helo wndrful people of nairaland,God bless u guys for the wonderful work you are doing in this forum.i got my study visa to do a post graduate programme at the university of wits,but unfortunately my sponsor had a financial chalange,and i could not travel to register for my studies.my visa is suppose to expire on d 31st of december 2015,pls i want to find out whethr i can still use ds my study visa to travel to south africa within the year,mayb to just visit wits,spend sometime and come back to nigeria.thanks u in advance wondrful people for ur response God bless u.

@typop what the guy post is right due what happens to my colleague at work. He Apply for SA visa twice to visit his sister in SA, he got refused. And he later seek advice from a guy who let him knws that there is fasttrack that you pay amount of 60k. As he apply in January this true fasttrack he got his visa in the next 5days.
Same apply to my boss last year. He usually travels to Uk,US frequently and his family was denied SA visa.

Yes, they have a record of your visa and information on their system. However, that won't stop them from giving you a visa if you use a trusted agent who has links to the embassy people. SA embassy hardly issue visitors visa, unless you go through an agent who has link with them.

but will the immigration accept 'pay on arrival stuff'? cox someone told me that hotel must be booked and paid for before they will grant your pass into s.a. Secondly, if one is spending two weeks and just pay for a night because he has where to stay. wont they think something is fishing and deport one?

hi all. Please I'm going to sa for 2 weeks . I made a reservation with an hotel for 1 week although they didn't charge me cos I offered to pay on arrival but I gave them my credit card details and they are liable to charge full payment incase of any cancellation. I have printed the statement and cancelled the reservation cos I'm staying with family amyway... my question is will immigration call to confirm ? my friends from London did the same thing although immigration didn't call to confirm but you know when it comes to nigerians immigration officers everywhere normally scrutinise us... so please if you have travelled to sa recently from Nigeria .... kindly Help me confirm if immigration officers in sa called your hotel to confirm the booking. ........ if that's the case I won't have to cancel a fresh booking but my card would be charged if there is a no show. .... the hotel is almost 110k for 1 week as I was told to book at least one week cos of immigration although I'm trying for a hotel that will charge 50% if immigration actually confirms but let me know if they usually call. .. I applied for an 8 day visa to attend a conference in capetown at the lagos office,and after a 3 week processibg timea I was refused a visa because 'the conference invitation letter was not signed'..i have gotten across to the conference organisers who have resent a signed letter.
Can I resend my documents immediately(next day) for reapplication?..can I also go to the vfs centre in Abuja which I hear is apparently faster with their visa processing and will it affect my visa processing.
Any timely response will be appreciated.

Well I was sitting in my desk when she walked in, she came to me that she wants to have an account with my bank, and I willingly did the neccessary things. I plan to call tomorrow but by then my booking period would have lapsed. Has anyone ever experienced this? What did it mean?

A friend of mine wants to invite me to SA for a 2 weeks visit. please i'd like to know the list of documents that he needs to send to me for the visa application. i'd also like to know if his bank statement would be needed, if the documents can be sent via email and if certification would be necessary on the documents before sending.
please i need your contributions, i'm supposed to begin the application on monday.

Hello All, please does anyone have an idea, if it is possible for someone to forward is school result I.e O'level or A'level result to SAQA in south Africa for result evaluation before Applying to schools over there or it is after the person had applied to the school that he/she can then send the result to SAQA for evaluation?

Hello all, please for a married person that wants to apply for a Critical Skills Visa, is it compulsory that the accompanying spouse (d wife in this instance) submits her application for spousal/dependant visa at the same time?

If no, is it advisable she does so or does filing for it after the husband might have received his work permit (and/or emigrated to SA) diminish her chances of being granted the visa? Thanks in advance for your kind responses

I was offered admission to wits university on 28th Jan. I manged to finally submit my study visa application yesterday 12th feb. Lectures are starting on 16th febuary. The embassy gave me 6th march to come back. Please is there any hope that I can get the visa earlier than the embassy date? Because am on the verge of losing the admission of I arrive too late.

It's no longer R4188.. that's wat I sent and was given 11mnths, they'll send u back at d embassy. I had to pay additional 1mnth, total R4223.

Many thanks Kentrasso and bisi16. I have started making the move already. I did an assessment of the health coverage for 1 year on ingwehealth website and got R4, 290 which is equivalent to almost 86,000 Naira, pls is there any other health firm where I can get a much more affordable option? Also, as a scholarship holder, is the repatriation fee compulsory? Lastly, can I use a University health clinic for my Xray and other medical tests, for example the University of Ibadan health centre?
