A profitable trader targeting 1% per month would still experience some bad months, say 4 out of 12months: in the long run, it is still a win, a profitable one but it means 4 months win will break even 4months loss, we are left with 4 profitable months = 4%, if similar thing happens in the following year, that's 2 years ish just to pass phase 1 and then phase 2 is waiting.

If similar stuff happens is phase 2, that's another 1year ish, so a total of 3years ish is expected to win for someone looking for 1% using 0.01 lot to get 1000 pips every month.

This I will say is more tensed on psychology when it takes forever just to be funded. Does that mean that trader would not have spent far more than what is expected on data, feeding, contingencies like broken charger, laptop or phone, petrol on gen, or inverter installation and maintenance. How would this person be able to focus with all these challenges?

I could advise between 0.05 - 0.1 max lot per trade on the $10K, with that, you don't need 8000 pips to pass phase 1 only.

Above all, if I see a company that can believe in my skills and obtain a $5M prop account, then I can do the 1% monthly and trade it for 2 to 3years cos with that I know the worth of what I'm dieing for, other than that: it's a waste of time for me.

If you are to trade a $10k prop challenge and can only trade 0.01lot (10cents per tick) one position max at a time. And can only trade gold, Dax, dow, ndx, oil. How long will it take you to hit 8%?
Is it a waste of time or something that is truly the way to go?

i go dey trade 1 every 2weeks, and switch to the next if i don't hit my target or i hit a particular equity
i nor wan dey overstress 1 account again 😂

Haha, I swear, my first withdrawal, I initially had plan to buy 200k prop with it before, but now, I need to withdraw it in cash and put it at home and look at it everyday as a source of motivation!

I won't spend it, just like aquarium kinda stuff. That yes, the money is real indeed. I'm just getting warmed up bro, Darwinex, Etoro etc. All of them go collect. Thanks brotherly.

The best loser wins
I don’t cheer myself if I win, and I don’t beat myself up when I lose. It’s just part of the trade distribution. That’s why it’s funny to see people congratulate or comfort each other for the outcome of a single trade. For me as a trader, it’s all irrelevant.

We all trade to make money, but ironically the less we focus on it the better results we usually get. Being unattached to the monetary side leaves us humans make better decisions in financial markets. If you concentrate on winning, that is to be right, you’re probably going to lose. If you ignore winners and start cutting losses while they’re still small, you have mathematically a chance to become profitable. When I exit a position, winner or loser, all I think about is to take the next trade.

Focus on learning a new subject of interest every day at least for 30 minutes.

For example: You can start watching videos related to Austrian School of Economics or philosophy or even football tactics

What you will realize is how much you do not know about the new subject area - this will humble you.

Learning about this new subject area of interest is a healthy distraction which will provide you an avenue on what to think of whilst your trade is running or in profit.

There's no difference. Unless someone would have to lie to you to help him trade a demo meanwhile it's a live account. That's the only remedy. Once you are aware of what's at stake. The psychology will kick in again, and you start over planning.

It's just the psychology at play here. I think this psychological aspect is what's taking most of us years to master and not really the trading aspect per se.

Because you treat it as what it is "Demo". If it was live account, would you still have your stoploss at breakeven even after more than 1200pips move? Truly it's demo, but we shouldn't be treating it as such. Whenever I lost on demo when I was still backtesting, I always had mood swings.

I traded demo as if it was live account. I even stopped participating in those free monthly competitions since December last year, because of the effect it was having on my trading performances. If care is not taken, that's how one will spend 10years going in cycles.
