Biochemistry is a teaches you the chemistry of living cells and molecules while Pharmacology teaches u the effect of drugs on the living cells.

I wanna ask a question dat brought controversy to me and a friend.When we are discusssing of medical courses and i made mention pharmacy,he said i shdnt call pharmacy a medical course cos it is not under medical but am still convincing him dat pharmacy also belongs to medical course,he said no dat only the courses under college of health sciences/medicine are medical course.
Now can we call a pharmacy student a medical student or not

A pharmacy student is both a medical and a physical/chemical science student.
Pharmacy is d profession that directly links the medical profession to the other fields.

Try meet ur snr colleague to get the name of text ur school uses. Meanwhile, for pharmacognosy, try to read on plants microscopical/macroscopical features features, also try to get Pearson anatomy and physiology text and using outlines read the needed parts.

To be an extraordinary student, I have come to understand you must work beyond what you are been taught in class.

at uniben.its still 60% for pharmacy law and ethics ,and also for dispensing,i see dispensing as being easy to pass,a lot of peeps have straight A's,being good in dispensing means being extremely accurate in ur weighing and preparations,i dont like pharmacognosy very much, la cram la pour la forget ,zehahaha

At first, I never liked Pharmacognosy but begun to appreciate it few weeks to exam and its a nice department I must say.

Both you and dokintadotun have a point. In pharmacology, there is pharmacokinetics-what d body does it d drug, and pharmacodynamics-what d drug does to the body. The.bad effect if drugs is an interplay between ,the intrinsic property of a drug and d genetic makeup of individual. For example, phenytoin over a long time causes gingival hypertrophy. Sulphur drugs like Sulphadiazine causes black discoloration and rashes to some people.

That field sounds like toxicology.

2009 the journey into the cold arms of this handsome man started, he was the cutest thing I've ever come across in my entire life even as a fresh high school Leaver! I'm not a gay but I really admired his charming looks! He was so popular amongst my friends I wished I could gain half the fame he had!
Finally! Finally!! Finally!!! I gained Admission into the arms of my crush! My joy knew no bounds! I hugged him so tight and savored each moment the hug lasted! I finally gain admission into the university of port-harcourt to study PHARMACY after writing utme for 5times! 5times of frustration, pain, anger, shame, mockery and delay!

The students affairs division of the Akwa Ibom State University has released a notice
indicating the names of Six (6) Students of the University that have been expelled for
various offences.
Okokon Eno-obong Nkaimaha a 300 level student, Dept of English & Literary studies
and Daniel Mbetobong Sunday a 300 level student, Dept of Political Science were
expelled for theft offences.
While Ernest Michael Ufia a 100 level student Electrical Engineering Dept, Leonard
Christopher Inyanga 200 level student, Civil Engineering Dept, Minne Akpe Ndunofit a
300 level student, Agriculture Engineering Dept. and Joseph Jackson Nse a 400 level
student Geo-science were expelled for their involvement in cult related offences.
This Notice follows the University’s Senate verdict after series of investigations and
evidences presented of the above named students involved.
The six students have their photographs pasted in the both campuses for the
knowledge of every member of the University community.
Meanwhile, further investigations are still ongoing on other reported non-social
activities of some students.

The course outline will come from your school.
But then let me brief u on d nature of the program :
100level- Pre-pharmacy(science student not a pharmacy student you are)
II00level- Pharmacy school proper and Pre-pharmacology school.
III00level- Pharmacology school proper
IV00level-Pre-clinicals
V00level- finals and Clinical

NB: there are many dept(a minimum of 5) in the faculty of Pharmacy and you as a student belongs to all the department.
Passmark is 50% and 60%(for dispensing and pharm jurisdiction).
The course is easy but, time consuming.

Don't be quick to blame the Physician? What about the Pharmacist? The Pharmacist is a drug expert, "his life is drug" so, if he had gotten not the right advice from the Pharmacist then the pharmacist has to be siezed of his licence.

Yes Boss, I'm alright to think that nobody did any wrong.

I never pointed at the drug firm, when I said nobody, I meant nobody.

In a situation like this, even if the patient had failed to report adverse reaction on time nor keep to medical advice, we can't say he's at fault, cos he acted on ignorance. It only robs him of a right to lay claims on the firm or the medical team.

So, nobody did wrong!

Why out of ignorance? That then will mean he wasn't adviced properly which puts either the Pharmacist or Physician at fault.

We must learn to tell ourselves the truth without emotional sentiments.
