European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Brighton Vs Chelsea (3 - 0) On 14th February 2025 by sammiewrite(m): 7:28am On Feb 15, 2025
Chelsea is not going through anything different from other clubs ala United, everything is down to the owners.

From one terrible decision to another, and that is how you arrive here. Their problem is not Maresca. Their problem is the incompetence and arrogance of their top hierarchy.
Whether their fan base likes it or not, none of their current players can start in Liverpool, Arsenal, City, New Castle or even Aston Villa. If you doubt me, let the club say they want to sell any of those players today, that is when they will realize, just like United, that they had been alone in their folly.

If there isn't more to these their useless buys (I seriously doubt it though), they should copy the Real Madrid or even Brighton template: Get your scout to beam their search light on young, raw talents from South America particularly. Those boys are eager to play their hearts out and escape generational poverty. Plus, they come cheaper.
PoliticsRe: 2027: I’m Available – AfDB Boss, Adesina Hints On Running For Presidency by sammiewrite(m): 8:22pm On Feb 10, 2025
Maybe by his statement Mr. Adesina means he would take up federal appointments. Anything else and he is simply setting himself up. They will drain him financially by activating EFCC or simply outspending him. Even at governorship level, millions are paid to get other candidates to step down or concede their votes. And this is even besides what he will pay so called delegates. If he thinks this is a joke, he should ask the likes of Saraki, Amaechi, or Wike!
PoliticsRe: I Have Proof Binani Defeated Fintiri In Adamawa – Sacked REC Claims by sammiewrite(m): 10:20am On Feb 10, 2025
Atiku visited the Binani woman last week! I dunno, but there could be some element of truth to what the man is saying. But Nigerians always running wild with emotions. They are not even giving him the benefit of doubt.
CrimeRe: Woman In Tears As ₦243K Vanishes 20 Minutes After ATM Seizes Card(photos/video) by sammiewrite(m): 6:02pm On Feb 08, 2025
This same First Bank is why I stopped using ATM especially if it's not my bank's. On this particular occasion, their bank's ATM seized my card and when I went inside to retrieve it, I was told it can't be released to me, that it was one stupid CBN policy. I mean, they won't release the card to me, and won't release it to my bank either. Very anyhow bank.
PoliticsRe: Kidnappers Of Maharazu Tsiga Demand ₦250M Ransom by sammiewrite(m): 1:29pm On Feb 08, 2025
Can't say I'm happy with the recent developments but I think it is getting us somewhere. I'm very sure just like the case of the former CP of Lagos whose wife was kidnapped last month in Ogun, by the time all of this is over, some of those kidnappers will be six foot under, and a lot more of them will be arrested! Which is a win for the ordinary Nigerians who don't have access to a service rifle or retinue of guards.

It is unfortunate it had to get to this, but if this is what is needed to get our leaders to prioritize us the way they prioritise their lives and family, then long may it continue. Next is those useless governors who have refuse to sign the death penalty for those god forsaken bastards.
SportsRe: Kelechi Iheanacho Joins Middlesbrough On Loan From Sevilla by sammiewrite(m): 9:17am On Feb 04, 2025
When you treat your job that is paying the bills like a side hustle, you fizzle before your time. Neymar, Martial, Raheem Sterling, Jack Grealish, Darwin Nunez, Lingard, even Rashford. They won't invest in their body like Ronaldo or delay gratification like Son. Instead of focusing on football, you'll start seeing them at different night clubs and tatoo shops.
EducationRe: Academics Raise Concerns Over Declining Standards As Students Rely More On AI by sammiewrite(m): 10:49am On Feb 02, 2025
They want to keep teaching courses like botany, sociology, political science, fine arts, even library science--topics/issues that their students can't relate to at any level, but are surprised their students are using AI for assignments?

