Hi eFamily, please i need some help from anyone that has the most up to date information. I and my partner got our COPR and our destination is Ontario because they sponsored us, i am pregnant and will be due in mid June by the grace of God. We want to give birth in Canada but the problem is that Ontario province has a three months waiting period to get the OHIP. My question is if anybody know how much is it to give birth in Ontario and if there is a cheaper option...
You are a pR dear ...what you need is to buy health insurance once you land in Ontario. Alternatively you can land in provinces like Alberta that give you immediate access. June is quite close- get your ticket asap.

I understand that but the form is more or less a new application. That's just my major concern
If there's no change - there's no need for this.
I however added a cover letter stating the documents I was sending and why I didn't complete the form

AOR June 26, 2017
Meds Passed July 11, 2017
Application Cancelled- July 28th 2017 (Reason UK PCC wasn't uploaded, although I applied for a UK PCC as I did a Masters in UK but PCC arrived a week after AOR, so I raised a CSE to upload the PCC, I also sent an email to support this.) Nevertheless application was cancelled as incomplete.
All application fees refunded after 3 weeks.
Fast forward - March 3rd 2018- Mail arrived there was an update on profile. Checked and I read my profile has been re-opened. There was a review of my profile and it was determined that I submitted a complete application, hence I was asked to pay new processing fees to continue my application.
2 ADRs
followed
New Medicals required- April 2nd 2018
Medicals passed -April 16th 2018.
Profile status changed to submitted April 19th 2018
PPR April 21st 2018.
Reason I'm sharing this timeline and events is to encourage anyone that is going through a similar situation...there is HOPE!
Your PPR is NEXT!!
Wow...Praise God for you..
I have a similar story
Applied with hubby as PR- score was 38..something. Hubby's career record is impeccable - mine na just God. Decided to apply as PA- CRS 443-
ITA - Nov 14
AOR - Feb 12
ADR - asking for hubby's background for the past 10 years- I weak. Sent in all travel docs, references - whosai? Second ADR 2 days later, Hah...what's a matter? Sent in docs again with detailed LOE in impeccable lingo. For where? Application cancelled first week in march.
Trying times for me and hubs- each silently blaming each other...anyway- I called CIC- to ask for an explanation- agent cross checks file- turns out hubby's online masters in UK was for a duration of more than 6 months- more like 6 years and no explanation for why there's es no PCC. Chai. Explained to agent that this was a distance learning program o/ na from naija everything dey happen. Said he'd make a note but advised to reapply. I just took the good advise and reapplied. Fast forward one week - Application got reopened. The rest is history cos everything just went like clockwork.
PPR in less than 2 weeks
COPR in less than 2 weeks after that.
Why the long tale?
To every hopeful...hang in there- do all you can and let the lord handle this. Our leaders have made us desperate to leave but God has given us Canny land as an alternative- HE will finish what HE has begun.
Thanks to all who keep this thread positive and resourceful. God bless us all.

Long post Alert. Make una no vex abeg.

We got our PPR on the 25th October 2017. Got our Visas and COPR in December 2017. I enrolled with Acces Employment Pre-Arrival services in December 2017. I attended a lot of webinars, read through my modules, did my assignments. They worked on my Nigeria CV and turn it into a Canadian styled resume. At the completion of the modules, I was assigned a Job Developer – his role was to work with me to get a job.

