I thought he was going to build on what Randy left behind and make the team transition faster but No he’s kicking out our major Strengths in midfield.

Nigeria have been playing fine and using their pace and power on the flanks as one of their major Strengths.. Now we can’t even see any of those flairs..

I am really worried about this team's trajectory. The coach Madugu is clueless. Even if we qualify for the world cup i worry what will happen if we play top teams like Spain, USA, England etc.

They call for us to support our own. Na! We are not built like that. When it comes to football we support and call for quality. They should know that Madugu was put in place by the NFF not in charge.

Some persons here frame it to appear as though we that are not in support of local coaches feel inferior to oyibo just so we can take a back seat. But nothing would change. I will in fact double down on it. We prefer a foreign coach and Waldrum is our best bet in terms of the low pay NFF can offer.

We must stop supporting coaches because they are our own rather, support merit. .
Yes, we know the argument already Waldrum didn't win the WAFCON but Madugu did hence he is better. Let's apply same logic, shall we? Peisero took the Super Eagles to the final but the current coach didn't get to the final and didn't qualify us for the World Cup yet Nigerians still want him and have been singing his praises.

So what we are looking at is the workings that have brought steady progress, cohesion and all to the team, I will boldly say it that the last WAFCON was 75% the Ladies effort because there wasn’t a good enough Coaching input..

Simply put, Madugu will be abysmal at the World Cup. If a team is well Coached it will show in their style of play even if they lose.

Madugu has this self-destruct thing in him. That's how he benched Echegini in the last WAFCON final for Abiodun and it almost cost us.

Football is a youth sports, and ageing impacts negatively on the ability of ladies more than men. We've seen it with Rita Chikelu, Onome Ebi and we're currently seeing it with Asisat Oshaola, Ngozi Okobi, Osinachi Ohale and Francesca Ordega who are past their best. Absolutely no reason for Okobi to have been invited back in the first place.

They leaked their withdrawal from hosting the WAFCON thinking it'd put CAF in a tight spot but when they heard SA was ready to step in, they backtracked that they had not withdrawn officially.

Another reason they didn't withdraw is because this AFCON will serve as the qualifiers for the world cup, and they stand a better chance of qualifying as host.

Motsepe too feels beholden to them and that's the reason he didn't strip them of the hosting rights.

If na another country they pull this Morocco stunts, and SA dey standby, hin for don strip them since.

Anyhow sha, make CAF and Morocco get their acts together. The WAFCON must hold this year.

Well, Well.
A rag-tag Cameroonian team just beat our SF 1-0, scoring in the 89th minute.
Glory Ogbonna (who knows why she was brought back into the team after her wilderness) was out injured and our wise man of a coach decided to continue the game with 10 players, enabling the Rag-tag Cameroonians to score.

There were a lot of players that had no business playing, including Okobi (#13, who was poor all game long), Glory Ogbonna (#4, whose left back position was a constant point of attack because she clearly was the weakest link in defense), and Onyenezide (#8, who came in as a sub and was nothing short of being a passenger on the field).

I feel bad for Erharbor, who was on track to have a clean sheet, save for the very poor game management on the part of Madugu (playing 1 woman down and was clueless about utilizing his bench).

Notable pluses:
Comfort Erharbor (#1) - after a nervous start, looked assured and played the part. For someone playing her first international match, very pleased with her performance.
Don't know her name yet (#21) - still trying to find out who the left footed, red boned midfielder who came in later on in the second half is. She fit in like a glove and played with extreme confidence in the midfield. Even though she was a sub, she definitely was miles better than Okobi, who constantly turned the ball over and was a weak link in the midfield.

Mbachu had more impact in terms of play, goals and assists than some names above her there..!

Kanu remains the most complete SuperFalcons Striker but again she hasn’t really lived up to the standard expected as she was full of talent right from U17– U20 before going to college..

Just returned from a knock but again she should have been available for selection if truly Madugu wanted to have her in the squad..

Shukurat Oladipo, CB... Six 90mins cleansheets now for Roma at the back from 11 Serie A games (10 starts). She just finished another 90mins vs Inter Milan with another solid defensive showing, a win (1-0) and cleansheet.

At 21, still young but has solid experience under her belt. She is quality yet she may have to bid her time again on the bench coz of thr Ohale-Demehin partnership.
But it must be asked... is she not good enough to start even now?


She was at the last Wafcon and played one full 90 vs Algeria and only 1min+ in the final vs Maroc. She has grown since then and is a mainstay in that Roma Backline and topping Serie A feminile.

Osinachi Ohale isn’t the Ohale we used to know as her ability have dropped down a bit. Just that her experience is still very much needed.

For Shukurat to break it she have to put in a 💯 top notch performance and Coach still need to be ready to take the risk of Benching Ohale.
