Even Jesus preached about men, women, husbands & wives, children, church, government & governance, society, devil, money etc... His disciples did the same, too, but they all made it clear that salvation is the first and only priority |
madridguy:Two wrongs don't make a right. You're wrong about this. So, we have to fast and pray or pay a huge sum to get the international passport? Would this act make it out of reach to those who have intentions to go against the law? |
Our politicians need training on Business Intelligence, Project Delivery & Project Management. With excellent skills in these trainings, they would know how to ban whatever it is they want to ban... - Ban importation of tomatoes amidst insecurity without having enough supplies... Price went up. - Ban importation of rice without solid plans. Now there is a lot of fake and pre-packaged rice in the market. - Ban Okada totally without plans to cover the gap... |
nairalanda1: flexyrule:No matter how I try to think of it, I just can't fathom it. There's no way FIFA disbursed that money without calculating what it will cost to build an actual mini-stadium. There's no way FIFA disbursed that money expecting to see this photo as the end result. Uploading those pictures were to ridicule Nigeria in a subtle way. By the way, that $1.2 million dollars per stadium would build a stadium with drainage, sitting space for players & coaches (maybe collapsible type) and viewers, changing room, media room, and maintenance section, at least. We are talking of N2 billion naira here. A rural area, cheap labor and a nation that has most of the raw materials needed. That pitch is not even suitable for a training ground! I want to believe that the contractors are not yet done. |
Obiedun:This is such an irrelevant statistics ![]() If you were to in anyway involve the population, the best metrics would have been "per capita" |
I don't quite understand. Can someone please summarize, especially the part where dollars were mentioned? I read it but it's not entirely clear |
RollinTNDA:Most of the things you mentioned there are powered by internet today. DSTV, News, etc. Yeah! They told you satellite, but still powered by internet. The radio and newspaper would be just fine for you. Today, clear transmission on the radio is with the help of internet, too. |
"The beginning of the end" The quest for power and the strife to satisfy their bellies God be praised! |
Sonnobax15:You people will still come in the nearest future to say Babatunde Raji Fashola (BRF) did not do anything. What's the essence of building schools if the exisiting ones are not running as expected, even bearest minimum? Peter Obi renovated schools, hospitals, and built health centres. Fashola did the same in Lagos. Students started to sit on proper classroom chairs and desks, got free text books, reviewed the curriculum. Meanwhile, before Fashola did this, Tinubu was governor for 8yrs. Every new governor is expected to come in with a good plan, manage the infrastructure of the existing governor and implement his/her plan. |
These people have officially left governance for party politics and project 2027. They don't seem to be focused and busy. |
Mandy6068:Check your JAMB portal you shoukd find your payment there. If you can't, send a mail to the payment processor (most likely Remita, but conform first ) |
As part of the review, it will be interesting and worthy if they can assess the budget he presented for 2025, what was approved and the impact of the approved budget as stipulated. If they find variance (not just in figures, but practicality, too) they should be invited to defend it before this is approved. This exercise will take months, but it will expose mismanagement of funds and looted funds. This should apply to other states as well. They all got better allocations this year. Better developments should follow, too |
Elections are nearby. There's no other better time to implement what you'd have done on any other day and still listen to the voices of the masses asking to rollback the policy because it's not favorable. On a normal day, they wouldn't care about the cry of the people asking them to rollback the obvious poor timing policy deliverabilty |
Elock1:I don't need Google to align with the people of Morocco about their priorities. Healthcare provides jobs, comfort, a sense of purpose, a sense of belonging, peace of mind and motivation to the young, old and even students. Education is knowledge, and knowledge is power. These two should truly come first before any massive Stadium. Since you have Google, go and read about US, UK, China, Singapore, Dubai, and Australia. Please, do so and learn before the next elections. If you don't know where to start, start with China. |
Elock1:Please, explain further. We want to learn from your thoughts process about how a government would debit the nation and outsource a project worth over 2 billion dollars for a tournament of 3 months or less, and this would create jobs and a long lasting effect compared to spending the same on education and Healthcare - that wouldn't create job opportunities and add to the country's economy |
brain54:Hmmmmm This topic is mostly answered with emotions. See that part of your comment where I put in bold. That's how it should be. That's humanity - to look after one another. The saying "love your neighbor as yourself" is very bold statements that means a lot. Yes, look after those that look after you and show love to others unconditionally, but not at the expense of sacrificing your life. Christ did that already. All fingers are not equal, but at least, put in effort. Some people don't want to do anything (including learning). They just keep asking for money and squandering it. Showing love is not all about money every now and then. I can help with job offers, gifts once in a while etc. but imagine the typical black tax and entitlement these days. Everyone is expected to be useful to the family, society and nation, at large. Please share more about the Chinese tradition, because from what I know about them, there's no room for laziness. There are so many family businesses there, too |
Gerrard59:The government that does not have money to subsidize education has money (in billions) to buy luxury vehicles every 4 years (or less) then still pay billions to customize the vehicles to bullet-proofs. They still have money for several other stuff that are secondary, too. If they intend to invest in education, even for a category of students, they will. This government benefits more from the lack of education of their population. Asides the fees to get educated, what about the type of courses and curriculum? |
