What will wives not see? Well I was served my own pound of flesh by mil today and I stood my ground in saying NO!
Okay let me report myself.
Because my hospital is closer to my in-law's place and my mil is a midwife, 40years experience, she'll be able to monitor me during this last stage of pregnancy.
So today, she called me that her grandnephew of 14years o, I shouldn't be calling him by his name but brother xx. I thought she was joking and told her I can't that my uncles' wives call me by name.
She was furious that I dared question her authority and how could I refer to my family when brideprice was paid.
In the heat it all, dh came to visit me and he took side with me. Then mil called fil to start coming home immediately. When fil was told about everything, he said such culture is not practised again that the urgent call made him scared that something bad had happened to me who's 34weeks pregnant and have miscarriage history.
Thank God I got full support of dh and fil if not I would have involved my family with a matter that started small but escalated. I'm leaving in-law's place tomorrow. I can't condone mil's attitude towards me after the confrontation. Not in this jet age will any mil dictate to dil what she should do

Seriously?! A friend that used it bought at 21k last October. I'll advise to buy now and refrigerate it with the hospital because the price will go up every now and then

My EDD was February 10, I put to bed on the 3rd, that's a week difference. Thanks to all mamas for the prayers and good wishes.

Pls how many scan did you do and were the given dates correlate? I've done 3 scans so far, I was given 20/15/10 of March periodically. I'm due for another scan which might date 5th of March

I don't take pineapple 'cause I heard it causes early labour but I take very soft and ripe pawpaw. It helps to soften my stool

NoQualms1 Congrats. With style, you become mum twins on your own. Pls the elder one is still a baby o, take care of both for me. Don't mind side talk, na dem go talk if person no born so just give glory to God that you're fertile. Go for family planning asap as oga fit score well well

@sayoddy, I was also praying my baby should come on our anniversary date Dec 7th which was his due date, lo, but he came Nov 10th.

Our prayer is that they should come at the time designed by God.

Pls o TeamMarch, what vitamins are you using now. I've been on pregnacare throughout this pregnancy, finished two days ago and it's remaining one month for all to come to an end. When I was at antenatal, I was told not to buy another one again so the baby won't be too big as the baby is well formed and only gaining fat.

Thanks just that i'm getting fed up with the whole thing. My first bfp pregnancy was last year january and miscarried in April. If not that I just got wedded december 2014, I would have waited for at least 6months to get my system ready but started kpekusing things in May and had another bfp in June last year. Now 34weeksplus, can't wait again. Since a year, i've been on this childbearing business

TeamMarch how borri? The preparation nko? Today was my antenatal and i've dropped my hospital bag there. Really I was emotional when I saw new born babies with their mamas that we used to do antenatal. I wish i could all would be over with the pregnancy with my baby with me.

@ambient n other mamas who need essential baby things to buy:

Clothing
8 one-piece outfits or onesies (mix of short-sleeve and long-sleeve)
5 nightgowns (for use until the cord falls off)
8 one-piece sleepsuits
5 pairs of pants/ dresses
2 newborn hats
12 pairs of socks or booties, to wear with nightgowns and outfits
2 pairs of mittens, to keep baby from scratching face
3-5 (or more) outfits for dressing up

Blankets
3 large cotton blankets
8 receiving blankets (also used as burp cloths)

Breastfeeding
Lots of bibs
Burp cloths
Breast pump (manual or electric)
Milk storage containers
Nursing pillow (not essential)
Nursing bras (if buying before baby is born, buy one cup size larger than your pregnant bra size)
Breast pads (disposable or washable)
Lotion or ointment for sore nipples (lanolin-based is best)

Formula feeding
Lots of bibs
Burp cloths
8 four-ounce bottles with nipples

Then go ahead. I had mc at 12weeks. This pregnancy, I had scan at 7weeks, 12weeks and 23weeks. Waiting for the last one in 2weeks time

Thanks for d response, if it were to be vomiting and nausea I wouldn't av been worried. A day after I started d drug I jst noticed I dont feel anything again, no cramps, all body pains disappeared , I started feeling depressed. The only preggy symptoms I was having was frequent urination, loss of appetite and I feel like fainting, havent been able to sleep well again since I started d drug. I was so worried to d extent of repeating d pregnancy test 3 times to confirm all is well. In other words am 5 weeks today, can't wait to do my 1st scan in two weeks time. I think it's time we identify ourselves and appoint our class captain.

