Flangelo12: Well done President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
👏 👏 👏
What did he do? Was it his initiative? Attributing sincere, hardworking and empathetic people's work to Tinubu is a ridiculous thing to do!
Over 60% of Fashola's ideas, efforts and executions are being attributed to Tinubu with the excuse that it was his "master plan" Meanwhile, he had 8 solid years to execute his "master plan" but didn't.
FuckYeyeMods: Trash! Telling you is not a big deal collecting the giveaway. Next time don't go into what you first describe to your fellow man. That is very stupid of you. I assure you, you must be very rude in reality
I'm Sorry. I take it back. Let's stick to politics and not family.
FuckYeyeMods: Abeg! Shut it.. Which one be birthright or future. If you're married, you'll understand that small things like this means alot. If I tell you my take home, you'll open your mouth in waoh! But if I see something like this, I will quickly collect and call my wife to come collect if its nearby. The money I will savefrom this, I don't mind using it to buy hoverboard for my kid. Any government that will come, will not knock your door to give you food or cash. As usual, what we'll see is inflation index, investors confidence, Foreign reserve, GDP per capital and all those gibberish that don't directly put food on the table. If you don't mind, outline one or two thing you firmly believe will definitely change if you choice candidate get the number one seat.
Na wa o. I want to believe that your wife is the smarter one. How will you know? She must have complained about it or there are little issues in the marriage, could be on and off. If there are no issues, then, it's either she's silently strategic about it or she's no different from you.
You'll call your wife to leave whatever she's doing, even sleeping, just to go and queue, sorry, struggle to get a carton with small rice, salt and indomie, not from a businessman or NGO, but from a politician that is being called out on different controversial standard of living determining topics and is about to run for office again? Then, you think you've saved money, then, you go ahead to buy your son an hover board?
What we want is for the economy to make sense to anyone qualified. You wouldn't need to call your wife and go to struggle and fight for a little pack that can't sustain your family past a week. You would afford to feed without struggles and buy your kids hover boards and more, as long as you are qualified to earn money (via employment or business). This is Food we are talking about in a country like Nigeria!!!
Dijita: I am not sure of what you are talking about. I am responding to you because you include my post.
Given that you include Tinubu education overseas shows that you seems not to know what you are talking about. additionally, thinking that #200,000 tuition for medical education at UNN is slave mentality shows that you absolutely did not have an idea of what you are talking about and that is one of the reason among many reasons we are having problem in Nigeria.
I schooled in Nigeria and one of the poorest during my time. In my time because I could not come up with #20 second semester registration , I had to pay #40. Because I didn't have bank account and did not know anyone with checking account I had to walk for more than two hours going from one bank to the other in Marina and Apapa Lagos until a good Samaritan employee of a bank help me to buy the bank draft from his own account. I told you that story to let you understand that you are not talking to someone who doesn't understand the benefit of free/subsidised education.
The point of my posting is that #200,000 for medical education tuition is practically free education. Education is a very expensive endeavor in any part of the world. Nigeria 2025 budget was $36.5 billion. New York University budget for 2025 was about $18 billion, that is just one university in the US. You can see the difference. Even if Nigeria is ranked as the least corrupt country in the world, we still can not provide quality medical education absolutely free like Germany and some other developed countries.
Some of these countries population is not up to 25% of our population and their per capita GDP dwarfed our own. I will admit that i don't know much about their education system. However, given your false assertion regarding education in the US. You claimed "They were fed for free, daily, across all levels of education! Eating chicken and cow everyday on campus.", I believe your assertion of those countries may not be true
Unless you are on scholarship, United States government yes subsidized education heavily. They however, don't feed all students free with chicken and cow across all level of education. Yes, if you are poor , they will provide you free breakfast and lunch in elementary and secondary school but in higher education.
In the united states, you are required to pay your full tuition. You can apply for loan and grant base on the income reported on your tax return.