I arrived in Ontario on March 2nd, 2018 and when I got to my hotel and switched on my phone, I realized I had 2 mails from my job developer:
1. He wanted to confirm if I was in-transit and I should let him know once I landed.
2. He wanted to know if he should forward my resume to a TD Bank recruiter.
I replied the mails in affirmative. See this guy o!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then the following happened:
March 5th, 2018 – I got a screening assessment from TD Bank which I completed the same day
March 6th, 2018 – I got a telephone call from a TD Bank recruiter scheduling a phone interview for March 7th, 2018
March 7th, 2018 – I did my Telephone interview. It was interesting though.
March 12th, 2018 – Got an email for an In-Person interview for Thursday March 15th, 2018.
March 15th, 2018 - I went for the In-Person interview at TD Bank office at Yorkdale. It was a panel interview of 2 interviewers. One of my interviewers said “You were highly recommended by the people at Acces Employment”. The interview took like 2 hours. I was drained when I left the place.
March 19th, 2018 – Got a telephone call that I passed the interview and I should get a mail from TD Bank’s HR to know what the next step was.
March 20th, 2018 – Got a telephone call from HR that I was being offered a role, I should get my offer letter and other documents within the next 2-3 working days
March 22nd, 2018 – Got the offer letter, I accepted the offer and background checks were initiated.
March 24th, 2018 - Background check started by First Advantage. Loads of forms to run through. I was told it might take up to 1 month to conclude the background check process.
April 5th, 2018 – Got a telephone call from TD Bank to discuss my start date.

The role is an entry level position but it affords me the opportunity to start a career in this country. I intend to do my certification exams within the next 6 months.

The purpose of this post is to emphasis the importance of PRE-ARRIVAL programs. These programs are free and there for us to utilize. Please, let us try and take advantage of these programs.

Got a class to attend now. I promise to share this journey with you guys as it unfolds.
Have a great day all.
...And we're back in business. Thanks for sharing.

Long epistles on racism and what not....phew...can we go back to the timelines?

Please can somebody help with this situation.

We plan to do a soft landing in Canada so the visas do not expire and then go to America to birth our child. Will it be an issue that our baby is born after COPR and after our first landing but before our PR cards are issued? Is this something to declare?

From what I understand, there's nothing to declare if it is after you arrive Canada for the first time. And I don't think it is a sin to be PR of Canada and go to America to deliver but I have heard some different comments so please help.

Please note that the child will be born after COPR, after our first (soft) landing, after applications for our PR cards but before the PR cards are issued and before our final landing and the child will be born outside Canada.
Why oh why would you want to do this? Unless you have an ailing family member who you desperately want to witness this birth - this - in my opinion - is a mistake.
First off - American citizenship is great- but not so great when you have an option to gain Canadian citizenship for that lovely baby.
Your Canadian baby would have access to free medical care which is not the case for your American baby.
You also have to think of the double taxes this poor kid would pay once he/she turns 18.
Abeg tink this move well .

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. God bless you all. Praying for all the hopefuls .

@Babachi @Glitteringstar @justwise et al please help me out with my initial inquiry.
Babachi I see you also had the same problem of not knowing where to send your original passports to for stamping. My PPR email didn't state the address to send it to or the processing VO. Please help.

Hey people,

Just received my PPR. Thanks to almighty God and to all the info and community spirit we have here.
I have a few questions though for the veterans:

The email suggests we can send our passports via dhl or vfs and recommends dhl, but there's no forwarding address. Where am I supposed to send the docs to?
Also the Mail subject had CPCO- does this mean my processing VO is Ottawa?
We have 15 days to send these in. Please people ...

Thanks for sharing this.
Want to ask, is it only in LOE that it can be mentioned or is there any other particular place Distance Learning should be indicated?

Have a feeling I've read something about this previously but can't remember where exactly. Any one with info on this can kindly share.

Thanks.
You can attach your offer letter /and enrolment letter. It should be stated clearly in these letters.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 3 by Sasng7: 10:23am On Mar 13, 2018
Hi all,

I just wt to add a caution note to all Distance Learning Candidates. Please oh please ...do not forget to add a Letter of explanation detailing that your program is a DL course- even if this is boldly stated on your transcript. We recently had our application cancelled for not providing the PCC for studies in a foreign country. Thankfully after raising cse, calling Ottawa, and praying (...enough prayers)...our application got reopened. This might help someone. Thanks to all our contributors Naija for better if it had the community spirit we have here.
