Wanted creating a similar thread but since this is here, let me leave my contribution here rather than creating another thread to address the same thing.

Well, I never supported PMB from the beginning but when it was crystal clear that GEJ had nothing to offer Nigeria and had lost focus, I had to redefined my stand. And even now, I have no regret that I supported PMB. And I always pray that the government of PMB succeeds and restore Nigeria to what it used to be before PDP came in 1999.

In the light of the above, I wish to make some suggestions to PMB if the fight towards ending terrorism in the North East is to be won.

1. Border Checks
As far as our border remains porous, the NA would fight terrorism till eternity. Infact, the NA if this war is not ended ASAP would become frustrated and start running away or playing cards with BH. Whether in the army or not, nobody wants to die. The soldiers all want to escape the bombs and bullets of BH. Our borders need close watch and not the kind we have today. We have seen real weapons that BH have been using to fight our men and we should be asking ourselves how these weapons get into the country. Only one answer -- porous borders! If PMB must win the war against these guys, then our borders must be tighten against smugglers that bring these weapons into Nigeria for BH. Atleast the present guys there have not been doing their jobs so why not change them and bring in new people? Border here is defined as routes through which anything comes into the country which maybe through air, land or sea. If it be through air, man the airports; if through land, identify and man all routes; if through sea, man the sea ways into the country.

2. Monitoring of all flying things into Nigeria
Be it birds, witches or wizards; be it flying cars; be it copters or planes; whatever thing flying into Nigeria should be closely monitored of it contents or who flies such. Mission of such flying things must be ascertained. Every flying thing should seek for permission first before flying into Nigeria. If valid mission cannot be established, then it shouldn't even come into Nigeria. Any flying thing that forces it way into Nigeria should be seized and whoever mans it should be arrested and jailed.

3. Retiring of Service Chiefs
The Service Chiefs are the people who are supposed to brainstorm together and come up with workable ideas and strategies on how to defeat BH. But it seems they have lost focus; it seems they have used up all they thought could work and hence should be retired with immediate effect for fresh hands to take over. These fresh hands must comprise of intellectuals in the different forces. It must comprise of people who individually and even as a group can think, bring up ideas and believe their ideas can salvage the situation then put it to work. It must be people who has passion for Nigeria and pity for those guys in the frontline.

4. Research
An Operational Research should be carried out to fetch opinions from the guys in the frontline. Structured questionnaires should be developed and administered on the soldiers anonymously. Remember, the aim of survey is to gather and analyze responses. Such research qualitatively
should include but not limited to FGD, KII, II etc and quantitatively using questionnaire developed and administered electronically using Tablet. The respondents should be allowed to see his/her responses being selected and the completed button should be clicked right before the respondent. The electronic questionnaire should be designed in such a way that once completed button is clicked, it cannot be edited again. Completed questionnaires should be sent/uploaded directly into server located at Research Consultant's Office. The research would help get first class information on situations as it affects the soldiers and executing the war on terror.
Here, you can make the sample size like 500. The bigger, the better.

5. Motivation
The government of Nigeria must begin to motivate the soldiers. They must be made happy to fight. They must be made to see a reason why they have to fight. They must be charged up again just as if the war is starting new. No. 4 above would also help here based on findings derived thereof.

6. The fight on Corruption
Nigeria has been so soaked with corruption. PMB must begin to show that Nigerians voted him in to fight corruption and the time is now. I warn PMB not to allow GEJ's experience be his's too. GEJ tried acting as a President during his last days in office. This doesn't mean he never knew he was the President, he knew but was only trying to be good and humble. I tell you, history wouldn't tell good about him. Don't follow his path. Make the people happy. Make us see a true Nigeria of our dream. Even the soldiers would be happy to fight. Politicians seem to own Nigeria, you must do something about this quickly. You must act for the poor masses of Nigeria. Even the soldiers believe there's nothing they are fighting to protect except for a few in the ruling class. This mentality has to change in everybody through your actions. You must make Nigerians begin to believe in Nigeria. Fight corruption and Nigerians would be happy. Even the soldiers would be hopeful for Nigeria.

7. Engaging the DSS for Internal Security
I love these guys when it comes to intelligence gathering for security purpose. They are the real security guys for Nigeria. They do it quietly with result. Sadly, the last government to a larger extent has corrupted the service and in this case, they must be reminded of their primary responsibility to the state. I love the sanitization already going on there, it should continue till all bad eggs are purge from the service. DSS should be made to get down to work in gathering intelligence on bomb production and BH sponsors in the country.

Inadequate financial literacy: It took me over 3 years to even understand how money works. All I did was to get my salary, spend it and desperately waited till another comes and the cycle never ended. Most of us do not really understand how money works, and our educational system never even dared to give us a crash course on money. We were simply bombarded with Fourier Series, Calculus and other theorems that do not really matter in the real scheme of life. Life is totally different. Money has rules and till we actually understand them, we won't do well financially.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the cv of tha lady I talked about was in a tabular form. So imagine my frustration when her 2 pages cv scattered into 8 pages, I was meant to do a cv review, but I ended up reformatting her cv for her. She screamed in shock when I told her her cv was 8 paged. The fact that cv looks good on your PC/Phone doesn't mean it would look the same way on another PC... And no recruiter has that luxury of time to want understand your disjointed cv.

Offcourse I know what the question was, and what I put up there should narrow his decision... They both have their importance and one just can't be written off. I know ATS prefers word documents but newer models of ATS also supports PDF.... A friend of mine forwarded her cv to me for review and it came with a very bad format, I could hardly even comprehend something's in the cv. Imagine that cv being sent to recruiters, there would definitely be no reply. This won't happen with a pdf formatted cv....

My point now is if you are sure and very comfortable your Ms word formatted cv won't be scattered when sent to recruiters, go ahead with it, else use a more reliable pdf cv, better still , send your cv twice, one with pdf the other with doc.

Editing the pictures will not still make you the original owner of that picture. It can still be seen as a copied content when reviewed by a human.

For most starters, I will advice you start blogging without pictures until you are approved unless you can create the pictures yourself. Or, Instead, use the picture sniping function of the Windows to snip image sections you want to use in your blog post if you really want to use pictures.

Why is it that state Governors will not concentrate on the business on Governance in their states but will be following the President about like they are Aides of the President. I doubt if it is what is obtainable elsewhere.

This is a torture. I was very optimistic of getting this job because it is my field and I have sufficient experience on the job, But my application was abruptly decline by the ATS because I had 2:2.

Frustrated. Maybe I should start doing some white lies about my grade. What do you think people.

When you're a contract staff in a bank for 4 years do you think your four years experience would matter much considering the fact that you have 2.1 and 2.2 degree holders in the same bank who have spent four years with you as well.

Even if the bank decides to convert a few of you guys into full staff, it would still come down to qualifications and you still won't stand a chance.

Your only solution would be to go for PGD, then masters and some professional courses. That's when employers would begin to take you seriously.

Truth is most banks are beginning to realize that there's really no difference between 2.2 some 2.1 and 3rd class holders. All it takes is just a little brushing up and their personal skills would begin to manifest.

Also a 3rd class degree holder wouldn't complain much when paid peanuts because he knows that his chances of getting a better offer outside is very slim compared to a 2.1 and 2.2 degree holder. I believe that the bank is just trying to capitalize on that in order to maximize its profit.
