I'm guessing the partition table is gpt, not mbr. If you're sure secure boot is not enabled in the bios settings you can install gdisk, apparently it's a tool that can convert gpt partitions to mbr. You can install it from your Linux bootable disk

I'm installing from a USB flash drive. Can I locate the gdisk on it?

What is wrong guys, I can't install Ubuntu along with Windows 8.1 on my HP 650.

I have disabled fast boot, yet still getting the pix below.

I'm having the same issues as you are. I want to dual boot my HP650 with Windows 8.1 already installed on one partition.

When I tried installing Linux Mint the installation process couldn't recognize the other disk space.
(See attached photos)

I've also tried using GParted, yet same thing.

Has anybody successfully dual booted HP650 please give me tips on how to go about this.

hi all, just came across this thread. I just got admission to study medicine through direct entry, but the problem is that am currently serving. I don't know if I should forfeit the service and enter school or to defer my admission and finish youth service. or to do the both at a time by being a ghost Corper and being in school. your advice plssss. its really urgent.

I'd like to know if DE applicants to UNIZIK have to take POST-DE exams and what the subject combinations are.

Did anyone of the participants in this thread actually succeed in getting admitted to UNN via DE?
At least bring this thread to a logical conclusion by letting others know about the DE admission process and what to expect.

Has JAMB started the process of change of institution? How do I go about changing my choice of university.

Who knows the time for the the exams/interview. This is especially useful for those of us staying in states other than the test venue.

Nobody can tell you any direct nature of the questions. Just do some revisions. The questions are set by jamb in nature of real jamb. they are 40 obj and you tick with pencil that's all. (for UG)

Thanks for the input. I'm actually going for PG and I think our exam will be different from that of Undergraduate applicants.

I also applied to the department of Zoology, Cell Biology and Genetics unit but I'm yet to get the recommendation mail. I'm becoming worried with each passing day.

Remember to also write utme. It increases ur chances.
Do ur IJMB program in the institution u want to study. It will be an advantage.
Score at least 13pnts. You will stand a better chance.
And don't forget to pray. Prayer will go a long way.

Well, going by the information I got from www.nairaland.com/1915103/ijmb-scam I don't think it'll be worth my time and resources going through IJMB.

I've been hearing about IJMB A-Levels program and I've gone through their website to know more ijmb .

I'd like to know if there are members of this forum that got admitted to medical school via IJMB and what university you applied to, and also is there a cut off point required for medical school.

I'm considering enrolling for the IJMB program. What advice would you give me?

ok, these are the steps to take in direct entry application.

JAMB sells the DE application form, usually after UTME exams. You buy the form from JAMB, register it with JAMB and then submit submit the printout and required academic certificates and other credentials to the nearest JAMB office. In the course of filling the form, you'll be asked for your choice of institutions and course of study.

The next stage begins when the university you chose opens the students portal and requires that you register you details with them, usually after the payment of a nominal fee. And like Dearpiriye said, ensure you go to your previous institution and request that your transcript is sent to UI.

This is assuming you get to choose UI as your 1st choice. Different institutions have different requirements for DE. Some like UI don't take screening test and only access you based on your results and transcript. Some other universities like UNN take screening tests for their DE applicants.

Bit note that DE application has ended for the year. You'll have to wait for the 2016 application.

I'd like to know the steps it took for you to prepare for the A-level exams and your final score. This will enable me make proper decisions for next session.

I feel ( don't know if it's true) that UI gives preference to A-level result over degree certificate ( especially state university) when considering admission into a competitive program like medicine and surgery.

Do yo have any idea of the departments that conduct tests? I'm applying to the department of Zoology. Also, How do I get to know of the acknowledgement of the receipt of my transcript, I stay far from Ibadan.

They say speed and accuracy matters.

I've been trying to answer the sample questions in under an hour, but thus far that has been an elusive target.

150 questions in 60 minutes approximates to about 24 seconds per question! For those starting off the exams tomorrow, I wish you saf journey and success.

I tried to print out the Sample Questions on Test of English, for easier access and practice but noticed that the file is locked with a password. I'd really love to have the print as I prefer it to reading the .pdf file on my laptop.

We're in the same boat; I also chose UI as my venue but yet to receive the mail for the exam date and time.

First, click the drop-down horizontal bar on the document upload page, it'll display a list of documents that you are required to upload. Select one from the list before you try to upload that particular document, if not, you'll keep getting the "Access Denied" error message.
