That low income earners are exempted. please what is the definition of low income earners because the people collecting the minimum wage of #70000 will still pay tax or didn't you do the mathematics: #70000*12 = #840000.

The exempted threshold is #800000 and they are shouting low income earners are exempted,so who are the low income earners if the most miserably paid government worker is being taxed?

Let's stop deceiving ourselves and ask for sincerity and accountability. Payment of tax is not a problem but the deceit and corruption in governance

Tinubu was not foolish to wait for PMB to finish his tenure before stepping up. Even if ATIKU steps down, OBI will not win as the SW and North will prefer Tinubu finishes his tenure than vote another southerner for an 8year tenure.

But, what do we have co+conspirators in the executives, mandate standers in the legislative and baba-sope in the judiciary.
So, Nigerians have been scammed but all hope is not lost, whey we get angry, we learn to initiate recall process on these legislators.

As per as churches, I believe every church has a welfare system, if you are really part of it you will know how to access it. And if you find yourself on one that doesn't, simply gently introduce and give them time to structure it out.

They use this popular line " If you dey earn small money, Government no go chop your salary wella. But if your salary don big, dem go cut small higher percentage."

But what most people fail to understand is that the tax starts at 800k per year.

Not 800k per month for earners but 800k per year.

How much is 800k per year?

It's 66k per month.

Essentially, if you're earning 66k per month, the government feels you're a "big" earner and should be taxed.

The minimum wage in the country is 70k per month.

This means all minimum wage earners will fall into this tax bracket.

So, who exactly are the "small small earners" that will be exempted from this new tax that they keep pushing?

No one. Essentially, Tinubu is taxing everybody but because it's wrapped in per year, most people have no idea they will be taxed.

There's no accountability on the ones they have been collecting, no ripple effect of the subsidy removal on fuel, electricity, higher institution school fees etc.
Also, the tax issue is cloudy, there was an accusation against the executive by the legislators who is constitutionally empowered to check them, instead of coming out to defend themselves, it was insult and gaslighting as of that's not enough we heard FIRS headquarters got gutted with fire.
So, following the issue, it is very important for people to become apprehensive, it is the responsibility of a well-intentioned government to make clarification
