Food › Re: Why Is Northern Food Mostly Disliked??? by samuelson06(m): 2:29pm On Sep 07, 2025 |
Obavoh: I have entered the Calabar’s woman canteen to eat a few times. The food is good but I love the Hausa food also.
Eba & Soup= ₦1,200. ( I have forgotten the name of the soup, please remind me )
Stew Rice with meat & fish= ₦1800
Pounded yam & Egwusi = ₦2000
I noticed that to eat southern Food you need to add a lot of Protein like Meat fish or Chicken to enjoy it but it is not the same in the North Even you that's complaining, if you come to Calabar and eat from real Calabar restaurant, you'd hate foods from the North. Forget the so-called Calabar people cooking there. They don't come close to what you'd get if you were in Calabar. |

ndidibabe: Surprised to see a Nigerian say this. Nigeria played a good game yesterday. Good game my foot. That's how they've been playing good games and today we're struggling with qualifying for the world cup tournament. What exactly does good game mean to you? The super eagles practically struggles with every game. Let them rest and let the best from Africa go. We'll still enjoy the world cup without them. |

Christianity Etc › Re: From Wooden Benches To Mega Auditoriums: How Lagos Churches Changed With Time by samuelson06(m): 11:03am On Sep 07, 2025 |
WeirdAlien: The transformation, while not bad, is not a reflection of the people's spiritual growth. In fact, it seems to have achieved the opposite. You don't know what you are saying. The transformation simply means church works—at least, the people bringing their resources for the building of the church believe it works. So, let's leave it there. |

Makavelli001: I published a new book on Amazon. Then I decided to post it on a Facebook group for exposure. The suddenly I started getting friend request from the foreigners mostly female how say they are professional marketer and that they can help me boost the visibility of my book on a price.
So my question is, have anyone encountered them before? Are they scammers or real?
File photo used for illustration They are scammers. Normally, a Nigerian Facebook account is hardly visible to real White people accounts. So those so-called foreigners are actually your Nigerian brothers. |

isyourboy: No bSc or MSc yet. I just thought I can use my WAEC to start PhD in these countries Maybe you'll have to wait until Oduduwa is born. You'll be able to use Nepa bill to become anything there. Right now, I'm not sure you can do that in any country. |

isyourboy: I’m quite of old age. Going to be 39 in few months. Most people I relied on to help me stand on my feet have either refused to help me, and even at time when they do, they give so little.
My plan is to back to school. Looking at my age, I feel I’m more deserving of a PhD since I know of a guy we went to secondary school together who’s now a lecturer at UNIBEN, and he told me a PhD and some papers or articles he researcher (I don’t know what that really mean) got him the job. I love physics and I had D7 in that which is a pass
Is it possible to do this PhD in a country like Germany 🇩🇪 or Denmark 🇩🇰 or even USA 🇺🇸? Or if at all Nigeria so I can get a lecturer job too? I really have passion for teaching high level student like the ones found in UNIBEN. What area is your MSc? You never mentioned BSc or MSc in your post but went straight to PhD. I hope it's not what I'm thinking. If it is, you're just joking. Where are you going to get funding for these places you want to go sef? |

seunmsg: This one was governor for 8 eight years with little or nothing to show for it. Akpabio that came after him completely transformed Akwa Ibom state. Now, he’s also confidently talking rubbish after failing woefully as a governor. You're saying what you don't know. Normally, I don't reply sycophants, but let me just do it this one time. The Akwa Ibom you have today comes from the development plan of Attah for the state that he started working on and handed to subsequent governors. The difference between Akwa Ibom and other states in Nigeria is that there is continuity of development strides in Akwa Ibom and little can be said about other states in that regard. Attah did a lot before Akpabio came on board. Both two governors did great for the state. Stop trying to condemn the man because of what he said which is true to the letter. |

it is that simple I totally understand now. But apart from that, Rivers people also take names from Cross River. For example, you'd think Calabari in Rivers has something to do with Calabar in Cross River. |

Why not specifically say take the 4k I'm owing you from the 100k and keep 96k for yourself? You guys don't understand what debt means. You must spell it out and pay it. That's the only time that thought would leave the other person's mind. You collected the debt and you must acknowledge and pay it off. |

Shey if u wan fight for your people, are you supposed to do that from thousands of miles away? Six years from now would be the beginning of a new government in Nigeria. Hedonisco: Very close call. But I'd choose Calabar over Uyo because it has a lower cost of living. But both cities are just something else. Cleanx very good roads. Serene and chill. So many young fine and nubile babes (tertiary institutions na water), and enough hospitality/fun spots without too much madness or violence.
If you have 2 billion in slush funds and want to retire to a life of peaceful debauchery in Nigeria, where everyday is a holiday, then there's no better place than Calabar or Uyo.
Very underrated places. No be that rubbish, overpriced, overrated Lagos way those people no go take let us hear word. Cost of living in Calabar is worse than Uyo. Don't just argue it. |

Dpharisee: Nairaland can actually affect someone's mental health especially if you start the day reading comments from those dominant forces that occupy almost every thread that makes it to FP. They attack anyone who says something they don't like about the Govt and make the site almost depressing with their bigotry. Countering them leads to immediate ban from the bot. Like I tell people, once in a while take a break for one week from here for the sake of your mental health.
Regarding this topic if this young man had spent all the years he has put in trying to prove that Tinubu is his biological father to polish himself in a particular field such as Tech, Medicine, Music, business, academia, sports, politics and become successful he would have had easy access to him through intermediaries to find a way of explaining to him if he recalls having an affair with his mother, he could even get a DNA through Tinubus other children by making friends with any of them.
In reality no big man wants to claim a weather beaten son he didn't know existed who looks like he is looking for a means of survival, this is the harsh realities of life Block the miscreants and keep blocking them. That way, you can maintain your sanity. That's what I do and preach. |

blaise26abj: How do you empower a 3-16 year old ? Give them jobs or foodstuffs? Empowerment is for adults . Developmental projects are for the next generation . Anything you empower will be destroyed by a future uneducated generation . I'm not in any way saying what he's doing is wrong. All I'm saying is that there's serious hardship in the land, especially among the class of people he's building the library for. Remember, many rich kids don't use public libraries. It's the children of the middle and low class that use public libraries. Meanwhile, you can directly empower a child of 15 or 16. For others, you empower them indirectly through their parents. |
