Jobs/VacanciesMy Humble Plea To Hiring Managers And Executives by samuel3818(op): 6:58pm On Aug 24, 2016
I am one of the many job seeking graduates in the country. I have attended interviews and written several tests. The attitude of Hiring Managers to job seekers can be frustrating. I just had a very terrible experience today.
I was in my hometown in Osun state when all of a sudden, i got a call from a company i had a telephone interview with after series of tests to come for a face to face interview today Wednesday. the though of rescheduling did not even cross my mind as i seriously need a job. I left Osun for Lagos on Tuesday in readiness for my interview that was supposed to hold today. I got to the office about 1hr 30mins earlier than the time the interview was scheduled for and was met by a receptionist uttering the words "oh, sorry i forgot to call you..I actually thought you would come later than this. Your interview has been moved from 12 noon to 2pm". I then responded and made it clear that although I should have been informed earlier, it was still not a big issue. i opted to wait in the office till 2pm. When it was 2pm, i asked another staff to help me remind the receptionist that i was still waiting. A few minutes later, i was informed that the people that were supposed to interview me were still not ready. One was away on an assignment and the other was to start a meeting later. I was then asked to come back another day. Needless to say, I felt very bad as i waited that long only to be met with disappointment.
Dear Hiring managers, attitudes such as this one make job seekers feel bad. The long wait for mails(sometimes taking months), the needless habit of making job seekers wait for long hours before being attended to, the sometimes funny and unrealistic interview questions(a friend was asked why he didnt make all A's in his WAEC) amongst others are just so not fair. Please make job seekers feel like humans and not like slaves, afterall, the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. Who knows what will happen tomorrow when i show up at the office again?

PS: I studied Engineering (2-1) and i would be willing to forward my CV to anyone who so wishes to see it. I am sure one or two things would be of interest

Not all schools requires IELTS in the UK b4 getting the admission. E.g. University of Aberdeen gave me admission but requested for a letter from my school "confirming that my program was taught in English"

Bo$$, start applying to UK schools and you'll be surprised with the number of admissions you'll amass.
Really? Which course? And, what's the best time to seek admission to allow eligibility for scholarships? Obviously it's late to apply for the particular scholarship being discussed on this thread..

Don't think I'll be applying tho but I thought I needed clarification on this issue in preparation for some other opportunities that may present themselves. Are there any institutions in the UK that do not require IELTS or any other English proficiency test? I actually did a little surfing on the sites of Aberdeen and Salford universities and found out that they both require IELTS. Please enlighten me.
BTW, I studied civil engineering.

Lets say the person, wants to deposit 50k, which is the minimum , you tell the person to pay in an extra like 4k, so that by the time any charges are removed, it would never go below 50k on each account. Its important meeting the 2million naira target and also important not letting the individual accounts fall below 50k, otherwise the account would be invalid, so what would be considered are the number of valid accounts you have, and if its less than 10, it means you did not meet up, furthermore for those opening accounts in other cities, ensure the individuals put the code on the account opening form, else you just helped another prayerful banker meet his/her target lol...Good luck everyone, your going to have so much fun in this part.
Hi bro. Please how are we supposed to go about the template thing? Make an entirely new CV? Fill in as appropriate? If we have to fill in, are we supposed to fill I'm directly? Like I mean, in front of 'Name', are we to write our names in front or delete the 'name' entirely and replace it with our names?
Pls help me with this o

Hi all. I haven't been online for some time. I just checked my inbox now and discovered that Access hasn't sent me any other mail after the one they sent outlining the detail of stages involved in their recruitment. Could it be because I chose Ibadan as my test centre? Please who knows if I'm safe of if there's something wrong? Thanks

Dude! 3 days is too much of a notice time really. Back in the days when we were in the job hunting trenches, I had an interview once in a different city from my abode then, on A DAY's notice. I entered night bus and hit the town, then discovered in the morning while dressing up, that they stole my shoe from my luggage in the bus, so I dashed into the market, got a new shoe and still made it to the interview grin grin

What I'm trying to say is that, you must be prepared like a soldier, to take on any opportunity as they arrive. Most of these opportunities come only once a year, many people will not even get an invite, you have both age and class of degree to your advantage, so don't take it for granted.
Even when you eventually land the job, you'll still be having dead lines that must be met, WITHOUT excuses.
Yes sir. But if one would travel to Lagos from Sokoto for a test on a Saturday by 9am, one must have left Sokoto latest Thursday afternoon. I got the invite on Thursday morning, you know. Lesson learnt though....once more, thanks sir!! I could forward my CV to you, if you wouldn't mind sir.

Are you serious about your age?
Have you tried all the big 4; KPMG, Delloite, PWC, Ernst & Young, even McKinsey?
Give them close marking, no way they won't invite you for a test/chat.

All the best!
Yes sir, very serious. Graduated 2014 and came for national service last year May. I was amongst the top 10 in my class. I am just surprised that despite creating a thread, I only got views and no comments. My Abuja experience wasn't funny, only God used my uncle to help me.
Sir, about the 'Big 4', I recently applied to KPMG and I got a test invite. Sadly, I couldnt make it down to Lagos from Sokoto here. I got the invite about three days to the exam date. Writing a formal letter to my LGI and traveling to lagos to catch an exam which starts by 9am proved too difficult within the time. Do they accept unsolicited applications?
Thanks for taking time to attend to my case! I wish you God's best too sir!
