I think there is little need trying too hard to defend the value of the naira. In my opinion I think it will be good if the government allow market forces determine the exact value of the naira. Production is down, oil prices are also on the decline. The best way is not to score cheap public praises of the strength of the naira while in office but to see beyond propaganda and sycophancy. |
PDP is Bayelsa and Bayelsa is PDP. Love and miss you GEJ. |
At the fullness of time, our President body language will clear the sea of excess ship. |

The Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, has said the All Progressives Congress will not pose a serious threat to his re-election bid in the December 5 governorship election. He said this on Saturday in an interview with journalists at the sidelines of the 2015 Ojude Oba festival in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. Dickson, who was in company with a former governor of Bayesla State, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, explained that the APC had only engaged in mere propaganda against his administration in the run-up to the election. He said, “For all of us in Bayelsa, we know there is no challenge, contest or threat of any kind. All you have heard or read about us is all propaganda. There is no APC in Bayelsa to threaten us.” The governor urged the people of the state and other Nigerians to disregard the criticisms and unfounded allegations against his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, by APC chieftains. Dickson, who said his late mother hailed from Ijebu Ode, commended the Ijebu people for the promotion of culture, through huge investment in the sector. He advised parents to always teach their children about culture and tradition, adding that such would help in fostering development and nation building. He said, “I’m not here today for politics, I’m here to honour our father and also to celebrate with my friends here and others in the ‘regberegbes,’ particularly my own group, the Jagunmolus, and all the people of our country from far and near. “I am very delighted with the colourful cultural display that I have seen here today. This is what we have been preaching back then, we want our children to know about our tradition and culture and to make them know that our tradition still has dignity.” The Awujale and the paramount ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, said the Ijebu people were proud of their roots and cultural heritage, stressing that the Ojude Oba festival had become a rallying point for the sons and daughters of the town. He noted that they would not relent in making significant contributions to Nigeria’s socio-economic and political development. www.punchng.com/news/apc-cant-stop-my-re-election-dickson-boasts/ |
Reski:Do you know why organization gives allowance to staff? |
Most people don't know why organization gives allowance to staff. Sai Baba hailers don't seem to reason that they constantly request for salary increments in their places of work yet will reject same being paid to another. That is hypocrisy! My advice: Pay allowance to the one who give you security for you never can tell when your enemy will strike |
Bobbystanley:I hail o! |
talk2omon:He is out long time ago. Bayelsa is PDP and PDP is Bayelsa |
nzeobi:I think you are right. But APC are bent on taking Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa. |
Bayelsa is PDP and PDP is Bayelsa. Case closed |
FORMER Bayelsa State Governor, Chief Timipre Sylva yesterday, described as a ‘hoax’ the order for rescheduled governorship primary election by the national leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC). In a statement issued in Yenagoa by the Timipre Sylva Campaign for the Bayelsa State 2015 gubernatorial election and signed by his aide, Doifie Buokoribo, Sylva dismissed media reports that two other governors will be joining their Edo State counterpart, Adams Oshiomhole, to organise a fresh APC governorship primary election in Yenagoa on Tuesday. It would be recalled that Sylva laid claim to the APC governorship ticket after the party’s primary election was disrupted when armed hoodlums stormed the venue and disrupted proceedings causing Oshiomole, who was to supervise the polls, to allegedly abandon the exercise. Sylva said the reports of a rescheduled election is a “cruel hoax,” stressing that there was no way a fresh primary could be organised, as it would amount to “an act of illegality.” The statement reads in part: “As at yesterday, Governor Aminu Tambuwal is in far away New York, attending the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), while his counterpart in Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun, is attending Hajj in Saudi Arabia. Are they going to conduct a virtual election? Despite the orchestrated lies and disinformation, the Sylva Campaign will again urge our teeming supporters to be law-abiding, peaceful but resolute. Victory is sure.” Meanwhile, senator representing Bayelsa Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Paulker Emmanuel, yesterday broke his silence on the reason for his disqualification from race for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship ticket, alleging that the party lacked internal democracy. Paulker said, though the Screening Committee of the PDP at the Zone has not officially informed him of the outcome of the screening, he was disqualified because some members of the APC in the state attended his recent Thanksgiving Service. Paulker, who was disqualified alongside a former Commissioner for Sports, told a forum of members of his campaign organisation that the earlier claim of non-availability of tax clearance by the screening committee as a reason for disqualification was a dummy. www.ngrguardiannews.com/2015/09/bayelsa-elections-sylva-kicks-against-fresh-apc-primaries/ |
There is nothing wrong in suspending the constitution. There are some countries without Democratic rule yet still succeed. Not my opinion its Dr Lame |
thekingsmen:I agree in totality of the analysis of Tonye Barcanista as well. But yours seem to be more realistic considering the way politics is played in Nigeria. I know that Saraki will come out to fight dirty until all possible avenue to keep him in office had been exhausted. |
ERAKAMUS:This and many more fruits of innovation are today claimed to have been done by body language. |

FORMER President, Goodluck Jonathan, has stated that the introduction of innovations such as the Treasury Single Account (TSA) and the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) by the ex-Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance during his administration, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, are some of the qualities that led to her two new global positions. http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/2015/09/okonjo-iwealas-innovations-led-to-tsa-ippis-says-jonathan/ |
Nigeria can never go into recession. The reason is that current administration don't look at recession as something very serious. To them, so long as the prices of local commodities such as cows, beans, rice, garri etc never change, it is OK. This is what they understand as governance. Little wonder some people from one of the political parties was even suggesting the suspension of the constitution to enable a speedy approach to delivering promises made. |
Ghandi12:Don't you think our constitution should be suspended to enable a speedy approach to in bringing the much needed dividend of democracy to Nigerian |
Nigeria is on the right track things will get better |
ahaika23:Just few months ago Timi Alaibi was in PDP whining and dining with the 'who is who'in the political platform of Nigeria. Then something went wrong he decided to defect to another political party of his choice. He did not consult Bayelsans before he decided to defect. What makes you think he will consult you if he decide to defect to another political party of his choice. Summary never take politicians seriously.! |
ahaika23:Alaibi was a strong member of PDP. He was whining and dining with the 'who is who' in the Nigeria political platform. Then suddenly things turn sour. He defected without consulting me and you. Today he is in APC his sins and whatever that may have caused the switch has been forgiven. Certainly the day Alaibi will defect to another political party of his choice he will not consult me and you. So in summary never take politicians seriously. |
This amount is even on the high side. What will they eat or drink that will raise the amount to such outrageous sum.? The highest will be N5million at most. |
There is nothing wrong with what is happening. l think if the process does not favour him in APC he can defect to another political party of his choice. There should be zero bitterness. |
This is exactly what would have happened if the downstream oil sector was deregulated. But you see people high level of hypocrisy and propaganda would not allow this to see the light of the day. Mention removal of fuel subsidy and see tribal and myopic bigots heading to occupy Ojota and Abuja. You can't eat your cake and have it. |
muhyeenisce:OK make I spread mat dey wait. make my waiting no be till my children marry born o! |
I think so many things will happen between now and 2019 but none of them look like Saraki ever going to jail. Beside was it not this same guy most APC fans were hailing when he defected from the PDP? What happened to the alliance? |
muhyeenisce:I never see new Nigeria o! |
A new Nigeria indeed.! |