Guestmale:Lol! Now that they've floated the Naira, so, the official exchange today tells us the real value? Also, does the cost of the dollar determine the cost of local education for the best labor (a reasonable and necessary input in any economy targeting transitioning to a producing nation) of the largest black nation? Joke of the year! The true position is that the idea was copied from the West. The government does not want to subsidize anything including education. It's a revenue-generating government. From the budget allocation you can tell the plans they have... Nothing more, nothing less. |
rtdCivilservant:Who made the naira lose its value? Who is managing the sectors determining the naira? One man increased school fees by more than X10. I understand that some were paying N8k at a time, then it was re-adjusted to N14k. Then from N14k to about N200k. How do you explain this? Public Universities should be subsidize and well-equipped but no, the case is different here. Some of the structures in the institutions were built by private individuals, organizations, alumnus, etc Rather than equipping the educational sector, they are screaming "student loans" like it's some sort of timely and innovative policy |
peretei2024:Start with discussing with him, first. After all his explanation, you can then renegotiate to reduce the amount. |
Let's just say this is a "Fundraising event" Shout out to the award event organizers. |
"You are lucky to have a president that believes in the rule of law,” he added.HE Sir. Nyesom Wike will be the worst president Nigeria ever had if he runs for office and wins. Anything after this Ministerial appointment may be disastrous. |
tunjion: tunjion: tunjion: tunjion:I have nothing to say to you. I just want people to see your thought processes and conclusions. |
Owaincouncil:You think so or we will have it worse than the USA? |
SeeWahala:Why should it be "fake baygon" and "fake raid"? If they can produce it why didn't they just start theirs, get certified and compete? Seems you're into this line of business, too. Go and get certified before you're found. Your penalty may be worse than the brothers arrested! |
SeeWahala:"The suspect, who operated an illegal factory in a residential building, was apprehended alongside his younger brother after NAFDAC operatives uncovered counterfeit insecticides, sealing machines, and other equipment at the premises. In the same operation, NAFDAC sealed MZEE Table Water, an illegal packaged water factory in the Damangaza district, for operating under unhygienic conditions with a fake and expired license. The facility lacked basic requirements such as a certified borehole and water treatment system." If the products were good, it won't cost them anything to get the license. Imagine just pumping borehole water and packing it and selling to people to drink raw borehole water. What if the water storage tank is dirty? That a water is not brown, black or similar does not mean it's healthy. Counterfeit insecticides too? The risk of unlicensed/counterfeit products in the market; Harmful to humans, waste of consumers funds, public deceit, possible manslaughter, possibility of introducing a new disease, possibility of starting a spree of kidney disease/failure, possibility of spreading cancer, etc. |
If she didn't miss her biometrics, I would have said this is true. She gave them the opportunity to punish her. She missed her biometric attendance and definitely without a written and signed justification. It's typical of NYSC to give extension. She's not the only one with 2 months extension. I'm pretty sure there are over 100 others serving the 2 months. Just serve your two months. This is not a case you can win, sadly. A few weeks ago, A new NYSC member who did redeployment failed to complete some documentation. We tried to push some buttons, but then, we had to let him return to that state of posting to rectify things before returning to Lagos. Better than waiting until after service year then you pay dearly for it. |
helinues:Attributing Fintech's breakthrough, and struggles to the presidency is wild! 😂 Tell us the actions he did. Same copy and paste script by every past president - block dollar payment, after a while, restore access and claim its working. If you can't tell us what he did, I'll tell you how Fintech's went about it. |
Blakhorse:Lol! Technology is meant to bring ease to the people. An administration that is supposed to be the giant of Africa improved a process of capturing and collection and they increased the fee by 3x? Common! 3x per applicant?! Imagine if you pay that high for all technology solutions in the nation! This shouldn't even be coming from the federal government of a nation. They select what they copy from other nations. Please, do a research about the cost of a passport across the world. Compare it to their minimum wages, too. Even nations that has well-respected and powerful passports don't charge this high. You can use an AI tool for easy access to information. Let's stop supporting these things out of whatever allegiance. If they continue to increase fees ehn, you may not live up to your full potentials. Maybe you've forgetten everything this administration has increase in just about 2 years |
blamingthedevil:Lol! You people will really do anything to support wrong doings. If we are to follow this your analogy with other things in this life, you will not be able to afford anything. You and all of you supporting what you wrote/copied up there. Don't rush to defend it or tackle me. Sit down and think about it, substitute the passport for other things (needs, wants, and pleasures). |
asfrank: Honestey:Two wrongs don't make a right. The current leaders are blaming previous leaders for putting the nation in a bad shape, but the same leaders are doing worse. There's nothing wrong in increasing the price of a nation's passport as the world evolves. This current administration has increased it twice in about 2 years in office. Do you know the effect of a N10,000 increment in a single passport of a nation? Good income! Now imagine over N70k per application! That's extortion, and an abnormal profit, no cap! You and I don't know the plans they have in the remaining tenure as well as the 2nd tenure run. If the citizens don't speak, this government is at liberty to increase anything as much as 1000%. Come to think of it, this administration has increased the price of everything causing a multiplier effect across everything in the country. It's not a matter of Obi or a case of tarnishing the current administration, it's a way of telling the government to rethink their policies. It's a cry on the standard of living of the citizens. The costs are being parsed all at once on the citizens. People want to make good progress in life and the government can help with that without a direct intervention. If you were to move 30 bags of cement from point A to B. When they start loading it for you, if you don't say, "this is enough weight for me to carry to point B" they will load all on you and you will crash without moving to point B. With all of these increments here and there, the government is still heavy on loans! |
