lovewins:Yeah, to me the Pool of 28 players sef in even too much for the AWCON, 23 should have been better and more competitive!! 3 goalies 7 Defenders 6 Midfielders 7 Forwards. |
isan:Maybe we're talking about different Ajibade and Kanu here... You should be saying Ajibade has improved drastically or should I say the most improved Superfalcons player from 2018 till date.. Chiamaka Nnadozie is another |
isan:Which quality are you talking about, Facilities, the pay or the Players?? |
lovewins:Let's see how it goes, Rita Akarekor 21yrs is also a good goalkeeper have been in the National Team set up for some time to and fro from U20 to the Superfalcons.. Was at the 2016 AWCON in Cameroon and 2018 U20 FIFA Women's World Cup as the 3rd choice goalie respectively.. She had an excellent game yesterday during the Super6 game.
|
isan:Anyway most of these players we're talking about are going to be coming from the Bench and they might even get up to 30 minutes per game sef, except injury cases upfront Asisat Oshoala, Ifeoma Onumonu, Uchenna Kanu, Fransisca Ordega will definitely battle for the 3 starting spot upfront, Tony Payne is also there upfront if the need arises.. Oparanozie, Ikechukwu, Maclean's, Ihezuo, Imo should be talking about making the List and coming from the bench.. Say Esther Okoronkwo da before men non of them for probably see game time.. Between Asisat Oshoala and Ifeoma Onumonu one of them should be playing 90minutes of not the two of them.. |
isan:Which Farmers League?? So the Polish Women League is a farmers league while the Belarusian, ISRAEL league are far better ahbi? Fear God ooo Please do you even make time to watch their games or you're just speaking from your personal insight on the Women's game.. I know too well that have been sharing different league games here occasionally but it seems you guys aren't that interested !! |
isan:Maclean's Chinonyerem isn't my Favorite please, I make post basically about all of them, there's no favouritism from me here. I even go as far as bringing in news concerning Women Football Worldwide! |
isan:Yes I said so... Kanu was far better than Rasheedat Ajibade a few Seasons ago. You can't compare both then. Is it because Ajibade is now playing up to the billing.. Okay tell me between the two of them who was a far better player from 2018 to 2020.. Ajibade has drastically improved and both ain't playing same position for the Superfalcons, one is a forward while the other is a Midfielder (Central/Attacking Midfield) for the Superfalcon. Isan calm down, anyway thank God you said last few seasons to show that I'm not even lying and as it stands both of them are doing well... |
JohnBullMySon:Yes, but she grew up overthere! |
Bigzigg:I did gave a hint, You didn't decode it then... I will certainly talk about it again when the need arises but this time around I will be direct.. |
Ijeoma Esther Okoronkwo Position: FW Height; 173cm (5. ![]() Born; March 27, 1997 (Age: 25yrs) in Umuahia, Nigeria. National Team; Nigeria Club: AS Saint-Étienne, France Season; 2021-2022 Match Played; 18 Minutes; 1303 Goals; 4 Assist; 1

The Photo she posted saying the end of the season for her over a month ago..!!
|
Among all the listed Strikers in the AWCON Provisional List, non of them is as technically gifted as she is.. She's currently the most Skillful striker we have but injury just spoilt everything.. Randy Waldrum will definitely miss her..!
|
AkinDS:I'm still trying to get over Esther Okoronkwo injury, I wish it never happened. After her excellent performance during the qualifying game against CIV, Scoring 1 and giving 1 assist, a very tactical and technically decent Player.. Our Bench would have been so solid at the AWCON because it would have been an almost like to Substitution..

In Pursuit of excellence : The crave for League Crown, continental Slot sweeps off Wemimo Matthew from Edo Queens The management of Edo Queens Football Club has announced the sack of handler, Wemimo Olanrewaju Mathew following the abysmal performance of the team so far in the ongoing Nigeria Women Football League super Six, in Benin. Edo Queens were wasteful in their first match against neighbouring Delta Queens and were poor in their second match against Nasarawa Amazons who defeated the wasteful side by a lone goal which has dented their ambition of winning the title. Addressing the press immediately after the game, Chairman Edo State Sports Commission, Yusuf Alli pronounced the sack. “From my understanding and my findings, I think the coach is not capable, at this point, we have to relief her of her appointment”. “We have to sack the coach and let the assistant take over from now on, when the tournament is over we will know what to do with Edo Queens, but for now, the coach is sacked”. The assistant coach, John Niyi will take over the remaining games of the team in the tournament.

isan:A Big no for me, Oparanozie and Maclean's are 100% Similar Players just that Oparanozie is more experience while right now Maclean's is younger, quicker and more inform. Monday Gift can't bench Ihezuo from the Left. Or is it Uchenna Kanu you want her to bench? Even with Ordega not really at her usual level right now, Monday doesn't come close.! |
isan:Monday Gift is over hyped.. she hasn't lived up to the billing yet. Look here, Monday Gift and Maclean's Chinonyerem are different kind of player. One is a forward who gives a lot of options upfront like Playing every position upfront.. which is the only advantage Monday Gift has over Maclean's.. While Maclean's is a natural 9 just like Desire Oparanozie, Abby Wambach, Birgit Prinz and Ada Hegerberg whose major role is Scoring the goals, running into space and pressing the opposition defense couple with her Physical attributes with the Midfielders and other forwards doing the most jobs of creating for her.. Maclean's is a better finisher than Monday anyday anytime On Paper right now Asisat Oshoala and Ifeoma Onumonu are already starters... Uchenna Kanu are Fransisca Ordega are the best possible option for the last 3rd starting spot.. Bench, Vivian Ikechukwu is ahead of her already, Chinwendu Ihezuo is more experience than her and Plays from the Left wing which Monday Gift like playing too. Don't think she will be able to beat Ihezuo to that Left spot. Anam Imo is currently inform and Play every position upfront but currently playing no.9 for Pitea IF, Sweden |
isan:I know say you da find my trouble, anyway Sha nor go overcome this trouble, I must talk.... Hahahaha |
•• Defending champions Rivers Angels failed to win in their second game at the #NWFLPremiershipSuper6 following a goalless draw with Delta Queens at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.

