Moving to Lagos few months ago with just 2000 in my purse and determined to make it. started job hunting immediately so I could settle and leave the place I was squatting. After few weeks i was asked to leave. Got another place to squat and got an 11 months contract job with an NGO and a pay of 50,000 monthly. How relieved I was. After scratching all I had and also borrowing to paying rent, I was duped by the land lord.
I have applied for several jobs ranging from PA, to Customer care, even to front desk assistant, (far from the medical course i studied) when I m lucky to be contacted for interview, the pay is never higher than 30,000. How will a graduate who was in school for 6years and has no helper be on such a monthly salary.
I have tried ponzi and online investments, and lost to them too, I can't even start a business because I pay back debts from my salary every month.
I have fought the urge of surviving the way most Lagos gals survive. I have vowed not to sell my self for money or even attempt to take my life.
I will fight the good fight, I will trust in God, I will wipe my tears and urge on.
I won't think of all I lost in few months, I won't think of the cruelty of men, I won't think of the help people don't render, I won't think of how many more strangers I need to plead with for shelter, I won't think of how I am all alone. I will believe, I will be strong and I will conquer!!!
This isn't just a cry for help, it is motivation for those in a similar situation. Don't back out, don't give in. I CAN, YOU CAN!!!

Graduate in chemistry with Zero motivation now cause where I never apply? Even private sector you have to know someone.. It feels like nature planned this against one.. My advice to the upcoming parents or parents to be... Hmm see life is not what our parents told us... Go to school you become this and that.. It was a total lie to protect us... Who among them is even alive right now to see your struggle and pain? The ones seeing you right now are even chasing you out of the house to get a living. I think the best thing to do when you have your kids is to make them or train them to have a hand work... What they can be doing even if you are not around them cause tomorrow is not promised not certain... It just all on hopes! School is essential but don't make them depend on it solely.. If you discover any talents or anything in your kid right now.. Please do encourage them to grow with it don't say you don't like it.. It's their life not yours.... This is my own pain! Life is a two phase.. wherever phase you find yourself.... Grow with it.. But I really encourage parents to be or parents right now not to discourage their kids from what they are doing or can do.. .if its singing allow them...tuface no go school but e rich pass.... It is well with us all....