If you are middle or upper class, you may get zero grant and therefore will be required to take government loan and if what you qualify for in government loan is not enough to pay your tuition you can go to private bank to borrow more. If you are going to school ranked in the category of UNN (highly ranked in Nigeria, could be considered Nigeria Ivy league) No matter how poor you are, government grant most likely will not cover your tuition. You will have to get loan, some rich universities may offer you need based scholarship but not for you to live large. That is undergraduate.
Medical school is a different ball. unless your parent is rich or extremely brilliant to get scholarships. You would consider yourself lucky if you graduate medical school with less than $250,000 in student loan. Having said all that, the system is far better than Nigeria.
I see comprehension issues here. I didn't say US was feeding them cow and chicken daily. That happened in Nigeria here. We heard the stories... Even lecturers confessed to us while on campus.
You've written so much without justifying the reason for a sudden 100% hike. Meanwhile, this is the second hike in about 3 years.
Don't worry. In the coming years, you'll walk into the hospital to see for yourself or read reports on shortage of qualified medical practitioners. A few days ago, it was a report of no anti-venom right? More is underway. Go and read about Zimbabweans health sector collapse.
Seriously, there is no justification for the hype. Since they increased school fees, there has been no major facility or equipment deployments to schools all over Nigeria by the federal government. They just want to tie people down here with loans and debts so they have people to oppress and can always write to USA, UN, World Bank, IMF, AFDB, etc. for help.
A new administration would come in and student debt pardon would be part of the manifesto that will win the hearts and votes of people.
If they deploy anything between now and the elections, it's strictly campaign tactics.
Dijita: The information would have been complete if you include both the old and the new fees. Increasing #100,000 to #200,000 for medical education is not what I will protest. However going from #400,000 to #800,000 is another case entirely.
MrPresident1: Let them sign undertaking that they will work in Nigeria for at least five years after graduation. After five years then they can japa to wherever
We cannot train you with public funds and then you will now Japa to go and be enjoyning in European and American and Saudi and Kuwait and Aussie
If the Chinese, Russians, Ukrainians, Americans, Swiss and Britons were thinking this way, the world would be far from global development. Same Tinubu was abroad to study, and work for yearsssss. Heavily benefited from subsidize education. They were fed for free, daily, across all levels of education! Eating chicken and cow everyday on campus.
If there were enough jobs, then, well-paying jobs in Nigeria, would they want to relocate permanently?
Haven't we read severally that Nigerian doctors treat your slave masters abroad?
This level of allegiance (towards becoming a slave) that will make me lose my logical sense of reasoning to fooling around, Lord, I refuse it. Don't give me too much, so I don't become foolish, and don't make me poor (financially, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally) , that I can be bought like a commodity to lose my conscience and justify evil. Amen.
Honestly, I'm tired of wailing. The leaders we have in power today are starting to irritate me. I'll explain why briefly.
There are very few policy designers and solution providers in power today. It's simply "call and response" or "trial and error"
Knowing that that place is a local business hub that processes tens of millions of naira daily, a lot of items, people, and waste... A well-thinking administration would know that it's a good place to recycle items and collect waste. LAWMA or another agency should make provision of waste management and charge the market - another source of revenue and an easy way to recycle items...
You may not know, but nylon bags, paper bags are banned in Lagos state without a logical substitute. You're going to the supermarket, but you have to go with the item to carry what you're purchasing!!!
Ban this! Ban that!!!
You take the wrong direction without any notice, warning or sign in an environment you don't know, LASTMA/FRSC are so dumb that their first reaction would be to impound your vehicle.
immaculatesense: I thought NYSC should have exposed some of you beyond your states and local government na. Oh sorry, not all of your graduated from school or had opportunity to serve. I served in Ebonyi state in Ezza North to be precise just a little less than 10 years ago and I can say authoritatively that there was no single bank in the whole of Ezza North at the time. We had to go to Abaliki before we could make withdrawals. I knew how many kilometers we had to trek just to make a call, we couldn't even receive calls because there were no network. How will REAL TIME transmission of results work in those areas? Or election should not hold in those areas abi? So, if them ask you no, you go answer say banks dey all local government in Nigeria abi? Dey there.
