This is written in the hope that Obama will be shamed by it and decide to come. APC will never stop childish propaganda. This is a prove that writing fake news stories to push an agenda is in the party's DNA. America will not rush its president down here for anything unless it's an emergency. So this propaganda is not only foolish but belated, especially if Obama already has a plan to be in Africa July. |
It was an accident, the car owner's insurer will bear the brunt. |
pDude:Priceless! Just priceless! These narcissists parading themselves as men of God have such a power to bless and curse yet Nigeria remains this way? Sometimes I just wish I had never been born an African. How could people be so gullible? Americans made airplanes without a single prayer and cell phones without the involvement of any man of God and here we have millions upon millions of people all worshipping an idiot who's just make money away. Politicians who visit this wacko know he doesn't have any power from God but he has a large following which means number which is what matters in politics. This is a religion that nobody in Africa knew existed 200-300 years ago. Poverty and diseases continue to ravage our country and these pastors are praying and making monies away. Someday, people will descend on these people and take back their generational theft, but most of them would have rotten to maggots by then. Hence of no consequences to them. Alas! |
adconline:I never knew you noticed, too. The euphoria about her visit to Nigeria pushed me to Google her up again to be sure it's the same Amber Levonchuck. We're in for a long thing in this country. |
Metuh should have just kept his silence until the tapes are actually aired. Our politicians don't strategise, they just throw money and arrogance at everything in the hope that these will nudge the people to give or retain power to them. Pathetic! |
I'm surprised none of the commenters knows this is a cock and bull mumbo jumbo. The joke is more boring than a box of rocks. What a pity. |
Bloomberg news is reporting that the Ebola drug which has been given already to two Americans and a Spanish priest and which has helped stabilise them, has been sent to a West African country that requested it. That country is believed to be Nigeria. Now, according to the manufacturer of the drug, Mapp Biopharmaceutical Inc., the supply of the drug called ZMapp is now exhausted. Mapp Biopharmaceutical Inc. disclosed that it was told by U.S. health officials that the West African countries which were demanding for the drug were Nigeria and Liberia. According to the company, all requests forwarded to it as regards supply of the drugs has been complied with, and at no cost so long as such a request was backed by legal and regulatory authorities. It said it provided the drug at no cost. The problem is that the drug is just an experimental one that has not even been properly tested on animals or humans, leading many to question the ethics of the move and how patients could be monitored in the long term, in the event that they are negatively affected by the drug. “It is our understanding that all patients offered treatment, treated, or expected to be treated were or are highly capable of providing informed consent for the use of an experimental drug not yet evaluated for safety in animals or people,” the company said in a statement. The additional patients allocated the drug include medical doctors in two West African countries as well as the Americans and the Spanish priest. The company said that it is working to quickly increase production of the drug. “Additional resources are being brought to bear on scaling up,” the company said. “The emergency use of an experimental medicine is a highly unusual situation.” Source: http://www.thescoopng.com/experimental-ebola-drug-helped-stabilise-us-doctor-sent-nigeria/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=experimental-ebola-drug-helped-stabilise-us-doctor-sent-nigeria |
Which is worse? That the OP comes out to claim "she" is responsible for the rumour or that Nigerians actually swallow her unverifiable claim? She should send us a screenshot of her sending the BC at the stated time. Pathetic. |
Can we have a panoramic view of Lagos at night? That doesn't mean I agree with the OP that Lagos is a strategic or major city in the world, at least not when you haven't listed Hong Kong and Singapore. |
Another salvo aimed at the citizenry with outright deceit at its core. In as much as it might be possible for some of the individuals at the vanguard of these lingering protests to have a motive (monetary, political, etc) of their own, I don't think it behooves our serving "secrete service" officials to publicly blow a head gasket over it. The worst they can do should be to gather the intelligence (assuming they're capable of doing that) and surreptitiously forward it to political appointee(s) of the president who will mouth it afterwards. The fact that some of the protesting groups have a bank account is not an esoteric knowledge, it has been circulating on Nigerian blogosphere for as far back as the protests began, thus Marilyn doesn't need to come out in her typical mendacious style to tell us like it's a result of a meticulous investigation by her infamous organisation. What can one even compare our DSS (SSS) with in relation to the United States security agencies and bureaus? Can they be compared with the FBI? Hardly. Are they like the CIA? Definitely not. Can they match up to the U.S. Secret Service? For where? ATF? No way. So the DSS, in my own opinion, is just like an extension of the Nigeria Police Force, something like the CID of the good ol' days. Its name would have been more accurate and unambiguous had it been Department of Government Security because it protects government officials and their interests far more than it does the great unwashed. |
Neither do you, as a Christian, need any intermediary (a pastor) to pray or get closer to God. She should stop trying to be too clever by half. |
Exactly what transpired between the lawyer and the authorities? On what basis was he arrested and how much fine did he pay before filling this lawsuit? Can the lawyer actually sue a law enforcement official (having already secured judgement against his employer, LASTMA) based on altercation he had with him while on duty? This is a subnormal news report. |