Well, I wouldn't entirely fault the lamenting lecturers because they didn't approve the courses they're taking, neither did they write the curriculum. However, this is a wake up call for all involved. I would love to see an education system designed around Nigeria's problems like insecurity, unemployment, poverty, corruption, etc. These are issues that most Nigerians can relate and will be committed to learning/researching about, without resorting to AI.
Christianity EtcRe: As A Muslim, Why Don't You Support Sharia Law In Yorubaland? by sammiewrite(m): 3:19pm On Jan 31, 2025
For most people, it is about being law abiding. Being gay is against our law but not indecent or cross dressing. Fornication or adultery may be morally wrong but it is not a crime under Nigeria's law. What is a crime is having sex without consent or with minors. Similarly, even though driving under the influence in Nigeria is a criminal offence, getting tipsy is not.

It turns out, what you like or don't like remains your personal problem. Your religious belief of what is right or wrong has nothing on Nigeria's law or other Nigerians.

I just hope for once the leaders of the South West will not pander on this issue. There were no consequences in the North because the non-Muslims whose lives Sharia was interfering with are numerically disadvantaged. It is not going to be the same outcome in the South West and I hope everybody understands this fact.
PoliticsRe: Sowore To Force PRO: You shouldn't be seen anywhere near serious business by sammiewrite(m): 7:44am On Jan 30, 2025
Sowore isn't a serious person either but he is right on this one. And make no mistake, the likes of Muyiwa are carefully selected for those jobs. In fact, in Nigeria, if you are applying to government jobs and show intelligence at the interview, you won’t the job. The system like them dumb. The dumber, the better.
HealthRe: Aproko Doctor Raises Alarm Over Deteriorating Healthcare Centers In Nigeria(Pix) by sammiewrite(m): 12:03pm On Jan 28, 2025
"he highlighted the deplorable conditions of many health facilities, emphasizing the risks posed to women and newborns due to the substandard state of these centers" The quoted part of the article is where I called bullshit and quickly understand that this is more agenda/narrative driven rather than a genuine call for action. "Women and newborns" as if men don't use hospitals or they are immune to healthcare decay.
PoliticsRe: Ewi Of Ado-Ekiti Disbands Sharia Panel, summons Islamic leaders by sammiewrite(m): 9:59pm On Jan 25, 2025
Finally. This issue has dragged on for too long. It's refreshing to see the Ewi of Ekiti teaching the leaders (especially governors) of the South West how not to be a pandering idiot.
PoliticsRe: SS2 Students Brutally Attack Teacher, Leave Him In Coma In Kogi State by sammiewrite(m):
Wisdom is profitable to direct. Times have change and teachers should make peace with this fact. All those talks of instilling discipline is a trap. You want to instill discipline in students who are members of different cults or whom their parents themselves are cultists? You want to instill discipline in students who do drugs and have free access to guns or you want to instill discipline in female students who are regular customers of different hood hotels? Some of these male students are young as 12 and living alone. These boys do burglary as part-time job and their absentee parents don't know exactly the whereabout of their kids at any point in time, except of course when they're caught and Civil Defense has to inform them.

During my Service year, I promise myself I wasn't going to do anything to make their lives worse, but I also wouldn't do much to make it better either (that is up to them, their parents, and maybe Nigeria). I did my teaching job and allowed others do their own job, too.
CrimeRe: Alleged Yahoo Boy Refuses To Stop, Drives Police Officer On Car Bonnet (Video) by sammiewrite(m): 1:12pm On Jan 15, 2025
If there is any sensible one among these guys, and if it is possible, they should just try to settle this matter on this spot. If this gets to the station, if and when they're released, they will be going home blind, deaf, or with internal injuries.
CrimeRe: Timileyin Ajayi: I Beheaded My Girlfriend, Salome Adaidu Because She Cheated by sammiewrite(m): 12:51pm On Jan 15, 2025
When he was asked if he had any regret, of which he replied in the negative. The questions that should have followed should have been something like...
1. You mean you didn't have any regret at all killing someone you once profess love to?
2. Do you mean you if you got into another relationship today and the girl cheats you will kill her?
3. Is this your first romantic relationship? How did your last relationship(s) ended, with who, and where is she or are they currently at?