No Be Juju Be Dat?
Based on what you've written here, I want to believe that you're in your late 30s, early 40s, or 50s depending on how early you had your NYSC. So, I'll blame this level of reasoning in response to the accountability of an obvious lie on your age.
It will be sad if you're in your 30s, honestly!
Modified: Reading more of your comments now and I'm highly disappointed! People really engaged you, and a few of them mentioned thought-provoking statements. This is not even about picking party sides, but the mindset. It is well with you and your generations
Reference: You sound like me in your last paragraph eleven years ago on this forum.
When I went to Benin by road middle of the year and returned with waist pain that lasted three days due to the horrible roads the cycle was complete.
Never believe what they tell you they will achieve by the yoke they put round your neck. All the Buhari hype on the infrastructure they claimed his government excelled in is just smoke and mirrors. Most highways remain in terrible state.
All the taxes they will burden you with will not result in any noticable improvement in your standard of living by the time they leave government.
Just imagine!
I don't know if there's a rule that says institutional development cannot co-exist with infrastructural development. All they know is repair roads, build a few bridges. The remainder of the money is spent on their allowances, cars and trips. Although, roads and bridges are not bad, but we can't stay on this every tenure.
Do you know what irritates me the most with this administration? I'll tell you
Let's assume that all of these "slow down the economy, widen the tax net, reduce purchasing power, unify rates, devalue currency, remove subsidy, student loan, power supply by bands", increased custom duty etc., are actually the plans to make this country move forward. Again an assumption!
Administrations as far back as year 2000 have wanted to introduce some of these plans in bits, but Tinubu was like their number 1 critique. Even this man championing the Tax Act criticized previous administrations. Now, he's doing everything at once, as in, every of the agenda, all at once!
What if there was a better time to do it and the better time was years ago? What if the economy had recovered years ago? This indirectly means that this man slowed down the country for yearssssss? I blame the previous administration, even though, they had listening ears.
One thing is sure! There's no plan! At the end of the tenure or tenures, Nigerians would realize that this was another "trial and error" administration that only delivered a few roads or other related infrastructures, but unfortunately, the cut would be so deep that the country would take longer to recover.
Spiritmask: Opay don't charge the sender, but the receiver, from next year, both the sender and receiver will pay N50. Currently only the receiver pays the N50, from next year, the sender will start paying it,. What it means is that if you are sending N10,000+ to your love ones, bank will charge a total of N100, N50 from u and N50 from them. Example, if you want to send N10000 for something urgent, you have to have N10100, then you will send N10050, bank will deduct 50 from your account, when it reach the receiver, they will get N10,000 after bank have deducted another N50. This charges is only for stamps duty, and other charges will be included during the transaction
You made a mistake while trying to explain.
Current way: Beneficiary pays N50 on inflows from N10k and above.
New way (January 1st): Senders pays the N50 alongside other bank charges, if any. The beneficiary will get the full N10k or above. Zero charges to the receiver.
malali: You assume, i dont have money....Let me tell you God has blessed me. I need nothing from Dangote or Farouk.
5 million dollars is chicken change, to me. Dangote should fight his battles alone, dont use Nigerians to fight for him. He just woke up last night to see that Farouk is corrupt ? Then he turned to Sowore this morning.....LMAO
CorrectionFLuid: . First time in a long while I'm seeing something built by the government (especially State government) that actually looks nice and solid.
Soludo is here using local masons with hand trowel to mould Sandy block. SMH. .
Do you guys read at all? The description was so short, yet you didn't read it.
