The president has over 100 men from different agencies protecting him.

Some politicians driver, house help, chef, etc. are police officers. Now imagine the total number of police officials deployed to politicians and VIPs.

This article says we have a total of 371,800 police officials. We definitely have more than 2,000 VIPs. Over 6,000 police officers are attached to VIPs. Again, not all officers are trained for combat, some are just there to maintain peace e.g. traffic warden. Some are ghost workers. Some are old!

I recall that this was raised sometime last year or a few years ago, and Reno Omokri defended it saying a lot of people are after the lives of VIPs, especially Tinubu.

This is why my level of doubt is low, a lot of these protests has economic advantages. That's why they come out carrying placards, then when you ask them, they know nothing about the subject matter. We've seen videos where protesters were asked and they said they were paid to come out. Sometimes the amount is as ridiculous as N5k per person, and they will still owe some people money at then end of the day.

A protest where the people truly come out without being motivated financially feels different, and almost everybody is in agreement.

If a protest is called for today against genocide, we know what the turn out will be. If there's an anti-genocide protest, we know it's staged and most of the protesters were motivated financially.

In a certain region, they believe that they are part of Nigeria, but the law does not apply to them until those they consider their own leaders inform them.

Having read most of the comments on the first page, all I can say is that we don't deserve to lube in the same country with some human beings with terrible reasoning and sense of judgement.

The officer is bound by his oath to serve which is connected to the Millitary parastatal laws as well as the constitution of Nigeria.


There is no law that says the governor of a state/Minister can give actionable orders to military officers on a mission. You either reason with them or you ask for their commander and deal with that. What if the order to the Millitary officers was from the Presidency?

The officer would have faced more sanctions if he didn't follow the command he was given than what occurred there.

Sorry but we are no longer under a military dictatorship. In a democracy, the military is subjected to civilian control.

Nobody has the power to deploy soldiers for an internal operation without the approval of Mr. President. So, it is illegal to deploy soldiers to go and be protecting a private land of a retired soldier.

Again, it is illegal for anybody to obstruct FCT officials from carrying out their legitimate duties. If we allow just anybody to use access to military boys to stop government officials from doing their jobs, then we are creating a banana republic.

Finally, all lands in the FCT are vested in the Minister of the FCT. He has the power to allocate and cancel the allocation. If the former CNS is dissatisfied with the decision of the FCT minister, he should approach the court and not resort to self help. Obstructing FCT officials including preventing the minister from accessing the land in such a rude and unprofessional manner is unacceptable. Those soldiers should be made to face disciplinary action immediately.

You people don't understand how it works. A Military Officer is not trained to take instructions from a Governor, Senator, House of Reps member, Minister. They are trained to take instructions from Senior Ranking Military Officers and the President - who is the Chief of Armed Forces. Others do it out of respect to the political office holder. They can relate with you, but you can't order them around on relevant matters.

So, if their Senior Millitary Officer has told them "nobody" they will obey it to the very end unless a senior or more senior level officer intervenes. Wike knows this and should have stopped the embarrassment before it started.


By the way, that officer is a 3-star officer, in Military ranking, he may be higher or equivalent to Wike.

It just crossed my mind that there was some under-the pitch drainage (no, not your drainage you know!), put in. Putting in a drainage system at 5 dollars per square foot, and noting that a soccer field is 81000 square feet...that's about 430000 dollars for drainage system

I also came across maintenance and replacement costs, which I will not include here for now.

Secondly, $600,000 for this facility is within an acceptable price range. Remember, it's not your average local project. The tuff, underground drainage and other construction would have to meet international standards.
