I think there is lot of potential for Nigerian Industries in the International Market. The main problem is the Management and Infrastructure and above all the political will. The Govt. of Nigeria Policies are business-friendly but still there is a lot of work is to be done. There is tremendous possibilities of business development in the ECOWAS Region. The Customs Duty and other Taxes are very much on the higher side and with devaluation of Nigerian Naira, the people in Nigeria are now feeling the heat of inflation. The Govt. of Nigeria still has to do a lot to improve the business scenario and boost the morale of the local industries as well as Business Community.

Health / Medical Tourism In India by saintindia: 9:35am On Sep 15, 2006
MEDICAL  TOURISM  IN  INDIA

With around Oner Million tourists flocking to India for Healthcare, a USD       Medical Travel value expected by 2010, and a growth of 25% per year, medical tourism is booming like never before.

The Govt. is aggressively promoting India as a Global Healthcare destination to offer a holistic approach to health.

SAeeing the hige potential in the Sector, the Government has also started issuing M (Medical) Visas to the medical patneits and MX Visas to the spouse accompanying him, which are valid for one year.  Two lakh medical Tourists visited India last year and the figure will grow by 50% this year.

India is being promoted as a Healthcare destination in the ongoing Incredible India Campaign, being run by the Tourism Ministry.  This Campaign would promote Indian hospitals abroad as centres offering best medical services.

In addition, availing medical services in India costs about a Tenth of what it is in US. and one-sixth in UK.  Not only this, the National Accredition Board for Hospitals (NABL), A Body set up to ensure safety and hygiene norms for Hospitals, has already started the process of granting accreditions with 70 Hospitals in the process of getting approval.

As per Dr. Trehan, Chairman of CII’S National Committee on Healthcare, India now offers the latest techniques such as Robotic Surgery and Gamma-knife treatment for Brain Tumours.  The efficacy of treatment compares with at that in the West, with the death rate from coronary bypasses at 0.8% compared to 2.35 in the US.

The Government is considering the Clinical Establishment Bill that would mandate accreditation for hospitals down to the District and Village level.

In case anybody interested in knowing more about the above, please feel free to write to me at   genuine_deals@yahoo.com

Business / Re: Doing Business With 300,000 Naira Capital? by saintindia: 2:09pm On Aug 28, 2006
h Brother,
I am from India and looking for people who are interested in doing business with minimum investment. I can suggest you to go for a Food Processing outlet or an Eating Joint which just requires a small working capital but no principal investment. I have lived in Nigeria for a few years and know that there are not enough Joints which sell Fresh Fruit Juice (Citrus or Non-Citrus). Nigeria has ample production of Oranges, Mangos, etc. during Season but I have not seen any shop selling Fresh Juices. Most of the Supermarkets, whether Bigger ones like MEGA PLAZA or small ones, are selling mainly Canned Juices and that too with expired dates. Anyway, incase you are interested, pls contact me through e. mail at saint.in@gmail.com so that I can send you details. We Indians have learned from our experience and don't depend for these small things, on big MNCs. You know Coke and Pepsi working. They always kill local Industries to promote their Aerated Drinks (Cola etc) which is not fit for human consumption. Anyway, we can supply you small Manual/Electrically operated machines for extracting JUICE the price range between USD 100 to USD 150 each. You can try importing 10-12 machines for Trial purpose in the market and in case you feel that suits your market and you can make money by selling it to small time people who are looking to start some bsns with minimum investment. I am sure you will find many such people but there has to be someone who can import these Machines and sell in Nigeria.
