Politics › Re: Buhari May Present 2017 Budget December 1 by sanandreas(m): 8:50am On Nov 24, 2016
Fifty six years after independence, Nigeria is yet to have an organic and durable political structure and not to talk of viable economic blue print for rapid economic development despite the country's prodigious natural and intellectual endowment. Almost two years into Buhari's tenure, the country is still busy trying to apprehend elusive executives, legislative, judicial and bereaucratic thieves. Surely there must be some fundamental things we are not getting right. The budget is still based on oil and yet no plan to develop the region.

What is he running for? It will shock him because Nigerians are not ready for smiling and suffering. He should be thinking of resignation and run his cattle ranch.

The Ijaws are urhobo cousin but recently they have been aggressive. They are still our brother.

I don think we need this

We should bring what will unite than what will drift us apart

Many of us on nairaland didn't witness the civil war

Let's heal the wound

That's why anytime I ear Ipob or that criminal in kuje talk of war

I come down on him very hard
We need this because history might repeat itself. This time around Niger deltans would be fully involved.

Nigeria isn't the only country in the world in which oil is explored why is there so much spillage when global best practice is applied all round the world?

Flaring still goes on even in Texas so why do we make it appear as if there's a curse in the land that is unique?

The problem of the Niger Delta is the Niger Deltan sorry to say.
Niger delta have it's own problem but that doesn't mean the FG and multinationals doesn't have their own blame. Just recently I was going through NEITI report on crude and gas sold. We aren't talking about millions of dollars but billions of dollars. Does it reflect in the lives of these people? Today North is mining their solid minerals without FG having revenue much from it. Take a look at the PIB at the Senate house, 8yrs it have been lying dormant. Why was it not pass? The clause is because host communities would have 10% stake with the companies. The Northern senators pend it down. We know the solution to these problems , oil exploitation didn't start yesterday. Ken Saro wiwa saw these coming but the government nip him at the bud. Before violent agitation started there was peaceful agitation. The only language the government understand is wanton destruction. Why is it so? Before oil we were living fine, we had rubber plantations and oil palm. Government have not come up with a plan on how to develop these communities speedily if it even means stopping the derivation directly to governor's. The Niger delta needs development and not fighter jets nor military.

Say what u know and leave the one u know nothing about
It will be a thing of joy if North finds oil. At least our beautiful creeks would be devoid of environmental degradation. Our communities is been roasted by gas flaring and u think it won't happen in the North. The FG is known for use and dump.
Politics › Re: NNPC Engineers Mount GPS Monument As Search For Oil In The North Intensifies by sanandreas(m): 4:36pm On Nov 12, 2016
Exercise of futility and waste of scarce resources. Not all oil wells will become commercial wells. The world is developing renewables faster than we thought. What makes the president thinks agitation would not also arise in NE when neglect and degradation sets in. Continue searching and Goodluck

Not the whole muslim world but the terroristic-muslim world was cold! The Saudi, Qatar and USA political establishment r d real terrorists, no wonder the trio were cold when Trump won.
You can say that again. I personally don't like Clinton because of her role in Libya and Syria. Peace would find us when we love one another.

I'm a muslim, I hate trump.
Your hate won't stop him from eradicating Islamist terrorists. Keep hating. The Muslim world was cold when they heard the news of trump's victory. why is terrosim associated with Islam? From Boko Haram, Al Qaeda, Isis. The world can't continue to live in fear. Trump would smoke terrorists out and not the good Muslims. Copy that
