ValeeLove: what? You're not the only one with preference? There are many Mexicans that watch WWE. You guys have had it your way for years. Maybe it's time give them their own 'style' for once. I'm sure you'd love it regardless.
The more you talk, the more I'm convinced you know nothing and you continue to prove me right. Triple A has had their wacky characters for years long before WWE bought them. Mexican Wrestling has had their gimmicks long before WWE. You even made a statement that you don't care about Mexico's history. Nobody go take you serious on any wrestling forum if you talk this one.
ValeeLove: Ospreay has ring psychology. He's literally one of if not the best wrestler on the planet.
Flip flops, No selling and kicking out of every move like an anime fight doesn't make you best wrestler. It makes him a choreographer more than a wrestler.
ValeeLove: these points are quite weak. At least you recognise that nicknames exist. That settles it. Some of these characters have nicknames and little personas they love to have fun with and it's entirety still isn't a gimmick. It's a wrestler playing a character who has a nickname and personas he loves to have fun with. For instance MJF's Burberriness isn't a gimmick, it's just a fun persona that the character likes to have. If it was a gimmick, it would have been the center of his world and the wrestlers would believe that the persona draws him money in real life. Ridiculous. So MJF doesn't wear Burberry in real life, or he isn't rich in real life? Must he do bad things before you accept that he's just playing a character and not a gimmick?
Was Max rich in real life prior to being in AEW? Because a character isn't doing comedy or supernatural doesn't mean it's not a gimmick. He's simply playing a part and you fell in love with that. Just like a viewer falls in love with an actor. The difference is that you can't see it's make believe.
It's really obvious that long promos aren't part of Jordynne Grace strengths. Why do they persist she fit into the WWE mould of long written promos? Accentuate the Strengths, hide the weakness as Cornette says. How was Blake Monroe able to get a contract for no physicality until the PPV? I don't get Lainey Reid. She made her debut undermining Jacy Jayne, now she's trying to cozy up to her.
Jaumo: Some mix everything together with the given percentage/formula. example: 7-8 kg rice, 2 kg chicken meal, 1 kg fish meal, 1/2 kg wheat offal (mainly for healthy digestion) .
cook till the rice is soft, then add red oil while the rice is still hot.
but I normally cook the rice half done before adding chicken meal or/with fish meal because they are rendered product already processed/cooked.
ValeeLove: this is the last time I'm going to say it. I'm all for character, not gimmick. The wrestling characters are between heels and faces. The gimmicks however have nothing to do with wrestling characters. They are externally gotten and that's it. Darby is unique in the sense that his gimmick is who he is in real life, only that he brings it to wrestling. Like Brit Baker. Ospreay has no gimmick. The fact that according to you likes Assassin's Creed and incorporates it to his displays simply means he's doing it for fun, not as a part of his character. I don't see him talking about Assassin's creed all day. Wrestlers wear costumes for their entrances. It's the same logic. No gimmick. Israel Adesanya is the last style bender; how does that help him win a match though? All fun. Nothing serious.
Ospeay Na gimmick maybe that's why he lacks match psychology. I kick outta everything and win like a video game. Isreal Adesanya boasts about being the style bender, a nickname. UFC and Wrestling no be the same. UFC fighters aren't playing characters on TV. There's no element of make belief in UFC.
Until I hear Maxwell doing the things he professes on TV. Na character, him dey play. He's a gimmick. It's why certain folks who claim to be gangsta rappers get found out. You can't claim to rap about a lifestyle you haven't lived.
ValeeLove: no. It's because we grew up watching something serious, at least for the most part. People like Dusty, Ric, Bret, Michaels; their work ethic make us take it serious. It's why guys like Doink were never main eventers. Again, since you like it, I hope you see it in Mania's main event next year.
ValeeLove: this has nothing to do with New Japan and I don't care about Mexico's history. This is not wrestling. Simple. Imagine if this is what we grew up watching over Cena, Orton and Austin. Imagine the next Wrestlemania littered with circus characters from top to bottom. Haba.
Bcoz we grew up on American wrestling. Even those American wrestling sef get some undercard guys wey dey do comedy. Even NJPW has Toru Yano.
The likely end (I hope not) of one the best action franchises. I thought Dead Reckoning was incredible and really looked forward to this one.
While it mostly stuck the landing, endings are not easy to execute, it lacked a bit in antagonism. Gabriel was not as menacing here, maybe losing the Entity's backing had something to do with it.
Still, impossible missions is what we're here for, the submarine sequence was just as spectacular as the trains in the last movie. There was adequate tension and intrigue through out and I would very much love to see more of this.
8/10
We only praise chinko and non Hollywood movies here. You dn buy market
My guy who discovered a Chris Jericho Vs. OMEGA NJPW 2018 match suddenly thinks he's moses who found the burning bush. Anyone who dares have a different opinion is on what his ideal wrestling sport is sprouts heresy. What counts as wrestling in Japan varies with Mexico. Same Event, different audience. Please look up Mexican wrestling history before you continue to embarrass yourself. Mexico has the oldest wrestling promotion till date. We may not like their silly gimmicks but please don't say it's not wrestling because it doesn't align with your vision. It's more than a sport there, it's tradition.
CoolUsername: Ironically enough, at the time, that was Brock's gimmick. His gimmick was that he was a legit ass-kicker in a world of sports entertainers. His character, however, evolved from someone who just destroyed everybody to the grizzled veteran who put Cody Rhodes through hell to prepare him for the Roman Reigns rematch.
Logan Paul's real-life douchebaggery has to do with him doing anything for money and clout. He just leans into it to elevate his wrestling gimmick. His wrestling gimmick is that he is an outsider who thinks he's better than veterans and will brag about it constantly.
I can buy Lesnar as an ass kicker. He's got the amateur wrestling and UFC to back it up.
