Culled: Alcohol also can irritate the stomach, causing vomiting. With no gag reflex, a person who drinks to the point of passing out is in danger of choking on vomit, which, in turn, could lead to death by asphyxiation. Even if the drinker survives, an alcohol overdose can lead to long-lasting brain damage |
jwart:I bought labana rice last week. The rice is like imported rice. In fact i went to sahad storeshere in abuja looking for caprice gold (imported) but only naija rice brands were available (including labana). I grudgingly bought labana. ......... Fast forward....i love labana. I will buy it again. I did not see any difference between it and caprice gold. Offer me labana and caprice, i will go for labana cos first and foremost, no difference quality wise, cheaper than caprice pricewise. |
themall:It is very possible cos doctors start counting pregnancy from the 1st day of your last menstrual period (Of course a woman cannot be pregnant during her period byt they start counting from that day) |
There are always two sides to a story. Looks like she does not work. Looks like she depends on the OP for upkeep. Looks like she feels it is not enough (cos her family sends her money). I hope OP is not preventing madam from working, some men don't like it when a woman has money. Did OP give madam reason to suspect he is cheating (cos she insisted that he comes home early). I hope OP did not give madam reasons to go lamenting to her family about her hubby hence the advice. |
The OP's heading is misleading. Food prices have risen (by the quoted inflation rate). However the rate of inflation for the month (rate of rise in food prices) is less than the rate of the same month last year. So maybe last month (aug 2013), inflation rate is 8.2% and last year in the same month (aug 2012) inflation rate is 10%, u can see that the inflation rate has declined, this does not mean that food prices have not risen |

Dear VO, this is my visa rejection experience. I applied for a visa earlier this year (with my one year old son). I wanted to sight see and shop for clothes for my kids. I have a stable job, husband and 4 kids. I was a 38 year old first time US visa applicant. I had travelled to europe 2 years earlier. We did not get the visa. I still wonder why. I applied in march for a july trip. Did my intention to travel with my son hurt my chances? I was really miffed. I told myself that I would never apply for a US visa again, but you know, we are talking about America. I have been reading and hearing about it all my life, visiting America is on my Bucket list. I think I owe it to myself to try one more time. Some people say getting a US visa is like a lottery, a person may be qualified for a visa but may not get one due to several reasons eg visa quota for the week is used up, VO bad mood etc. Is this true? I intend to try again, on my own (around feb next year cos baby will be old enough to stay at home without mom for a few days). Any advice? |
Good day all. I am a mother of 4. I wish to travel with my 1 year old son only as a tourist and also to use the opportunity to buy clothes for my kids. I have a steady job, 200k per month, married and I have 1.5m in my account. Do u think the vo will think its odd that I am travelling with a 1 year old for the above activities. I intend to travel for 5 days.I have been to the UK and France. Is that a sufficient account balance? What are my chances? |
Amazing! It seems a whole lot of nairalanders are terribly poor at comprehension! Shame really. Back to the topic: this is a good policy for financial inclusion of low income earners. This will encourage low income earners to open bank accounts cos the amount of documentation required for opening an account has been seriously reduced. It will make life easier for bankers too. However, I am not totally convinced that this measure can curb money laundering. What will stop a money launderer from opening several fake low value accounts? I am open to being further enlightened sha. |
@OP deception for visa purposes should be the least of your problems. Google Cynthia Osokogu. Be carefula. |
@poster, if you observe carefully, you will notice that its your family, usually the extended one, that will pick issues wit your choice. The average nigerian woman only wishes you well. We are not like the average african american (women and men both mind you) who have a chip on their shoulder about race relations. |
If you truly love her and this inability to read and write is the only problem, i think it can be handled. You should not have sent her to ss2 directly, you should have let her begin from the begining. You can always hire a lesson teacher 4 your kids to help with homework. And you do not need your friends approval on the type of wife you marry, as long as you are happy, they will eventually respect and admire you 4 that. The only problem i see is you dying, God forbid, before she is able to gain necessary basic skills to take care of your children when you are gone. Please dont put her is ss direct again o, she should start from primary 1 on an self paced accelerated learning program. |

@omega, Yes, maybe he doesnt even want me sef, i like that common sense statement, please help me tell that to my heart that is stupidly holding on to something that shud not be. I am seriously praying for my heart to catch up with my head. |
Sorry, anna123 was created today while i was teaching someone how to create a nairaland id. Forgot to log out. |
Just sharing my sad circumstance. We separated cos we were young and foolish and we took what we shared 4 granted. Time, space and other relationships has shown up that we really had something special. |
@sexyL, nothing happened, except maybe he is now making money |
Yes i thought he would change. He is getting worse. And yes, he is welcome 2 marry (after i move out preferably). I am actually looking forward to seeing that perfect woman, he always complains about things i do. |

I think I am finally getting over this guy (who is not available by the way). I had been in love with him for over 7 years, suffering silently. I really did my best to forget but the feelings simply refused to go away. People say that time heals; in time you will forget; Father Time took his time but well, its better that he was late than never. ![]() |
me, I am very happy with the ruling. |
Hi, i feel ur pain. I have been there. What u need to do is to go and see a doctor who will prescribe an anti-anxiety medication. I personally use Inderal (a type of propranolol) an hour before I have to make a presentation. Inderal stops my voice and hands from shaking and my heart from beating forcefully in my chest; this goes a long way in helping me make the presentation. I must point out that b4 making the presentation i still feel a little nervous, however, when i start, i am calmer. I must also point out that you have to follow the doctor's prescription i.e. no over dosing. I hope this helps. |
Has any one been invited for a test. |
I hear it's gmat type math and english and some diagramatic reasoning. What position are you going for. I am waiting for an invite for Human Resources IT Analyst, i applied in november last year. Best of luck. |
