vaxx2: Samorobo hopefully you can see what I am telling you about world ranking ..... This is another ranking report from the USA. it has proven what I have been telling you since. Ghana education system is incomparable in west africa .......
Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has been adjudged the best University in Ghana and West Africa.
""The Ashanti Region-based university also came 14th on the African continent and 706th out of selected 1,500 best universities worldwide.
It displaced two of West Africa’s prestigious tertiary institutions, the University of Ibadan (UI) in Nigeria and fellow compatriots, the University of Ghana (UG), which ranked 17 and 24 in the sub-region, the report indicated.
This is according to Washington-based US News & World Report 2019. The 86-year-old organisation is known for ranking and evaluating universities based on their research performance and its ratings by members of the academic community around the world and in its region.
The U.S. News & World Report is a multi-platform publisher of news and information, which includes; annual print and e-book versions of its authoritative rankings of Best Colleges, Best Graduate Schools and Best Hospitals in the World.
The rankings according to the U.S. News and World Report are produced to provide insight into how universities compare globally so that prospective students could make the best choices.
It, therefore, focuses specifically on the institution’s academic research and overall reputation. The overall best global universities rankings encompass the top 1,500 institutions spread across 81 countries globally.
The first step in producing these rankings, which are powered by Clarivate Analytics Incites, involved creating a pool of 1,599 Universities that is used to rank the top 1,500 schools.
The second step is to calculate the rankings using the 13 indicators and weights that U.S. News chose to measure global research performance.
Each of the 1,500 top-ranked university's profile pages on usnews.com lists the overall global score as well as numerical ranks for the 13 indicators, allowing students, academics and university leaders to compare each university's standing in each indicator.
These indicators include; global research reputation, regional research reputation, publications, books authored, conference papers, normalised citation impact, total citations, number of publications that are among the 10% most cited, percentage of total publications that are among the 10% most cited, international collaboration - relative to country, international collaboration, number of highly cited papers that are among the top 1% most cited in their respective field, percentage of total publications that are among the top 1% most highly cited papers, and general reputation.
With a global score of 42.4, KNUST had a global reputation for research of 1,044, regional research reputation of 21. It also obtained 1,572 publications, 1,189 books, 1,444 conferences, 33 normalisation citation impact and a total citation of 1,0409.
In addition, KNUST attained 949 percentage of total publications that are among the 10 per cent most cited, 381 International collaborations - relative to country, and 15 International collaborations. This latest ranking projects KNUST as the best University for teaching, learning and research in Ghana and West Africa as whole"".
source .....US news and world report..... Lol this ranking is not based on knowledge transfer and quality education it focuses mainly on publications , books and global reputation (which reputation does just have globally? It is not more reputable than Legon)......infact there is no way just is better than legon, talkless of UI....Read through it properly you will see that the first step in producing the ranking is based on some random web search "Analytics incites"... The higher times (THE) is the most recognised globally and should not be compared with a Washington based US news... UI has no rival in WA mate |

Kazikazi never argued that Ghana is more economically developed than TZ but he is simply saying that Ghana economic prowress doesn't match her urbanisation....but I think vaxx misunderstanding him. As the middle class grows their taste, quality, and sophistication improves in urban areas... |

Problemkid1: But this is an injustice you know? What about the south east and South South. What are the budget for those two region. They have done nothing to those two region to be honest with you. Hmmmm what do I say now...okay here is my own opinion...Not until few months ago when I visited Enugu I used to think that the entire south -east region is very backward and no different from a deep village, but I was proved wrong...I put it to you that Enugu is by far better than Lagos mainland in terms of good road and housing unit...Lagos traffic this days is no joke because there are so many roads construction within the same route /proximity and often times if affects the island... I would prefer the govt stay focus on a road , finish it quickly then move on to the next rather than closing up everywhere and giving commuters a tiny road to share to and fro thereby burning time on the roads.... Enugu for instance will be completing her international airport next year and I tell you that is no joke..that alone is capable of pulling massive investment to the state...Imo is not left out AS I recently heard that he was given $50million from world bank which he would be investing in roads as soon as the raining season is over...... Onistha has a 10 lanes, not so many states has that luxury....What of second Niger bridge..so bro I don't think any part is left being.... Did you know that the lagos-calabar rail will city through the south -eastern zone? |