I can buy Logan as a disrespectful piece of shit human being because of his Japanese suicide video and crypto scam. He's also legit rich af
I can buy Kyle Fletcher and Takeshita, both whom claim to be the best by simply beating their opponents 1,2,3 in the ring. They have the physical size to do it and there's no outlandish personality with them.
No be person wey dey try to convince me say he be devil on screen, meanwhile he never hurt fly real life. You're just a dude playing a dude. That's gimmick.
ValeeLove: I don't see your point. Are you saying MJF must be a heel in real life? A heel is a character in wrestling. He's doing his job. But he's not showcasing a character that is away from the wrestling structure. Simple. Look at Ospreay for instance. Arguably the best wrestler today - what's his gimmick? Brock nko? Roman? Gimmicks are already leaving which is a good thing. The next thing we eliminate are storylines and the world will be a better place.
My guy you still fail to see you fell in love with a gimmick. Wrestling structure or not all na still character he dey play. It's make believe. If the Maxwell in real life isn't what he's showing on screen, then he's acting simple and short. It's the same for Dominik Mysterio. No be until you do comedy or spooky antics before it's a gimmick.
Look at Darby Allin, that reckless Daredevil you see on screen is who he is real life. He's always doing dangerous stuff.
Brock has no gimmick, he dominated UFC. He's not playing a character.
Tribal Chief /head of table was a gimmick.
Will Ospreay Nickname is the aerial assassin. It comes from Assassins Creed Game series. the assassins creed entrance and costume he has Na wetin? Man's finisher is literally named the hidden blade. Except say Ospreay go ninja school train real life, himself Na gimmick.
If you're looking for heels without Gimmick. Takeshita doesn't have a gimmick. Kyle Fletcher doesn't have one. Logan Paul is a douchebag real life.
ValeeLove: You guys are really not going to condemn AAA & WWE for showcasing those things on TV? You know when Cody said that Brock returning is good because as a result of their deal with ESPN WWE is moving to a sports based product; I knew it was marketing talk at best. And Triplemania proved that. Wrestling moved from the circus to the sport, back to the circus.
LMAO. Lucha na another crazy world on him own. Mexican wrestling and Triple A in particular has always had such silly characters. They see it as part of their traditions. I saw some of those contestants far back on Lucha Underground.
ValeeLove: so this is what I mean when I say he's not or barely a gimmick: 1. Tailored suit: How many people wear that? It's virtually everywhere if the wearer can afford. It's clothing, not particular to anyone and not special. How many times does he talk about his special attire? So much for a gimmick he barely emphasizes.
2. Cocky, a*shole: Traits of a heel. Nothing special. No gimmick there.
3. EC3 doppelganger: EC3 is a heel. That's it. However he expressed his heel nature different from others is based on his real life character and knowledge at minimum. No gimmick. You say MJF masks his character with class and appearance; there's not evidence on ground to back this. I know he did something of sort with Punk and his face turn, but that's more of a story than a gimmick if you ask me.
Now what is a gimmick in wrestling? A gimmick is a character that has absolutely nothing to do with wrestling. That means it has absolutely nothing to do with sport combat, ring psychology and heel & face dynamics. It's just an exclusive character wrestlers create. Like Seth's Messiah gimmick, he's fashionista gimmick, he's choir master gimmick, etc. MJF on the other hand hasn't really done something to fully quantify as a gimmick in recent times. Back in the day he did the presidential gimmick. But today he's more himself just expressed in a heelish persona and in some traits he tends to exaggerate which I call bad work ethic. That's what I see.
Hate to break it to you bud, such exaggerated traits na still gimmick and you fell for it. It's not until someone does a comedic or ojuju routine that makes it a gimmick. Old school Heels had fans throwing things and threatening em. They did it so convincingly that people thought it was their real personality. It wasn't until kayfabe broke that fans found out such antics weren't true. I don't need to tell you this much, you sef dey listen to Cornette podcast. Has Maxwell done any of such tasteless antics real life? No? Then Na gimmick you dey see so.
Back on SmackDown to feud with Solo and his bloodline again🙄. They're also teasing another Tiffany vs Nia Jax match again. i'm tired of her stale ass reign abeg. Giulia continues to do nothing.
He's doing the tailored-suit wearing young, cocky rich asshole prick thing EC3 did. The only difference is MJF uses that to mask the insecurities of his character. Na the Gimmick be that. Before you tell me that Max is being himself. How come we never heard any negative stories about him in the companies he worked for? No bad attitude stories like young Randy and Carlito.
No Real life politicking or backstabbing. I know Triple H politicked his way to the top.
How affluent is his family before he started wrestling? I know Del Rio comes from wealthy family.
Ric Flair is himself. He's known for living an expensive lifestyle that results in bankruptcy all too often. He's been married and divorced so many times. That's his playboy lifestyle.
LordAdam16: Only + about Smoke is the cinematography.
Someone needs to arrest the showrunners for that crime of a finale.
-Lord
Apple no dey miss. Apple no dey miss. This Apple fall from tree, loss inside bush. The show had so many unlikeable characters, coupled an unsatisfactory finale that felt flat or rather 'fat'. The culprit was revealed to be fat.
ValeeLove: no it's not a gimmick, it's bad work ethic. He may see himself as a gimmick, but what makes people like him is him work in the ring and in character. Burberry belt, diamond ring - are you talking about style and preferences? That's not enough time quantify a gimmick. You want to see a gimmick? Look at Wyatt Six.
They're all gimmicks bro,Playing characters on TV. The fact you like one doesn't separate that fact. What you see on TV isn't how that person is backstage ,behind the scenes except maybe Logan Paul(That one scam people with crypto project real life). MJF isn't different from what EC3 did in TNA early in his career.