Don't rush, 7weeks scan will only show fetal pole, edd and some few info. have your scan at 12weeks when the fetus is fully formed then at 20weeks. Welcome to the forum. Have a stressfree 9months

How dey go dey go? Na now I know say I carry belle as the baby is now head down and chuking me down there that I can't sit right, bend and frequent urine no get part 2. I was at the antenatal, the midwife was telling me if I haven't felt any pain because the baby is down there. I googled the light pain I always feel and it's braxton hicks. I'm 33weeks 3days, who knows, I might port to february.

My EDD was on the 23rd of this month. I registered at a Primary health care near my area and when i was asked about my previous pregnancy if i had any, i told them i had a CS before though i lost the child 5years later. I was told bluntly that I cannot give birth at the PHC so they referred me to Alimosho General hospital Igando. I refused to go because of the horrible stories i have been hearing about government owned hospitals so i registered in a private hospital.

Fast forward to my due date, due to the high cost of CS in private hospitals, i had no option than to go back to the government hospital to register. Though the doctors at the private hospital had told me i would have another CS because my baby was breech. Registering at General hospital 3days to my EDD, the doctors confirmed the same thing.

Honestly,i was marvelled when i visited Alimosho General Hospital and saw what was there. Kudos to Fashola.

The doctors at the government hospital booked me for CS on Tuesday that's yesterday when I registered last week Thursday. Luckily for me,i started contracting last week Friday so i had to rush to the hospital.

The surgery was done on 23rd January after battling with finding fluid in my spinal cord for three hours. This was to make me awake during the surgery. The doctors had no option than to give me anaesthetic which made me sleep.

My son was born around 3am and he didn't cry. After several beatings he cried faintly. He was admitted immediately but to God be the glory,he was discharged yesterday after several tests were done on his which confirmed he was medically fit.

By today,we both will be discharged.

About the cost of CS in the hospital and the disparity,i will talk about that later.

When a birth of a new born baby is announced, no one will know the pain before the gain and think it's just rice and beans. Thank God for the safe delivery and may we all deliver like hebrew women.

Gm my senior/ junior mamas, am 6 weeks gone and ve been taking just pregnacare plus. Read somewhere that calcium is also essential for the growing baby, pls do I need to start taking milk everyday or I shud go get a calcium supplement. Thanks 4 ur response in advance!!

Upgrade to pregnacare max. It has the calcium included. Milk is also good to take except it's causing ms, you can switch to yogurt, pausterised cheese or any diary products.

No special treatment in pregnancy but rhesus D injection will be given to you immediately you give birth within 24hours. A friend that used it in October bought it at 21k and the price always increase. Will advised to buy it and ask to be refrigerated till you need it

The gynae only used hands and measured my tummy, I was disappointed cos I was expecting him to order for a scan for me. So 11weeks now not done a single scan. He told me to come back in 2weeks time. Not sure I can wait til then ooo ..I intend going to do it on my own today. Hubby says am not showing yet but my jackets are not comfortable again on me if I button them completely, am not also comfortable with skirts and jeans on my stomach again ooo. So everything is won under the stomach on my waist. I feel more comfortable on leggings than jeans now. I didn't want to start showing too early. ..dollar rate too high to start buying clothes now oo.

Wait till end of first trimester which is 13weeks to go for a scan. By then, the baby has all the organs and will be measured to give accurate result. So I think that 2weeks the doc asked you to come back is viable and you can request for a scan

Yeah pls sabi mamas in the house, there's a matter arising from a friend of mine.
She had a baby in August and coincidentally got pregnant again but unfortunately went to abort it on Wednesday, Jan 13.
Monday, Jan 18, her dh accidentally released in her and she's scared of another pregnancy. Though she intends to do family planning next month but wants to know if the last dtd might result to pregnancy.

Since it's recommended, it's not too much o. I had two at 1st trimester, one at 7weeks to be sure it implanted in the uterine and at 12weeks to know if it still had heartbeat. Don't blame od me, I had missed abortion at 12weeks because the baby's heartbeat stopped at 8weeks in previous pregnancy. Imagine I wasted a whole 1st trimester after all the severe ms and had to restart another missionary journey but to the glory of God