This story could very well have been fabricated by one of the lazy asses parading themselves as reporters. No time line of initial purchase and resale of the vehicle. No single name was mentioned and we have no idea in what state the subject of the article is from. The lead says the man is in his 50s while body of article says man is a middle aged man. And this is what passes for good reportage at The Nation's newsroom? You can't make this stuff up. |
mobuch: EDUCATED IMBECCILEThis coming from the same person who created this thread: www.nairaland.com/1403003/need-advise-how-sleep-lady. Indeed, Nigeria's problems are more about the average Joes than they are about its insatiable corruptocrats. |
Confusionist:So I was campaigning for PDP by describing PDP as egregious and made the case for Nigerians to do away with it and APC? Are you intellectually impaired or just living up to your screename? Either way, you're beyond help. |
Namiad: all u said is total GARBAGE...u were just speaking englishTypical Fashola lackey: When challenged, throw ad hominem attacks. |
‘‘The state government said the decision was taken in its determination to ensure adequate monitoring of commuter bus operators as reagrds (sic) compliance with traffic rules and regulations.’’ So Lagos State needs to eradicate the remaining few dozens of 'Molue' that has been facing sustained attrition by Fashola's administration or the ‘‘adequate monitoring’’ of hundreds of thousands of vehicles plying Lagos roads daily will be in jeopardy? You can't make this stuff up. Granted, ‘‘Molue’’ has become too haggard for this age and its carbon footprint being its Archiles heel, it, however, hasn't outlived its usefulness; the great unwashed still use the ugly Benz to commute themselves due to its affordability and uproariousity. Why ban it from plying Iyana-Ipaja (the same road that heavy duty trucks ply) if it can ply Agege? And why did the reporter find it superfluous to get reactions from 'Molue' unionists? I've never entered a 'Molue' before but I've been wondering how no one is upgrading this low budget means of transportation in an increasingly unaffordable Lagos. The convoluted atmosphere that has become increasingly emblematic of Fashola's administration is the APC echo chamber cocooning. Just when you think life can't get worse for Lagos proles, Fashola stifles it further with yet another Soviet-esque ukase. As egregious as the PDP has been for us, Fashola's Lagos is a forlorn harbinger of what Nigerians will go through should APC get the mandate to man Aso-Rock. Alas, there's no alternative to PDP and APC. Nigerians are in for a bumpy ride. Pathetic, really. |
As two other brilliant posters have noted above, it's only a common sense that Toyota will, consequently, have the highest number of vehicles involved in traffic haphazard. What the 'road safety' official is saying is analogous to saying men get involved in accidents than women. Pathetic. |
The link is bad and the home page is not loading. Can someone please copy/paste the entire article here? I'd like to read it. |
Amazing how Nigerian pastors find all justification in the Bible to milk their gullible members dry but found no reason to help the needy. |
‘‘The American democracy could be said to be on autopilot yet, they have not experimented with a part-time legislature.’’ Far from it. United States Congress is even more divisive and acrimonious than ours. They're also very corrupt but with a different approach (See: Louisiana Purchase, Cornhusker Kickback and Insider Trading for instance) I don't think part time legislative proceeding is what we need. Au contraire, the system we need is a parliamentary cum provincial system of government modelled in tandem with Australia and Canada. |
berem: http://premiumtimesng.com/news/143039-over-n1mn-bets-placed-on-ram-fights-in-lagos.htmlWhy did the man plead anonymity especially when he claims the association is now legal and properly regulated unlike the medieval times? What kind of country are we in? This is why it's almost Quixotic for journalists to offer investigative bombshells because no official will tell you anything useful. Why does he need to plead anonymity in the course of promoting his association? And for those who scream animal cruelty, if you're not a vegetarian, then take your PETA/Western nonsense and shove it. |
Mr Aboki: [b]Lets get this matter straight..I've been going back and forth on Nairaland since 2007, this is the first time I'll commend a commenter. Mr. Aboki, you're smart. |
The research is inconsequential because it fails to accurately link my behaviour with the way I pen my works. For those who say they were captured, good luck. |
Tolexander: courtesyThe commissioner is very bored and had to arrange few reporters from Iwe-Iroyin media parlour to give him an attention-grabbing publicity. He must have increased the egunje to ₦10,000 per hungry reporter for this, obviously mendacious, story to be published. |
datChelseaBoy: What is this shit on the frontpage?!! And OP please remove those pictures, publishing someone's private picture on the internet without his or her consent is a punishable offenseCan you quote the criminal code, please? |
Buberwa: Dude, where did you learn that creepy writing style? You haven't seen anything, try being on BlackBerry for a week. |
zeelo2014: u're in traffic waiting for the light to turn green, then the second its green, everyone starts blaring their horn like crazy,y not fly? Government should charge motorists for blowing of horn sef.Or sometimes when you're in heavy traffic and the driver behind you could see clearly that your front is clogged up but still continue to blare his horns. These things make me just want to leave my car on the road, lock it and walk away. Those behaviours border on insanity. |
Nightshift: Nigerian's old mentality of ' my Mercedes is bigger than yours' has continued to evolve since the 70s oil boom years.Your point being? |
For "Pastor" Adeboye, Christmas arrives early. Imagine if all the money that has been given to that man was deposited in a trust fund, and judiciously used, for the betterment of Nigerians, the country will be shinning like, Houston, at least. But I'm happy someone is duping them sha, because, albeit they sell themselves as Christians, they will never help their families. |
