Good morning people,
Congratulations to all PPR recipients, one day one day it will be our turn.

Please I want to ask: is there anyone here who successfully applied without spouse accompanying but with dependent children. Will it work against the applicant in anyway, especially if the applicant is a woman.

I would appreciate responses from everyone including friends' or relatives' experiences

1. Yes

Hephgirl:
my advice
1. Do his pr as u r doing urs... Cos it's harder later... Dey always change their minds.. What's d worse that can happen?
Inshort with his pr he can visit as many times as possible. Amd when he changes his mind there won't b an issue.
4. Is fine in my opinion
Following from your response to the question,
1.What happens if the PR expires the spouse decides not to renew it, will he or she be able to get TRV to travel to Canada?

Also, I know people who got PR, but because they have good jobs here in Nigeria, they did not go but sent their families. However, they were slammed huge Tax Bills.

2.Can someone here help to explain the implication of Tax on a spouse who really doesn't want to live in Canada but got PR?

3.Also, if the spouse is unaccompanying, will he/she be able to get a Temporary Visa whenever he/she wants to visit?

Thanks for your responses

I would appreciate your responses

Hello fam, I have a question Pls.
I am the PA & hubby isn't going with me and kids but I understand that he will do medicals and police report.
Pls must he get police report for all the countries he has visited on business trips since he was 18 Ursa old despite the fact that he is non-accompany?
Please in addition to the above question, I heard the non-accompanying spouse will need to submit his/her passport as well. Will the person be issued a Temporary Visa?

Well.. I would say that having a Canadian certificate should give one more advantage.
The way I see it is what if the MRA with ACCA won't last forever? People have confirmed that the CPA exams isn't child's play..i don't want to write it in future cos am trying to save cost today. If you plan to Soft land then you don't need to convert yet.

If you can afford it maybe you should give it a shot but there are accountants without CPA who get hired. I have heard of ACCA and ICAN guys who have gotten fantastic offers. By God's Grace we won't struggle to settle down whether we convert or not.

I see the CPA money as an investment into my future. My future employer should be able to pay for my subscription going forward. I haven't converted yet but taking baby steps and trusting God for funds.
Thanks a lot for your perspective. The challenge is that if I return to Nigeria in future, the CPA may not be relevant. The annual membership due of 800 CAD will be a lot to pay from Nigeria. But if I remain there, then it will be worth the while.

Thanks all the same

I don't think it's right to say CPA needs WES. They require that your transcript sent directly by the institution and they also accept WES ICAP not the regular ECA as an alternative to sending your transcript.

They reserve the right to ask for further info is they think it's necessary. People have successfully transferred to CPA without WES so it's not a cast in stone.

My point is using WES as an accountant can save you the stress of asking your school for transcript again for CPA sake..one can just tell WES to upgrade to ICAP but it doesn't mean that CPA requires WES before you can transfer to membership.
Hi Bimpsy99, seems you are an accountant and knows quite a bit about CPA. I would like to find out if having a CPA can "significantly" improve one's chances of getting an accounting/finance job in Canada as against just with the ACCA. Reason, is because I don't want to commit to the membership and be tied to an 800 CAD annually if I won't end up using to practice.

Also, do I need Passport information to fill my EE profile?

Please oh, anyone who can, should be answer me oh.

Thanks

Hello people,

I was trying to pay for my WES evaluation today, when I mistakenly clicked on "Money Order", I actually thought I will get to see another page open with further instruction. Rather, what I got was a Reference number and confirmation of my application.

I intend paying with my Naira card, what do I do now, seeing that they will probably be expecting the money through that means.

Kindly help me respond urgently. I appreciate you all

Thanks @einsteino.

You know, I don't want to make any mistake

einsteino:
hehe you need confirmation from Bimpsy99 ? a word of her's is enough for the wise, she is speaking from experience not hearsay. be like u just wan donate 84 CAD to WES. if you still do not feel comfortable, use a PO. Box, an address that always receives its mail, or approach a staff at a post office and ask them to help you keep the mail and inform you when it arrives (you would have to thnk them specially, u kno what i mean). it is much cheaper than courier.

To reaffirm, all the details you would need for EE would be on the emailed copy of your ECA. it would be suffficient.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 2 by Scard: 7:02am On Oct 04, 2017
Hello Bimpsy99 and everyone else, please kindly confirm that the emailed report is sufficient for creating the EE profile?

Thank YOU

Bimpsy99:
WES evaluates ACCA membership as 4 year Bsc giving you two or more certificates if you have another degree or diploma. I did standard delivery for over 9 months still waiting for the ECA report. Some people get it easily some don't. The choice is yours. grin. Whichever way the soft copy is sufficient for this process.

Good evening all, I am here again oh.

Please, how long does it take WES to deliver report using standard method? Will it delay so much or I should kukuma go and cough out $85 for courier?

How do I pay for WES, can my regular Nigerian cards be used?

Thanks everyone.

PS; With all my permutations, it seems the highest I can score is 425, any help on what else to do or I should just hope that one day the score will come down to where I am before my age reduces it further.

Will my ACCA-CPA-CGA, conversionn help me in anyway

Thanks @Blackbuddy. It is very clear

Blackbuddy:
Yes as a permanent resident you must DECLARE your income, wether earned in Canada or abroad. However, it is not for the purpose of taxing you but to measure how much you are eligible for social insurance. That is why everybody gets a SIN, it is this unique ID that is tied to you to know how much you earn, how much you get as subsidy for child care, how much is spent on you for public health care, if you receive grants etc. All citizens and PRs must file taxes yearly wether you are in Canada or not and you can indicate where you earned your income. Canada does not currently tax income earned abroad, hope it's clear now.

1. Not aware of any issues regarding assessment of UNIBEN degrees. Quite a number of people here have done that successfully with WES.

2. Seems I have read that income earned by PRs abroad are subject to some of taxation but I am not sure. Maybe @Blackbuddy @Gymme can help us here.
Thanks everyone for your kind answers, I truly appreciate

What I wanted to know is if the person is profiled as ACCOMPANYING, gets the PR, but returns to Nigeria to work FULL TIME, will be person be subject to Filing of Tax Returns in Canada?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 2 by Scard: 9:50am On Oct 02, 2017
Good morning everyone,
Please I have few questions to ask.

1) Has anyone evaluated a UNIBEN degree with WES here? How did it go? I already collected a Transcript from the school before, so that angle should not be much of a problem.

2) What is the Tax implication for an accompanying spouse who does not intend to live in Canada, but remain in Nigeria working? Will he or she be liable to paying Tax to the Canadian government from his/her earning from Nigeria?

I would appreciate your kind responses.

Well done to all those keeping this thread alive
