pembisco:Even beyond this, what those guys up there don't know is that Nigeria is in a similar situation... Nigeria is going through a lot of insecurity-related issues, yet ee have a part of the army deployed to other African countries. I guess they don't know this. |
PheelzAlmighty:Maybe Guinea Bissau, Burkina Faso or Ghana, then you would really wish you were born in Nigeria ![]() |
He's trying to steer clear, but the funny thing with those bandits is that, when they see this news, they can choose to prove to him that there is an agenda against Christianity for different reasons but mainly for preaching/evangelism plus trying to convert the Muslims, and trying to introduce western education in "their region" They really can target any catholic church, doesn't have to be big. The Bandits have stated their agenda since but Most Reverend Father here believes otherwise. The statistics may be overstated, but the reality on ground can't be denied. |
Mbanda:You meant APC DSS |
SpencerForbes:Lol! You should research it. I've known this since secondary school. I don't think a lot has changed. If the currency doesn't depreciate, your chances of selling at x10 or x20 is really optimistic. It's a store of value for long-term with the hope that your currency depreciates. Imagine buying some gold rings or jewelries for N10m with the hope to sell it for N50m in 5-10 years. That's some really optimistic move! If the currency doesn't depreciate, that would be harder. The reason why a Corolla sold for N2M is sold for N5M today isn't because of appreciation, it's because of the depreciation of the currency. Don't forget, there are now advanced methods of refining gold, and there are more discoveries of gold. The projection in the future is looking good. Economically speaking, you know what this means for the next 10-20 years. |
SpencerForbes:Gold is just a store of value, it's not a appreciating investment. It appreciates if the currency appreciates. |
asfrank:It's all of them. Wike's children have escorts, Seyi has police escorts, his wife has police escorts, too. One president moves with about 100 vehicles full of escorts. |
Wike alone has about 20 men protecting him. Don't know about his wife and children. The president has over 100 men from different agencies protecting him. Ned Nwoko has about 10 men. Some politicians driver, house help, chef, etc. are police officers. Now imagine the total number of police officials deployed to politicians and VIPs. This article says we have a total of 371,800 police officials. We definitely have more than 2,000 VIPs. Over 6,000 police officers are attached to VIPs. Again, not all officers are trained for combat, some are just there to maintain peace e.g. traffic warden. Some are ghost workers. Some are old! I recall that this was raised sometime last year or a few years ago, and Reno Omokri defended it saying a lot of people are after the lives of VIPs, especially Tinubu. |
This is why my level of doubt is low, a lot of these protests has economic advantages. That's why they come out carrying placards, then when you ask them, they know nothing about the subject matter. We've seen videos where protesters were asked and they said they were paid to come out. Sometimes the amount is as ridiculous as N5k per person, and they will still owe some people money at then end of the day. A protest where the people truly come out without being motivated financially feels different, and almost everybody is in agreement. If a protest is called for today against genocide, we know what the turn out will be. If there's an anti-genocide protest, we know it's staged and most of the protesters were motivated financially. |
In a certain region, they believe that they are part of Nigeria, but the law does not apply to them until those they consider their own leaders inform them. |
Having read most of the comments on the first page, all I can say is that we don't deserve to lube in the same country with some human beings with terrible reasoning and sense of judgement. One said "it was politically motivated... He fell into the trap" Another said "the UK government is hellbent and they are doing too much." Seems you forgot what the Nigerian government did to the Binance guy. By the way, it is a shame and an embarrassment for a former Senator to find himself in such a crime, it's more shameful to see the FG agitating to have him back to Nigeria - (so they can negotiate with him and give him an appointment in office again). The Former Senator is lucky to have attempted to do the organ trafficking & hijacking in UK. If it were some other countries, it would have been worse than this |
Eraddray:You'll think that we're making progress in the country and people are getting informed until you read some people's thought process. Whoever wrote that article at Daily Trust is a s1lly fellow! Just look at the first few people that commented on this thread before you! Very d#mb people stanning nonsense. With all the glaring evidence online |
Freshfish4:The president invited Ronaldo and others to come... Same President Trump left his office to go watch and celebrate Messi live |
Lol! It's the second term that will tell ![]() |
Kushites:If this is how you think, and you think other people's thinking capacity is below PAR, then, you are the problem. Averagely, Nigeria is loosing citizens - Christians, Muslims, children, military personnel of different ranks that we expect to be our help. Now, help is coming, voluntarily, but this is what you're saying - because it's "Christians" that is being mentioned in the media. Back to the question you asked, Nigeria is facing problems internally, yet, they deploy military forces to help outside. America have people to help, yet, Nigeria and other countries gets funding every month. You may not know that Nigeria has been getting free money from USA to deal with insecurity. Now they don't want to give cash, they want to give personnel resources, but you're protesting. Imagine a wife collecting exorbitant money from the husband for whatever reasons (school fees, food, etc). Now, the husband wants to go to the market or school one day, he did well to tell the wife, but the wife, her children, and her family members are screaming upandan. |
Pierocash:The officer is bound by his oath to serve which is connected to the Millitary parastatal laws as well as the constitution of Nigeria. There is no law that says the governor of a state/Minister can give actionable orders to military officers on a mission. You either reason with them or you ask for their commander and deal with that. What if the order to the Millitary officers was from the Presidency? The officer would have faced more sanctions if he didn't follow the command he was given than what occurred there. |
