barojana: This is where you all get it wrong! Religion is not the problem, but Islam... There are 4300 religions out there, majority of which has been modified and adapted to modern realities.
Out of the 7 major religions Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, Confusianism, Judaism - only Islam still behaves so primitive like it were still in the 1100AD.
Naturally, when religions are woven intricately into the fabric of politics, disaster would always happen. And this can be proven well by Christianity which was a highly peaceful and persecuted faith only to become a powerhouse, and then some people began to use it as a tool of oppression.
However, Christians by themselves undid the errors of polluting Christianity with politics by forcing a separation of state and the church, and Christianity went back to sanity and could once more became an outreach faith. This change was led by Christians and not outsiders!
The problem with Islam is that it has always been designed to be a state powered religion because it's proponents understand that reason and logic are the greatest threats to its existence.
Islam is the major threat this world faces at this moment. We in Africa understand it, the Asians understand it. I hope the West don't understand it too late. 10000000000 likes |

oshozondii: AS WRITTEN BY AHAMAD TIJANI BALORI - A MUSLIM.
ON THAT PROTEST AGAINST NASIR EL RUFAI @elrufai
So during the week some lawyers protested the inclusion of Governor Nasir el Rufai as one of the keynote speakers at the upcoming conference of the Nigeria Bar Association.
They premised their protest on: 1. His constant disobedience of court orders.
2. His persecution (not prosecution please) including imprisonment and possible disappearance of critics, notably Dadiyata, Dr John Danfulani, Steven Kefason, Segun Onibiyo, Gloria Ballason etc.
3. His attitude to and inaction on the massacres going on in Southern Kaduna.
4. His utterances even from before he became governor to date which are rather unpatriotic and unstatemanly to say the least. Etc
The protesters further suggested the replacement of el rufai by Professor Babagana Zulum the Executive Governor of Borno State. I supported them and actively contributed in my own little way.
No where in the petition is religion or ethnicity mentioned or even implied.
Interestly, both el rufai and Zulum are governors of states in the north. They are both Muslims and are both non lawyers who have post graduate qualifications.
The biggest deal is that both their states have serious security challenges and their citizens are suffering but this is where the joker comes in.
Governor Zulum is doing everything within his capacity to deal with the crises and help his people. He is usually in the thick of battle and has come in the line of gun fire at least twice.
You will always find him in the worst hit crises prone areas and while he has not succeeded in ending the problem, he daily dishes out hope and succor to his people.
My people, our people. NO ONE in Borno state feels left out or abandoned and even if you don't like Zulum or are not on his political side you cannot help respecting the man and admiring his style.
You feel the deep desire to want him to succeed and earnestly pray for his success. That is how leadership is and how a leader should be. I am from Borno State and very proud of Gov Zulum and daily pray for his success.
As for @elrufai his records abound and the very fact that a section of the people he is supposed to be leading feel he is against them is a harsh verdict on him and his style of governance.
Even while the protests against his participation in the NBA conference were going on, Gov el rufai had the police in his state evict a man and his family from a house in contravention of a valid court order on Tuesday.
Respect for the fundamental rights of citizens And service.
It was not about religion and ethnicity and we should not reduce it to that.
The protest against el rufai was about: Leadership Governance Statesmanship Constitutionality and the rule of law
If you are comfortable with the killings and insecurity in the North, I am not. If you don't want to shout or hold your leaders to account, please don't cover my mouth.
Bring Governor Zulum and see if he'll be rejected.
There are levels to these things.
@elrufai is a bad product. https://twitter.com/savndaniel/status/1297076511577714688?s=19[/quote]I think @the bold should be able to change the thought of those who are already associating ethno- religious sentiment to this matter .
Meanwhile, this is just the beginning for Hell Rufai, he will reap the evil he has sown fully with jara .
There shall be no peace for the wicked !!! |

The only addition which is objectionable is the power conferred on the commission to take over and manage NGOs on allegations of misconduct.

Don't change the narratives here, Muslim Christian ticket I was referring to in the post is not a constitutional matter but a matter of fairness and equity. And if El Rufai was demanding for fairness from the MBA, has he ever shown any through his numerous controversial actions and inactions ? Meanwhile, you suddenly dragged Islam into the matter that has nothing to do with it. Don't you think you should be monitored closely with this kind of mentality? I believe that is a symptom of fanactism and extremism !!! And that's the mentality of an average Muslim, he sees everything as an attempt to spite Islam. Let me ask you again, what has Islam got to do with El Rufai none invitation to the MBA |

princemeadow: How did we arrive at killing for Blasphemy? Is there no room for Taubah (repentance ) in Islam anymore? Why can't we project Rosullullah Muhammed in his true picture to this man instead of killing him?
Dont forget, we are in a country where Muslims relate with non Muslims, Christians, majorly on their sphere of lives. Let's preach Islam with peace. Giving it picture of blood thirsty killing and unforgiving nature to Islam is a dent and anti Islam
Our brothers in the north have taken the rigid, extreme part of the religion and I still do wonder why politicians hide under Islamic religion to perpetrate killings like Boko Haram and Bandits.
Please can we love the prophet more than Allah?
If not someone should show me in the Quran where Allah revealed that anybody who talks against the prophet should be sentenced to death. Meanwhile, we claim that our religion is for peace. How are we spreading peace in this manner?
Though I'm not against the Sharia law but it should be interpreted logically.
History reveals that the prophet was mocked during his days, he never ordered anybody to kill people who do that, while some muslims of nowadays also mock prophet Issa, the Jesus of christianity, why can't we say they should be sentenced to death.
With this act, we are losing the right image of Islam and making it unattractive for those who may want to approach the religion for good.
So it is about time we reorientate our approach to our application of law. If not....Hmmmm. We are indirectly championing hatred towards our religion. The bold has already reached its cresendo ( peak ). Tell me what's left in Islam that will make it any attrative to the onlookers ? Or what is peaceful about this so called religion of peace ? The harm has already been done !!! Pls ask northern muslims !!! |
