I'm pretty sure the bulk of single mothers didn't go thru what you described. Majority of women, when they have a bad relationship with the man, try to get back at him via the kids. A man doesn't hve to be in a good relationship with the woman b4 they raise their kids. Women try to turn their kids against the man. Thinking they're hurting him till its too late. Then they start calling the man to come and handle the damaged kid.
