sydney01: Note: You should get the links to the downloadable materials almost immediately after sending the mail. A kind-hearted member of this house called webstradamus, I was told set up the mail and I got my own materials through this. When I said empty mail, it implies there shouldn't be anything in the body of the mail. Just type selfstudy360@gmail.com on the space for To: which is meant for the receiver address and leave the other sections blank including the body of the mail and then send it. You will receive the links to the materials and you can then go ahead and download them. |

De Tus: @Sewa, please use GTB MASTER CARD. GTBANK MasterCard only works for GRE registration. TOEFL requires a VISA card and I know just like she said, DIAMOND VISA card does not work either cos it does happen to me. @Sewa, follow dolapobello1 lead. |

fadinus: Hi house! This is Amefrica.. I'm banned and couldn't post tru my acct.. Anyways!, I was at the US consulate(Lagos) today and I was delayed. Axiomatically speaking, when there is a will, there is always a way. The transcript of your interview shows that you have sedulously prepared for it. It just only happen that 3rd of October was not the auspicious moment. Hope your account statement does not contain any mendacious details though? Check that and go back to the embassy and you will be granted your visa with immediate alacrity! Congrats in advance |

Graviton: a friend of mine just told me paper applications were better than online applications, how true is this, please?... How does it feel if I say typing with a typewriter is better than using a Mac machine? Do you reckon? Online application has several advantages over paper in that: 1.) You will spend a lot of money printing the forms, 2.) You will spend a lot of money sending via DHL or God help you and you make use of nipost (you will nearly have a heartattack) 3.) Most schools testify that electronic application enhance the decision process because you can easily upload all the required materials at once... There are myriad of reasons why you should use online submission except your school demand you do it offline though. Cheers |

valentino81: what of the age range btw 31-35 yrs going for Masters? Any complication? If both Toefl and GMAT has been taken and well passed? I don't think we need to flog it much. Master's and PhD degrees are advance degrees that one may embark on either immediately after 1st degree or after some years of working. Being 35 and going for master's to me shoudn't be an issue once you satisfy all the conditions required including taking the appropriate exams as you rightly posted. Dunno if there is a contrary view though. |

kunlebal: Well, I shared from a personal experience. From the date the last verification was made by WES from my school to the date my transcript was ready was not beyond a week. Also, 23rd of August which happen to be the date your school confirmed WES's verification request was a friday. Hence between 26th of August which happens to be the monday after 23rd of August and 3rd of September is roughly a week and 2days. Which I guess is still good enough. Though I got mine under a week. PS: by saying a week, I am talking about the transcript processing proper excluding the sending and the verification time involved. |
Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part4 by samnoah(m): 11:00pm On Sep 20, 2013 |
godG: Of course, you can send it via courier because school will usually send it via regular mail. WES only want to see that it is coming from the registrar of the school(envelope signed across with the school seal or stamp). So you can get it once it is ready from the school and then post via courier. Should in case school decides to post it, you can offer to pay for courier letting them know you need it to be deliver in a few days. If you leave them to it, my guess is that it will take weeks if not month. I posted mine via one of the courier companies back then. But note as I said earlier: ONCE IT IS RECEIVED, WES WILL STILL AUTHENTICATE OR VERIFY BY CONTACTING YOUR SCHOOL... You can monitor all these on your account on the website of WES. Hope this helps |
Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part4 by samnoah(m): 7:43pm On Sep 20, 2013 |
kofsy: Yeah, for a quick action, you will have to literarily sit on them until the transcript is sent to WES. It can be helpful if you have someone you know or someone you can talk to in the registrar's office who will ensure that it is done quickly. Also, after receiving the trancript, WES will authenticate it by contacting your school. The reply from your school to this has to be on time as well. It is only when this has been done that WES will now go ahead to evaluate your transcript and this shouldn't take more than a day or two(I mean the evaluation proper after the necessary verification). You can monitor all these on their website via your account with them. |
Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part4 by samnoah(m): 6:59pm On Sep 20, 2013 |
kofsy: The whole delay about transcript evaluation is never from WES. It is usually from the Nigerian schools that take too long to send the transcript to WES in the first place and then also take so long a time to confirm the authentication. It is never an issue with WES believe me cos I've been there! If schools in Nigeria can process all the request as fast, then WES is no delay! It can even be done within a WEEK! And to cap it, you are paying them you know and American Companies are deligent I can assert that. Peace! |

@Justwise, I'm aware Amefrica has been banned earlier though I'm not quite sure of his offense then and probably now. Maybe I have not been keen on knowing though. However, I also will like to join those who have pleaded on his behalf to say that you should pardon him. This is especially in line with the fact that he will be appearing for his visa interview soonest. It will not be good for him to make any mistake at this critical stage. Please unban him so that he can post any concerns or questions on this forum. |

virginofafrica: please gently men and ladies. i checked on information on the school i want to attend in the state(san houston university)and they required for transit from the school i attended before. and i have just my NECO statement of result because i finished last year and i don't even have the reall result because it's not out. please can someone explain that school transit to me. i will be there this december though my DV programme. Sir, I guess you are referring to TRANSCRIPT and not TRANSIT. If that's the case, I'm aware that an institution like WAEC usually issue transcripts often for students applying to foreign universities for their first degree just like you. I guess the same should be true with NECO as well. Since you already have the statement of result, it implies that the result is available and you can just go to the designated NECO office near you to make a request for it. Your write-up shows you are part of the lucky winners of the DV program. You have started well by considering furthering your education with this oppportunity rather than having other unwholesome thoughts. Wish you all the best! |
