pheyikemi:
One of the disadvantages of wearing the same school uniform throughout the state, you don't even know which student belongs to which school.

You are right but the same uniform policy is meant for only the state public schools. Grade 7-9( JSS1-3) same uniform, while Grade 10-12(SS1-SS3) mostly refers to as High School wears same uniform
Besides, most of the students in These public schools lack respects and discipline.
Moreover, the School heads especially the Principal find it difficult to discipline the students because the State has placed a ban on the use of cane and other enforcement measures to discipline the students in the name of Westernization.
I served in a Government school in Ifedayo LGA and on several Occasions we( Corpers) Almost had a case because the school Management couldn't caution the students and they were acting up towards us.
I hope this our over sabi Oyibo copy copy no go kill us.

Family / Re: Why Do Most Men Die In Families And Marriages? by Santinho: 10:23am On Nov 22, 2019

Simply because we put ourselves more in harm's way.
Fighting wars, protecting the family.
Engaging in risky behaviours like trying to satisfy multiple women sexually so we can prove our sexual prowess.
Being adventurous, doing more of manual labour etc.
Unfortunately most men want to do what other men do without factoring our own individual health status. Some have weak hearts but still want to do marathon sex and drink gallons of beer.
Women have the easier part of the stick, yet still keep demanding of equality. If things are to actually be shared equally, the life span of women will be 21 years... grin

yeyeosoronga:
They die earlier because
1. Health seeking behaviour- they avoid hospitals and Drs as much as possible till it's late, unlike women who also take their children to hospital quickly. Women tend to over estimate risks while men tend to underestimate
2. They take bigger risks like drive like maniacs disobeying traffic rules and causing accidents, drink driving after 10 bottles of alcohol and still getting on the wheels ( road safety will confirm this, and the ratio of their offenders favour males)
3. they are more violent eg like stabbing bottles on themselves over woman matter, fighting with cutlass over land matter. Thanks to testosterone, I guess
4. When they are tired of life, they actually are successful with suicide and will just do it like Nike swoosh, unlike women who are more attention seeking and would just hurt themselves but not kill themselves
5. Men have a higher risk for cardiovascular diseases like hypertension, heart attacks because estrogen in women confers some protection, while good ol' testosterone increases the levels of bad cholesterol in the body
6. They take up riskier jobs like military, construction, armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism etc.
7. Etc

Those are proven stats up there, and not some beer parlour gists of men working so hard to cater for their family hence die earlier. Women do more and still live longer.

Thanks for your opinion

Is the life of a man. Born to suffer for the family and die sooner.

How do you mean. I know many homes where the Wife hustles and cater for the family. But you end up seeing the man dying first before the wife.

Family / Why Do Most Men Die In Families And Marriages? by Santinho: 4:34am On Nov 22, 2019
I have been thinking about this for sometime now and decided to create this topic to seek your opinions and contributions.
I have realised that in most marriages and families, you will discover that the husband/father die leaving the wife or wives and children in the hands of the woman or women.
This is very common among our religious places, environment, among peers and even our places of work.
I know that some women die also thereby leaving their families behind, but the ratio is very low compare to the men.
It is never the intention of any man or father to die and leave his family and responsibilities yet, we have high rate of death among men in marriages and even boyfriend/girlfriend relationships. Moreover, this is not limited to only Africans alone, because I have also discovered this among my social media friends too.

WHY THIS?

Agenda setting theory comes to mind. Nigeria lacks media literacy.

I never knew I had someone from Journalism here also. The media is or has already set the Agenda for the masses to debate. And this will continue as more will be unravel to keep the masses abreast till after the election.

The media telling the People what they want to them to talk about.

Family / Re: Must My Father Be The One To Receive My Bride Price? by Santinho: 3:36pm On Nov 11, 2019
Op We had a similar scenario in my family when my elder sister wanted to marry years ago. Although, in my case, my dad died VERY EARLY and NOT that he abandoned us.
The responsibility fell solely on my mum with little or no assistance from others. She trained us all and ensured we became successful in life.
Time for marriage , my Late father's family(Uncles, Elders etc) starting making unnesscessry demands and spreading legs claiming "our daughter " as if they contributed 1kobo to our lives. I was pissed that I almost let loose that day, but a family friend advised us to do our best because that's only want they will get from us. And that was what we did and till now, I haven't set my eyes on them. We always laugh whenever we discuss this as a family Lol.

To the topic..Allow your father to receive the bride price and IF POSSIBLE (optional though ) let him walk you down "shame go still catch am".
It wouldn't smell nice before your husband's people when things like this spring up at this early stage. My personal opinion though.
Best wishes!

No.. He wouldn't. The Catholic Church doesn't act that way. No Slander here coz he never mentioned individual names and he just said the plain truth that the masses and "our religious leaders " are scared of.

After reading through I must say you are a smart girl with a very unique heart. Your responses to his messages and when to pull the plug during d convo was a top notch. I can't really say that I have seen your type socially before.
The guy is a scammer who planned everything before coming to ur house. His contracts et al were all fake from inception.
He only got furious when he discovered both plan A and B couldn't work out and you were smarter than he thought, and he also realized that he lost 10k to you which wasn't even enough to me looking at d cost of accommodation and feeding you gave him.
Please do not stop to help people around you if you can... But not some random online goaldigger.

Op I can imagine what you are passing through. It's obvious His death still look imaginary to you and you still think more about him hence, the fear of losing those around you.
Try and accept the fact that your father is gone and he cannot come back again.
Fill your heart with good thoughts. Get busy with something. Stay around people that make you happy. Catch fun and work towards the future because you still have a lot to achieve.
Moreover, death is inevitable and man must die someday and there is nothing you can do to stop it when it's time.
Live happily.

Op I can imagine what your are passing through because I experienced a similar thing in 2014 after my ND program.
My case was a little different because I got series of calls from friends and Class representative who couldn't believe their eyes when they saw the result's posted on the department Board because I was already in Lagos doing my IT.
Firstly, you need to be strong and use all available means to pull through.
Meet your Dean, Rector other HODs and Senior Lecturers if you know any.
Also, meet any lawyer friend if you have one to serve them a paper copying the lecturer, HOD and the school management,
In addition, as others have rightly pointed out, Go to social media and tag those influencers.
Modified: It's gonna be very tough but you need to be strong and smart using every available legal means. And make sure you have all your documents with you.
Best wishes from a Victim.

In as much as I frowned at this vices, most of the girls in the pic don't look like underage.
Moreover, Parents and guardians should be careful with the number of children they give birth to and also try their best to give them proper upbringing and training to avoid things like this.
This thing has become so rampant that most girls that are into runs don't see any crime in it and are even bold to flaunt in your eyes.

Let's be real here, when your bae misbehaves. It's best you tell her. No need forming Mr Nice guy.

Also, if she gets fat remind her the kind of woman you once met and love and she will adjust her body.

Sometimes, being too nice makes you weak.

Never tell her your account balance

LASTLY, DON'T EVER TELL HER YOUR SECRETS and SHE SHOULDN'T KNOW YOU WEAKNESS
