How do you construct a 1.4km bridge for $2 billion?
Which is about the size of Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge, and that's not even the longest on the continent. The longest cable-stayed bridge on the continent that I am aware of (there could be longer ones) is the Suez Canal Bridge in Egypt, which spans about 4km in length and a height of approx. 150 metres.

If this bridge is going to be 1.4km in total length, that would indeed make the budget of $1.1 - $2 billion to be completely outrageous. The Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge cost only about $200 million. Kenyans should run from this unreasonable debt burden! Better still, get the money and build the bridge yourselves! The Japanese obviously want to leech and defraud!

A $2 billion cable-stayed bridge should be around the size of the Sutong Bridge (8 km in total length / 300 m in height) in China.
