberg reported.

Following Musk's Twitter buyout in October 2022, his wealth took a steep drop, and he lost his position as the world's richest man to Arnault.
The purchase knocked his net worth down to $126 billion from $340 billion.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos currently sits at number three in Bloomberg's Billionaires Index - a $41 billion gap from Musk.

It was gathered that Adegoke took his life by drinking a chemical substance suspected to be sniper.

Adegoke, who was a National Diploma II student of Electrical Electronic Engineering, reportedly committed suicide on Monday, May 2, when his colleagues were preparing for the first semester exam.

It was gathered that the deceased allegedly used his school fee to play an online betting on Friday May 19, which he lost.

He was reportedly rushed to the school clinic from where he was later referred to a specialist hospital outside the school in Ilaro before he was pronounced dead.

The polytechnic spokesman, Sola Abiala, confirmed the incident on Wednesday, May 24.

“The Rector said he was called from the school clinic that one of the students is sick. Adegoke Samuel, ND 2 in Electrical Electronic Engineering was later referred to Hosanah specialist hospital. When they got there, they got the information that he used his school fees to bet and lose. He also used his roommate’s to bet and also lost,” Abala said.

"We have a policy here that any student that does not pay school fees will not write examination. He realized that he and his friend would not write the exam, that was why he committed suicide.

“We sent for his parents and briefed them. His father told us that his late son did the same last session and he had to send money to him to pay the fees . He said if he had known about the latest one, he would have paid for it.”

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that his administration embarked on a borrowing spree for projects and to create wealth.

Reiterating that his focus on infrastructure was a deliberate action to create wealth and stem poverty, the Nigerian leader said the loans they sourced for were largely used to fund capital projects for the people’s benefit.

Buhari who spoke during the virtual inauguration of some landmark projects of his outgoing government insisted that his government was transparent, especially in the application of public funds.

“As we look at the debt profile, I urge us to also look at the assets and investment profiles, some of which were paid for by debt and some by investment income.

“In eight years, I am proud to say that we have doubled Nigeria’s stock of infrastructure to GDP (Gross Domestic Product) from about 20 per cent to over 40 per cent and that is no small undertaking.

“The projects that we hand over today (yesterday), apart from others, such as rail, sea and airports, a gas pipeline that had been previously completed, symbolise our country’s sharp focus on delivering prosperity.”

He jokingly added;

“If anybody with force moves, I have a good relationship with my neighbours. Niger Republic people will defend me.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has resumed oil exploration in the Lake Chad Basin in Borno state, 6 years after it was stopped.

Officials of the NNPC Energy Service Ltd (ENSERV) said the project is being done under NNPC Frontier Exploration Service for the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, NUPRC.

Exploration commenced in 1976 and continued until 1996 with the processing of 33,000km of 2D Seismic data which identified three prospective sub-basins (Gubio, Maiduguri & Baga/Lake Area).

From this, two wells (Wadi-1 & Kinasar-1) recorded presence of noncommercial gas. Between 2008 and 2018, NNPC processed 1,962.20km2 of 3D Seismic data; in 2014, it suspended the Seismic Acquisition Operations due to insurgency. NNPC in July 2017 also announced the halt of the exploration activities after some workers recorded insurgency attacks.

Daily Trust reported that NNPC completed the security risk assessment to resume operations in 2022 to explore the Wadi-B well. Executive Director, Frontier Exploration Services at NNPC, Mukhtar Zanna, said they will be using ACME Rig 5 to drill 14,000 feet into the Wadi-B well to get oil and associated gas.

President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to join the ceremony virtually and spud-in the Wadi-B oil well drilling in Tuba community , Jere Local Government Area.