Also, when he said he wouldn't have been caught if he didn't wanted to, and even said getting rid of a dead body without being caught is a "simple thing." I expect him to have been bombarded with questions with the aim to know if he is trying to appear smart and tough or if he is speaking based off experience.

The thing is, I know the interviewer is all about selling news but I hope the police doesn't take this approach. Because there are just too many holes in his story, including the part where he narrated how he killed the lady without any form of resistance, I hope the police takes his word with a grain of salt and instead do thorough investigation to unravel the whole truth.
PoliticsRe: ISWAP: 100 Foreigners Arrested As Osun Beefs Up Security Over Terrorist Invasion by sammiewrite(m):
Two things that is most likely a possibility: if this had happened under the half salary man/former holiday minister, this discovery would never have been made or disclosed. Second, the so-called arrested ISWAP members are likely to have been arrested in the domain of baba half salary's appointed yahoo traditional leader.

I would say the South West is very lucky at this critical time to not have leaders who are stooges of the caliphate or sympathetic to their sinister agenda. This is why I'm particularly happy about the chess move governor Seyi Makinde made with the Alaafin of Oyo.

This is a lesson that the citizens should be very wary of the people they hand power to. They should do due diligence and check their antecedents before thumbprinting. Also, this is the time for the governors of South West to go ruthless on all internal saboters regardless of their status. What has worked for the Yorubas in terms of relative peace and development for several years is how they have always put their Yorubaness ahead of anything else. Anybody who is not comfortable with this arrangement and wants to put their religion ahead of their Yorubaness should feel free to join their caliphate brothers up north.
CrimeRe: Ritualist Caught With His Girlfriend's Head In Orozo, Abuja (Graphic Photos) by sammiewrite(m): 11:17am On Jan 13, 2025
Most of these young ladies ended up with these monsters because their parents couldn't provide them with the basics. They started relationships as early as 13, not because they wanted to, but because they needed it to survive. Similarly, while there are young men who ventured into ritual due to greed, many of them did having being tired of generational poverty.

My point is, parents can help a lot in containing this menace by being intentional about child bearing. That way, they will be able to support their kids with quality education, a good accomodation, nutritious meals, allowances/stipends etc. enough to keep them away from vices.
FamilyRe: Kenyan Woman Caught On CCTV Attacking Her Husband (Photos) by sammiewrite(m): 6:01pm On Jan 10, 2025
"Don't ever raise your hand against a woman no matter what" in the mud. "If a woman provokes you to the point of wanting to beat her just walk away" in the mud.

For many years we have tried to explain that men are in fact victims of domestic violence too, but since it was all about an agenda no one bothers to listen. The part where the woman locked the door is also a very familiar scene. I mean, a woman who grabs you by the collar, is hitting you hard repeatedly even below the belt or, as in the case of this woman who is wielding a knife and even denying you the door- what is the man supposed to do? Similarly, if a woman starts her trouble at 2 a.m., where is the son of man expected to "walk away" to at this time?

And coming to the sad part, if the woman in this vidio ever get arrested or charged, she will receive a lighter sentence comparatively. We have seen it happen again and again with women who sexually molest/physicall assault kids.

But I'm not surprised, everyone from corporate bodies to politicians to clergies always wants to be in the good books of women because why not? They have got the population, so they get the pass most of the time. Men on the other hand have lost their "numbers" power to senseless wars and dangerous adventures they engage in trying to protect and satisfy this same women. That is why I maintain that for men to get justice in this world, we need to maintain our population. Anything short of this, women will always be favored against men.
Foreign AffairsRe: Russian & Ukrainian Soldiers Brutal Knife Combat Goes Viral (Graphic) by sammiewrite(m): 9:36am On Jan 09, 2025
This is a sad one but even sadder that Ukrainians have been bombarded with propaganda to think that Putin and Russia is their enemy.

