If you look closely these people were not very wealthy but they cared about their people and commanded tremendous respect. Seems many desperate politicians that can't live their lives without being getting juicy money from government purse are the majority. When the time comes to choose the VP and the presidential candidates, if they choose atiku and obi (which happens to be formidable) respectively, that is when their true colours will come out. Best bet is for them to play a smart one against atiku because he believes no one is greater than him in that formation and will always get away with anything. Same with el rufai, but power play will still follow and many will be disappointed. Is it not Nigerian politicians? Very untrustworthy fellas.
Their method to win the next election will likely use students force and youths to instigate against the current regime and attack them in anywhere they campaign and to use their foot soldiers to destroy anything APC, but I don't think APC will release power easily like that. I would have love to see a new political party to challenge this man.
With this, I don't see the coalition really serious about winning the election, many issues will start rising genuinely because the party was hijacked which would not have been if it happens to be a new party.
Hope they know PDP will field a candidate, LP will also field one too. Don't write off the dividing effect of these parties. Remember it's only the masses that's bothered about governance, what concern these people is power and politics which is all about interest.

In most cases, people that are competent knows what they have invested into themselves and has drawn a personal goal for themselves in which working in an establishment makes them add value to the system. The inability of the boss to order them around at their whims and fancies make the boss tag them disloyal in most cases. Meanwhile the incompetent ones complement their incompetency with loyalty. One appeals to your logic, the other one appeals to your emotions. Loyalty is more compensated than competence that's why there's eye-service everywhere.
It's difficult to judge loyalty and disloyalty logically so, it's a personal thing. I've seen the extreme of both sides practically and I can bet many so called loyalty are just emotional manipulation on the boss for personal reasons.

Btw, loyalty over competence is the reason Nigeria is like this and will continue to remain like this.