ALTERNATEID:You people don't understand how it works. A Military Officer is not trained to take instructions from a Governor, Senator, House of Reps member, Minister. They are trained to take instructions from Senior Ranking Military Officers and the President - who is the Chief of Armed Forces. Others do it out of respect to the political office holder. They can relate with you, but you can't order them around on relevant matters. So, if their Senior Millitary Officer has told them "nobody" they will obey it to the very end unless a senior or more senior level officer intervenes. Wike knows this and should have stopped the embarrassment before it started. By the way, that officer is a 3-star officer, in Military ranking, he may be higher or equivalent to Wike. By the way, I'm not taking sides. It is what they designed themselves that is playing out. We've seen videos of governors clashing with Millitary Officers. |
Did I hear Mr. Nyesom Wike say "if not that the Chief of Defense called me, we could have killed everybody here" Modified: That soldier is a 3-star officer. He is either Wike's set or above him in political office holding rank |
Politically motivated Prot*sts. MOWAA is not in your favour, therefore, you called thugs to go and say a particular "chant" then disrupt the place. Whether MOWAA or Benin Royal Museum, the fight about where to have the artifacts was won! All the artworks and artifacts will be returned to Benin, not Abuja, Lagos, nor Calabar! Yet, they had to get pay those Youngs guys (AKA th*gs) small money to go disrupt the event just because of the "place in Benin" As long as it's Benin, the tourists will travel to Benin, and the revenue will still be made! See how political figures drive prot*st and insecurity in the country!!! To confirm this, no one will be arrested nor sent for a hearing! |
WatchYourSix:Lol! So, on your MTN line, if you exhaust your data subscription, you can use the YouTube data to stream on YouTube.com? |
MTN is not working, too... Last time it worked was over two years ago. I'd write to them first. |
Mastermind2025:So, issues don't happen? This your username doesn't suit you, but with this your narrative, I understand. |
This guy is claiming Senator didn't credit his account. Senator credited your Mother and your Sister, then they credited you. This is what happens when a man chooses to settle with a generation of over 40yrs apart. Awoof dey run belle! Works for both sides. |
Kobicove:Lol! It's not fake, but it's not always like this everytime. It's more common with international flights. Our local flights have it, too... You can book a local flight to confirm it. It's been like this for a while. |
Nigeria is lying on insecurity to collect money from the USA. The USA now is saying rather than collecting money from us let us come to deal with the issue, but some Nigerians said they want to come and steal our resources. |
nairalanda1:It is you that I need to tell. I figured that I had engaged you in the past for a similar case where you're supporting the inefficiency and "funny" comments of govt officials. I just saw another post on Nairaland's homepage that 2 Law Makers disagreed with Trump. I had to mention it here in case you don't read wide. 2 Law Makers, not even equivalent to Nigeria's Senate President commented against their President's stance, but you're there supporting him saying "who is he? The President should respond" By the way, no one asked him to deny President Tinubu's stance. Come to think of it, if you were US, do the comparison of the comment of just the President versus the comments of the President and other govt officials of different political parties. If they need aid of any kind from the United States now, will they leave it solely to the President? Wouldn't he and his Senators deliberate on it. Other law makers will speak, discuss on TV, grant press conference or write to the press... Yet, you say protocol! |
nairalanda1:Please, let's call a spade "a spade" Others gave their comment on the matter - whether for or against. What does he mean by "who is he?". He is the f**king Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He moderates Senators/Constituencies across Nigeria. He's the official spokesperson of the Senate/National Assembly. He's responsible for reviewing bills and presenting to the president. He should have first hand information for the president and charge the senators to get to work. He is supposed to be the check and balance coordinator of the interventions of the presidency. He is a key National Leader!!! Now you say "protocol". What protocol?! Trump spoke, his Senators and Congress Men did not say "who am I?" That's a funny way of saying "They have said it all" which usually sounds dumb. I hate to admit, but like some people previously said, if it were Senator Natasha now, he has so much to say. Even though, the cases are different, the time for meaningful affairs (E.g. Insecurity) were spent deliberately on Senator Natasha's case, knowing fully well that the Senate meets only twice or thrice weekly. |
odejimioflagos:Leave that WhatsApp group & community. Your prosperity is not there. Just a means of survival and it is not guaranteed... |
RhemaJet7:Your comment is a total disconnect, except the text on bold. By the way, there's no best way to unite Nigeria than to stop every post on tribalism... Even though, you comment seem to speak for one Nigeria, you still planted some thoughts-provoking elements of tribalism... Please, leave the topic alone. Others will move on with time, too... No need for agitating. |
DSS don't see posts like this. They see the post of citizens without guns or ammunition... They just read my comment now |
COMPAQ:This is your experience, quite logical but should not be generalized. A step that can set Nigeria further backwards. Some solutions for you; 1. Get a bigger wallet so, you can hold more cash. 2. Go digital with payments, there are so many options today. 3. Accept change and progressive development. 4. Patronize places where you can also pay with bank transfer or card payment. 5. You don't have to carry all the cash about. You can always get cash at ATMs or POS operators when you get to anywhere you're going and you're running low on cash. 6. Put more cash at home, so, you can take at your will. |
That's a very stupid advise. No analyst said this... This is the special advisers and people or policy trying to test the waters. They want to find out how the public would react... This is very lame... 1. We are advocating for cashless policy. The rise of Fintechs are helping out to reduce the gap of financial inclusion. 2. More money in the system means transaction can be tracked rather than cash transactions 3. There is no easier way to render an economy useless than to print higher denomination. 4. The USA, UK, China, Germany and other developed nations didn't go this route. 5. There's no easier way to aid theft, kidnapping, laundering, inflation, that to go this route. Nigeria finally bribed their way and cooked the reports to appear good internationally, but just imagine how backward and selfish their thinking is... Like I said, no analyst said this, they are just testing the waters... I really hope that these people are thinking. At least, use Chat GPT if they've forgotten what they learnt. |

. Just look at the math: a plot bought for ₦1 million three years ago will surely not sell for less than ₦2 million or ₦3 million now. That’s the kind of appreciation you want.