For all I know, Zelensky is their enemy. There's nothing U.S./NATO wants to offer Ukraine that Russia can't offer double, so I don't understand.
On top of that, Ukraine share a lot with Russia which means no matter what, maybe little, but Russia still genuinely cares about Ukraine and this video even establish this fact. U.S./NATO don't care one bit about Ukraine other than using them to achieve their aim and the earlier the people of Ukraine understand this, the better for them.

The first quality of a leader, which is absolute loyalty to your country and its people, is clearly absent in Zelensky. Zelensky is not loyal to Ukraine and his people; he is loyal to his personal interests and the interests of U.S/NATO. I can liken Zelensky to our own Bubu. Giving another opportunity, Bubu will choose Niger and his ethnicity over Nigeria and the other 250+ tribes. Bubu was a mistake in Nigeria's history, and so is Zelensky in Ukraine's history.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: China's Overqualified Youth Taking Jobs As Drivers, Labourers And Film Extras by sammiewrite(m): 9:52am On Jan 06, 2025
Another example of human greed because educational institutions have deviated from their original purpose into becoming purely business centres. Preliminary studies were introduced, and more than 70% of the courses on offer are not relevant to the present times (imagine someone having a PhD in religious studies in 21st century). The other 20 - 25% can be learned cheaply via YouTube or something in under one year or max 2. And it is not just higher institutions, pupils still get "double promotions" at elementary level, and gone are those days when students repeat classes due to poor performance.

I thought by now humans would have learned to spare the educational field of their greed and avarice for wealth but no, because left to me, how does it make sense offering programs like Political Science, Botany or even Theatre Arts when your country is grappling with insecurity, unemployment, and multidimensional poverty?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Wolves Vs Manchester United (2 - 0) On 26th December 2024 by sammiewrite(m): 11:10pm On Dec 26, 2024
Agreed at least 80% of the current squad needs to go. The question is, which clubs will come in for these guys? Where will the money for new signings come from? How many of Amorim's transfer requests will be sanctioned considering how much was spent to back ETH vis a vis the quality of players he got in?
CrimeRe: Wedding Guests Kidnapped On Kwara Highway, ₦100M Ransom Demanded by sammiewrite(m): 4:14pm On Dec 25, 2024
hkidola00:
shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked are you sure bout this
It is hard to believe but that is what happened. The man was unfortunate to keep records of financial transactions on his phone and the kidnappers overestimated his worth based on that. When his friend tried to negotiate the ransom, they got angry and that is where torture came in, so it is important to clear that this may not be a common occurrence with all abductees.
CrimeRe: Wedding Guests Kidnapped On Kwara Highway, ₦100M Ransom Demanded by sammiewrite(m): 10:51am On Dec 25, 2024
That road has been like that for a while now. I really feel sorry for the victims because this particular kidnapping gang are very very vicious. A neighbour who lost his life after an incident with those daredevils on this same road in 2022 had plier used to pull his toe nails, being just one of the tortures he received. He was kidnapped on Saturday while returning from a wedding ceremony, released on Wednesday after payment of ransom, and died Thursday evening.

Christianity EtcRe: Why We Displayed ‘jesus Christ Is Not God’ Banner At Lekki Mosque – Imam by sammiewrite(m): 3:11pm On Dec 23, 2024
Can't blame the Imam. He is only able to say this because of Lagos weak leadership. It took Gumi and FFK just one visit to the DSS headquarters to stop running their mouths. Lagos residents should count themselves extremely lucky with the weakness their governor has shown over the years.
CelebritiesRe: Agidigbo FM Owner, Oriyomi Hamzat Currently Hospitalised After Death Of 35 Kids by sammiewrite(m): 7:50am On Dec 20, 2024
As much as South West often want to boast of religious diversity, they still got plenty of lowkey radical knuckleheads. Mr. Hamzat and Naomi fell for this particular trap.