Understand both party in a rational way before speaking...They both have point, don't explore one side only. |

tylann: light rail is to be constructed by french company that is one of the project intiated by the french president when he visited kenya Lol you keep disgracing yourself.. so it is not more metro, it is now light rail... Look not even rvp(your best liar) can look me in the eyes and tell me nairobi is building a light rail..you simply can't afford it......The French President visit which if I remember correctly was posted in the month of April by a couple of your brothers..You nairoslum intend extending and expanding your "common commuter rail" not building a light rail...funny enough it is still a carrot dream In sub-saharan Africa they are only 3 countries with a light rail(Nigeria, South Africa, Ethiopia.Ethopia borrowed alot for this) and Kenya is not one of them...In the entire continent of Africa there is only one monorail and that is the ones in Nigeria.. Northern Africans countries had plans to build a monorail but because of the cost I think they settled for a tram..(according to Algerian1)... You are a village timid Nakuru boy..... |

rvp2018: Here is your 2018 federal budget for 20 roads - mere 40M dollars. I think you should ask the UN, IMF and WB to put you in the donor list for being too poor - otherwise the way I see - you'll continue to export all kind of evils to all countries. There should be a conference on NIGERIA soon. Hahaha you bark alot..Where in your post was $40million mentioned? Did you check the km of those roads? Apart from apapa phase 2 road project and the Abuja-kaduna road the rest are slum upgrade road and mere rehabilitation...You must know that at that time we were still in serious recession so there was scarcity of cash to fund project... Focus on the present and not the past...Btw I still await your link...I want to disgrace you.. |

Now China is using the same system to rape America dry and they are busy crying. They have no idea what is ahead of them You are right.. Americans(most especially whites) can't believe that the same Chinese that were used for cheap labour in the 80's/90's .... rvp2018: Exhibit 1 of Nigeria lethargy - Road just 120kms long has been re-construction since 2013.
Reconstruction of Ibandan-Lagos Expressway. The reconstruction of the expressway was flagged off on July 2013 by Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, the immediate past President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to help reduce the travel time of hundreds of thousands of commuters and international air passengers. The contract was awarded to Julius Berger Nigeria and Reynolds Construction Company Limited at a sum of 167 billion Naira, equivalent to $838,986,290.[7] Two sections of the expressway will be reconstructed and this includes Section I (Lagos to Sagamu Interchange) and section II (Sagamu Interchange to Ibadan) Is this 30 years?....... |

rvp2018: Road Infrastructure...
1) Nigeria road infrastructure. I checked their FERMA - Federal Road Agency - budget and I nearly 'cried'.
Of Nigeria’s 195,000 kilometres of roads, says the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission, 135,000 km are un-tarred; 32,000 km of the total are federal roads; 31,000km are owned by the state governments and the rest by the local governments. The World Bank says only about 30,000 km of all roads in Nigeria are actually paved.
2) South Africa South Africa, our continental rival, has 750,014 km of roads, the 10th largest globally, with 158,124 km paved.
3) Kenya
She has about 20,000 kms of road paved.Road transport is the predominant mode of transport and carries about 93% of all cargo and passenger traffic in the country. Kenya's road network has been established to be 160,886 km long. About 61,936 km of these roads are classified while the remaining 98,950 km are not classified.
Note: Only 1/3 of kenya is densely populated - with 2/3 semi-arid wasteland or forests or animal reserves. My dear save this for some illiterate..go provide the link, you can't play smart with Sammy....I know what you just did so provide me the link let me disgrace you a little.....