Let's me be sharing with you guys.... By the way can Monday Gift bench any of the invited forward playing same position with her?
|
It's a pity that we won't get to watch Esther Okoronkwo play at the AWCON... I'm still trying to know how long she's going to be out because she has been out for over 4 weeks now..

My Little Observation on Coach Randy Waldrum Midfield Set up!! The key area of the pitch is the centre. If you can control the centre of the pitch this will most likely result in you controlling the game. Without Ngozi Okobi in the provisional list for the AWCON it's now very certain that either Rasheedat Ajibade or Tony Payne will take up the Midfield role. If you observe very well you would notice that Coach Randy Waldrum love's playing a Double Pivot Midfield. E.g during the Turkish Cup last year, against the Ivorians during the AWCON qualifying game, against Canada and so on A double pivot is the deployment of two defensive midfielders, who may be used to protect the defence in a deep block, to prevent the opposition space for counter-attacks, to keep possession by overloading in the first phase, the reasons are almost endless, the double pivot can be very useful at times. The standard duties of a double pivot are as follows; to operate in the space between the defence and the attacking midfielders, to initiate attacks by distributing the ball in an intelligent fashion, to be key players in circulation and to prevent dangerous opposition attacks, being disciplined in positioning and limiting space in between the lines. The double pivot is often labelled as a clear indicator of a team that plays ‘boring’ football. Without Okobi in mind how will the Superfalcons line up in Midfield?? Let's take the friendly game against Canada as a case Study.. In Midfield Coach Randy Waldrum Played, Rita Chikwelu, Christy Ucheibe and Rasheedat Ajibade. With Chikwelu been the Pivot Midfielder who barely moves out of Position, and Christy Ucheibe doing the pressing Box-to-Box Midfielder leaving room for Ajibade to enjoy herself in the attacking Midfield position.. With the availability of Halimatu Ayinde who have started having game time at Eskilstuna United there's surely going to be a swap in the Midfield. However, if and when Chikwelu plays in a double pivot, her poor defensive attributes can be masked by a more defensive minded midfielder; the other midfield player can do most of Chikwelu’ defensive duties allowing Chikwelu to focus on dictating play from deep positions without the worry of losing the ball and putting her team under pressure, as she has a supporting midfielder alongside her which is exactly what happened against the Canadian side in the last Friendly game. If i where to be Coach Randy Waldrum there wouldn't be any need for me to start up Rita Chikwelu when I already have Regina Otu, Halimatu Ayinde and Amanda Mbadi in the Squad, he should also note that playing a double pivotal Midfield requires a lot of running which Rita Chikwelu can not offer as age is no longer on her side. Who to pay in Midfield?? With the way things are going, it shows that Halimatu Ayinde is fit already. It would be okay to move Christy Ucheibe to Chikwelu Position as the main defensive midfielder, giving Halimatu Ayinde the space to operate in her usual Box-to-Box way just like Christy Ucheibe did against Canada with Ajibade enjoying herself behind the Strikers.. Even bench there's also Regina Otu who can as well do the Job of Ucheibe or Ayinde. Chikwelu as we all know is a veteran in the game, a 5 to 10 minutes appearance in a game won't be a bad idea giving the fact that we have more younger, hungrier and faster midfielders in the team..

Bigzigg:I gave a hint about George issue some time ago but I didn't say it directly though. Also gave hint on the invitation of the likes of Chinwendu Ihezuo, Anam Imo Maclean's Chinonyerem etc Chikwelu over Okobi ( Me I nor get wetin i go talk oo cause person person don da vex for me already oo) Have asked Karl already to help me confirm if Onome Ebi really signed for En Avant Guingamp.. still waiting for his response! |
mostob:I think the issue is from the Coaching Crews not from Patty side... Injury kick out Esther Okoronkwo... Shit |

Superfalcons AWCON Provisional Squad List is Out.... A notable Midfielder Missing here... |
isan:Monday Gift went there on loan since her club didn't qualify for the Super6... Why Joy Bokiri returned from Europe after her contract with AIK of Sweden came to an end... River Angles, Bayelsa Queens, Edo Queens etc are the highest paying Nigeria women football Clubside so they're good enough to get any of the Players... This Clubs pays at least $400 and above as monthly wages, they also pay bonuses and other little tokens, one of the reasons they tends to sign the big Players around Nigeria.. Clubs like Nasarawa Amazon's, Delta Queens ain't doing bad too |

AkinDS:Among the 3 Players I listed, Michelle Alozie, Patricia George and Nicole Payne. Tony is a very quick player but only quicker than Alozie i think, her younger sister and Patty are way faster than her |