And this is a lesson to Mr. Hamzat and other well-meaning Nigerians. There's a reason why most streetwise gangs don't return to their hood when they finally make it. It is also the reason why the rich and wealthy only fraternize with their like. It is all about the way of thinking and what is priotized.
TravelRe: Japa Now: Leave If You Can [pics] by sammiewrite(m): 3:03pm On Dec 12, 2024
Nairaland fast becoming an agenda dumpster. Every single post on the frontpage is driving one agenda or the other.

OP has a word for the "APC bot" that were replying his comments, but none for his neighbours who enjoyed steady light but refused to pay for it (similar to all those farmers who got loans from Nigerian government but often refuses to pay back and on top of it prefer to sell their harvests to Niger and Chad), or even for himself who couldn't care less about his offline Nigerian neighbours (that he can see) since he has access to a bet shop and a powerbank, but cared enough to advise his online Nigerian neighbours (that he can't see) to Japa if they can.

Talk about politicising everything but the thing is, you all can continue to pretend that this is all for the love of the country or its citizens but you guys are as transparent as a glass. Next agenda, please.
SportsRe: Conte Admits Napoli Struggle Without Osimhen by sammiewrite(m): 8:32am On Dec 11, 2024
I don't understand why Napoli keep disrespecting one of their key players without any provocation. Also, I wouldn't understand why Osimhen continues to tolerate the disrepect, even to the point of signing a new contract when he had offers elsewhere. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in Napoli's color again.
PoliticsRe: Kehinde Ogunwumiju Sues Dele Farotimi For ₦500M by sammiewrite(m): 4:21pm On Dec 10, 2024
The video where Dele was rubbishing the police invitation (which his followers claimed he did not receive) and his "wet dreams" post made everything clear. He is in the class of Kemi Olunloyo, Hundeyin, Reno and the likes who became known (and possibly rich), not for their career or contribution to the society, but for their ability to launch sustained attacks on/outrightly defaming popular/influential people. Dele and his cotravelers are simply opportunists who are leveraging some people's misguided anger, hatred, bitterness, delusion, ignorance, stupidity, and insecurity.
So, people should give this matter a rest. The whole thing is a hustle for Dele. He knows exactly what he is doing. He was only unlucky like Aunty Kemi.
CrimeRe: Police Link Missing Girls Cases, Ritual Killings To Hookups by sammiewrite(m): 3:19pm On Dec 04, 2024
Hookup for some of them, for the others, it's this unruly attitude influenced by western feminism, where questioning about their whereabout or movement is interpreted as you trying to own or control them. Where most adult males will dare not go without informing the whole community, a modern woman will travel from Bayelsa to Lagos and even when she returns, there will be no apology or explanation. If you press too much, they will reply with "I'm an adult" or "my body, my choice."

My sister has the habit of keeping late nights and going places without informing anybody. I have voiced my concern about this, her mother has too, but last Saturday was the final straw. I have handsoff her matter and have communicated the same to her mother.
PoliticsRe: Donatus Mathew Who Won Reps Seat On Obidient Wave Abandons LP, Joins APC by sammiewrite(m): 10:25am On Dec 04, 2024
Instead of taking responsibility, see them throwing jibes at the reps member. Our biggest mistake as a country will be to hand over the leadership of this country to them mobs. We warned when they were shouting "top to bottom" but all we got were insults. A group of hypocrites, lacking in accountability and who are too prideful and arrogant to take advice or entertain divergent views can never be the alternative we're looking for.
Foreign AffairsRe: President Biden Pardons His Son, Hunter Biden by sammiewrite(m): 11:38am On Dec 02, 2024
Another evidence that democracy is a well packaged fraud and should only be adopted by countries who wants it. A fraud that constantly vilifies other systems like monarchy and military junta for "absolute/abuse of power," but has such a thing as "presidential pardon" and "immunity," which is simply another way of saying a mortal like the rest of us has unlimited freedom to the use and abuse of power.
And for you all that are saying you'll do exactly the same if you were Biden because of "family first," I hope you keep this consistency when it is a Nigerian politician.
