While election is relatively expensive in Nigeria. Despite the fact that it heats up our politics and exposes our diversity as nation between ethnic lines.

The positive here is that within this electoral circle usher in rapid commissioning of projects. It might be good for our development and growth of our nation - Nigeria but set a very bad precedent on how we select our leaders in public offices.

Leaders that are entrust to hold public office, should know that they are there to serve the public. They should also know that the resources they use to execute such projects are not theirs and as such their names shouldn't be portrayed as if, they owned it but rather the institutions they represent should be more pronounced on such.

If we say we practice democracy in its true form, it should reflect on governance and the people; vice-versa.

It's only in Africa we celebrate our rights/entitlement given to us by our representatives both at state and federal levels.

I'm of the opinion that the word 'Party' should be banned.
Let people run/campaign for their positions individually.
It will be easy to recall them as to teach them a lesson.

Imagine, if my senator in Party A, has been doing bad since 18yrs in Senate.
It will be difficult for our constituency to recall him because his party faithfuls will be more than us.

You totally understand what I meant. I have been quoted endlessly on this thread by a platoon of simple minded Nigerians who don't know their right from their left. Many don't understand how easy it was for Jonathan to stop Buhari if he was convinced that Buhari was dangerous for the country. Jonathan had all the security reports so obviously he knew a great deal of what Buhari stood/stands for even before the elections. He shouldn't have allowed him to hyjack power.

There were endless strings that Jonathan could have pulled to unravel Buharis electoral surge in 2015. Give you some examples: if I was Jonathan, I would have easily declared a state of emergency in most North Eastern states that had a serious upsurge of Boko Haram violent activities towards the 2015 elections and used that as an excuse to stop the APC janja-weed agenda, especially after Boko Haram nominated the same Buhari as their representative. There would have been some serious murmurings in the north, but it will die down later.

Secondly, Jonathan could easily have used the missing educational qualifications of Buhari to nail him! The constitution is clear on that. Jonathan could even insist on the use of The National identity card for elections. Most northerners didn't register until Buhari took over! Yet they were the ones who went for PVCs because it was more convenient for their nebulous electoral plans.
Simply do whatever you can to stop as man whose wayward ambitions was becoming the biggest danger to the countrys peace and prosperity and explain later. But he won't! He couldn't lift a finger. He just sat there like a sitting duck and handed our lives over to these weirdos..