Seems all the money during Buhari's regime is nearly exhausted. The man wants to be back on screen hoping to be an Ambassador, Spokesperson or Minister by 2027
In viral video clips, the cleric declared that the minister had failed spiritually and would not become governor, describing his messages as a “warning from God”.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUoouGDBiNM Nigerian Senators just dropped the HAMMER on skyrocketing airfares that are ROBBING citizens blind—and they’ve issued an URGENT SUMMONS to Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo PLUS all the big airline bosses! “This is daylight robbery!” Senators fume as ticket prices hit the ROOF overnight! 😡 The Red Chamber is DEMANDING answers RIGHT NOW! Is this the end of crazy flight prices? Will Keyamo finally face the music? Drop your thoughts below—things are about to get HEATED in the aviation sector! 🔥
If Nigerian Air was fully functional there would be no need for any summon. The time spent on discussing this would have been spent on other relevant matters.
This list is not based on reliability test. It's based on what moved the Nigerian market, and what Nigerians have come to accept.
For instance, test by experts in the car assessment industry have shown that the Camry 2014 model (not sure the year, but the model after Muscle) is outstanding.
keymatt: Let me dive into your madness and engage with you. Among the mass shooters in America, give us example of: - Those deliberately left to escape. - Repentant shooters employed into American Army. - Shooters that were arrested and never tried and convicted.
I'll wait.
Lemme add to it since some of them have traded their sense of reasoning for a few tens of thousands.
- a case of shooting/kidnapping/terrorism where no one was arrested - a case of shooting and the culprits were bragging online and nothing was done - a case where the presidency of the POTUS was seen having peace talks with terrorist - a case of serious atrocities like this and there was no open investigation. By the way if the USA didn't get involved, nothing would have changed today - a case where ordinary party members were defending genocide/mass shooting (not gun bill o)
You just survived life imprisonment here in Nigeria, but still went to UK to repeat same offence , no it is a generational curse
He didn't repeat it, his past life caught up with him. Their assumption that he may run away or commit another offense seems justifiable, that's why he's remanded until next year. He's been on their watchlist for years!!!
helinues: Considering the improvements in most of the sectors in Nigeria except for the security, we should be expecting real improvement with INEC in 2027.
The world is advancing, the era of writing figures, hijacking ballot boxes are fading away
Helinues, something is different, not for good, it's just odd. It's either they changed your team/department, changed your motive, betrayed you, or whatever.
By the way, things were more stable than this in 2023. the only issue in the country was scarcity of cash, but transfers were working, NIBSS had little to no hiccups. Yet, your government led IN*C still gave us a story, internal issue o not even external, not even a hack and they proceeded with the elections rather than rescheduling.
You should know that there's no ballot box hijack that is not powered directly or indirectly by a political party. No thug acts alone during elections.
Security and humanity has to improve for a free and fair election!
MarkNsukkaBread: I'm happy you made that statement I highlighted, at least it confirms that there are more people who realize that the recent escalation in kidnap incidents in Nigeria is the work of opposition politicians.
I blame the APC for using violence via bomb blasts to create fear which helped them defeat Jonathan in 2014 so they must take part of the blame but people should not pretend that kidnapping started in Nigeria recently
I've been observing your comments. There's no way a patriotic mind will pour out the things you write. If you think you're knowledgeable and can deceive us here, you're very far from it.
If the bolded text is what they have told you guys to come and tell us, this is 2025, it's not that easy any more!
Opposition parties?! Yet your government says they can't find them nor their sponsors?! Your government can't deploy the armed forces to the affected areas, but could deploy to End SARS easily? Ordinary Nigerians, even VDM have been to some affected communities! Not even a governor or Senator?!
They don't know them, but they've been going for peace talks, yet the kidnapping is not reducing?! Since you know, why haven't you helped the government anonymously?
You APC lots! Party over collective progress and security! You're not even bold enough to use your real name, you had to fake "Mark Nsukka"
Don't bother replying me. You won't get a response!
This ud what happens when you give such people a chance in office and a voice in power. They never went there to do any reasonable work. Only to slow doe the country, make money and push their selfish agenda.
Meanwhile, when we that want this nation to move forward spoke during their nature some people were after us even on this platform. They are done with their tenure and we are all agreeing that it was a mess.
Same thing is repeating itself. It would have been worse if President Trump didn't step in.
