What is more important than the number of languages that you can wield is the number of applications that you have built with such tools. Far be it from me to advise anyone not to learn another language for I love learning languages too; however, proficiency in a particular language is the most alluring trait of any programmer. Of course, it is not necessarily the case that the fewer languages you know the better you will be at them since you have more time to practice them. Instead of going to Java, find books and tutorials on Advanced Python.
Please could you suggest projects for a beginner programmer? |

I'd go 4 Farouk Lawan... but on a second thought, if I may ask, where is Ote$$$Dollar? |
The problem is that so many people are afraid to take even a step while others want to know everything to the point of being spoon fed. I believe the information on this thread, especially by the OP El Matteo, is enough for anybody willing to import. As for me, I just signed up my UBA AfriCard. I'll have to learn by doing it. |

My candid advice to all corps members is this; always have an open mind no matter where you were posted to. You may not find the first week in camp funny, but I bet you by the end of the second week, you'd wish camp never ends. As for life after camp, there's nothing to be afraid of. JG has been peaceful and like someone rightly pointed out, get prepared for the cold season because It also gets cold, even in the desert. See you in Fanisau camp |
Please house, can someone give me the address of a TOEFL test centre in Kano.... Thanks |
Please I need your advice. I've been considering applying to a Norwegian university for my MSc. until I came across this thread. Since both Norway and Finland are Scandinavian countries with high standard of living, I need your direction with regards job prospects, social life and others. Thanks |
Super1759: Its no more a breaking news or a hot news for us.Please talk with reason. Don't you know there're indigenous Christians in Northern Nigeria? You want them to flee their home town? Lets join hands to support these suppressed, endangered Christians. |

Onegai: There's decent info online and on youtube, but first, what type of learner are you? I'm very visual so I struggled to teach myself and wasn't disciplined, which is why I enrolled in a school. So figure that out first. Then, next look for a grade 1 keyboard book, because you need to master finger-ing and scales. Also, volunteer yourself to a church, so you get all the practice time in the world and learn. You need practice, all the theory in the world won't help strengthen your fingers and train your ear. Try this page:Am also a visual learner. Tnks 4 the advice tho. Any NLer in Jos? your help will be appreciated. |
Onegai: Play the piano, I taught myself, then my love for Classical and Opera made me go pay for lessons. Just bought a violin today, took it to MFM HQ for tuning, can't wait. Eye-balling a Cello.Self taught? I've always wanted 2 learn d piano. Actually got started but got stuck. How do I go about it. Are there materials you can recommend? |
I hate to say this but this is common among ladies. Immediately they get to their final year, the sort of get desperate and the only thing they think of is marriage. They don't even want to build themselves up or get their career on the move. Note this applies to most not all
TrueTalk.... t'was like a competition amongst my final year lady-coursemates. To the extent some started wearing engagement ring when NOBODY engaged them. |
