Oduduwaboy: Hmmm. since the day you descended as low as to join johesu, a lot of doctors lost respect for you guys. We always saw you guys as equals right from the university days. At least in Ife those days we knew you guys also passed through the furnace, but things began to change when you started joining the middle-level man-power lab technicians & cleaners to subvert doctors! Lol.... You are indeed funny. Before JOHESU came to been did the Nigerian Physicians ever accord the Pharmacist her respect? And talking about heading a hospital? Do you mean those reading Hospital Administration are fools? |

ceaser: Well NASU has not haboured the unthinkable yet, have they? Tgey have not asked to be made the VC or Head of Academic departments yet. The day they try tge unthinkable is the day they start going down like johesu. There is unity and accord between ASUU and NASU cos the later knows their work description and held onto it. That is why the interdependence and mutual respext has existed. Matter of fact, NASU rides on the providence and tenacity of ASUU when engaging the government to also get their (NASU) demands and not by saying that they want to be equalled with the former. ASUU always encourages NASU behind the scenes not to give up when engaging the government.
But what obtains in tbr health sector? johesu planning a coup and expecting the government to be indifferent. I mean where on this earth does that happen? You can't just wake up one day and say you wan to start residency without willing to "do residency in tge real sense of it". That is by giving up your permanent employment, run your program for nothing less than four years and be ready to be booted out of that facility in renewed search for job the moment you become a "consultant". You must be ready to stay non-pensionable. I mean, you can't eat your cake and have it. That'll be gross injustice. wow! A Pharmacist is nw synonymous to NASU. . . Is dat so? |

QueenAzibar: yes its sad. pharmacists in nigeria are downgrading themselves. their mates outside Nigeria are formulating new drugs, but they are satisfied with selling drug( which every tom dick and harry on d street can do) and mixing ( not making) the occassional mist mag and cough mix, and fighting doctors. What do you expect the pharmacist here in Nigeria to do and how? |

drered: Lol. You need to see the bigger picture.. Its all intertwined. Knowing one w/o the other is not knowing either. You could end up anywhere so you need to be equipped with your pharmaceutical chemistry, clinicals and pharmacognosy. Even in community pharmacy practise there are lot of things u can tell about a drug by merely looking at its structure such as its instability profile and proper storage. You could find yourself in nafdac analysing drugs and a sound knowledge of your pharmaceutical chemistry will suffice. There are universities in india that deal purely with phytopharmaceuticals to show you how relevant your pharmacognosy is. You can't just be a "pharmaceutics pharmacist" or a "clinical pharmacist". You have to be an all rounder. Thank you sir |

drered: Alabukun contains aspirin and caffeine and panadol extra acetaminophen(paracetamol) and caffeine.. Caffeine is a stimulant and his daily intake should amount to over a 100mg so he might already be dependent on it and getting him off it won't come easy.. You should ask him what he's taking the meds for as he might need this meds for chronic conditions like arthritis. Eitherway taking the two meds might not be necessary but then u also won't be able to evaluate if either will be effective. Chronic use of NSAIDs such as aspirin can cause ulcer so you should present him with the facts but not without asking the necessary questions first.. Seconded........ *******no ask me 4 explanation o, jst knw say I second wetin the Pharmacist talk******** |
