The last time okobi had great performance for super falcons was in 2015 against Sweden she has been a shadow of herself since that time and ajibade is the closest to her for the no10 role chinaza is quite slow or maybe i need to watch her more
I think you should watch Chinaza Uchendu play first before anymore comments on that..

Yes Okobi isn't the Okobi she used to be from 2014/16

from 2017 season till date we haven't seen that Superb performance from her but she's still the most dangerous weapon in that Midfield..

A great assist and good vision she confident in her ability to pull off that assist ..she also won woman of the match on Saturday overall this season rasheedat has been superb i think she's okobi direct replacement for that attacking midfielder role
Our young Strikers are currently doing well at their Clubside, soonest they will be able to displace the Senior Strikers for a starting place in the Superfalcons starting 11...

Kanu and Ajibade for Example

if you watch the Superfalcons game's closely from 2018 till now you will always notice that Ajibade isn't a good replacement for Okobi in the Midfield, even though okobi isn't playing too well sometimes she still deliver those Defence splitting passes and has her own way of getting past her marker, the moment you bring in Ajibade for her the Midfield collapse totally..

Someone prove me wrong please..

These two players are typically different in position of play and style of play...

Okobi-Oke is a natural Attacking Midfielder who enjoys playing behind the Strikers most times but can also play as a Wing back in a 3-4-3 formation which have seen her play for her Clubside this season either left or right with Ayinde always by herside in the Midfield to cover up which allows her to be more attacking minded and either cut in or deliver crosses from the wing.

Her typical replacement in that Superfalcons Midfield is Chinaza Uchendu who's also a natural Attacking Midfielder.. if you watch Chinaza from her U20 days till date you will know.

Ajibade is a Striker that enjoy playing from either of the Flank but can also play as a number 9 and a make shift 10

Linköpings FC's Ebere Orji is the player of the month in OBOS Damallsvenskan in July.

The striker, who has scored five goals and one assist so far, made the biggest impression on the jury, which consists of the league's captains, representatives from the media and partners.

OBOS Damallsvenskan finally started late at the end of June and a tight game schedule meant that six rounds were played during July. A player who stood out during the first rounds was Linköping FC's attacking star Ebere Orji who with five goals and an assist greatly contributed to Linköping being involved and fighting for the top places in the table. When it came time to nominate the Player of the Month, a prize awarded by Elitfotboll Dam's main sponsor Svenska Spel, Ebere was the jury's favorite. - It came as a shock to me. I am happy to win the award and I am very happy for my own sake and for the team's sake, says Ebere who says that both her own and the team's start to the season has been good. - For me, it is a privilege to score goals. It's good for me and it's good for LFC.

The coach saw a match player

However, one who is not surprised that Ebere Orji receives the award is her coach Olof Unogård, who already early in the season saw that Ebere could develop into something really good. - She came in in February from Umeå and then we did not have time to play so much before everything was canceled, but we noticed in the training matches we still had to play that she rose worryingly. We understood early on that she is a match player, because there were a few more snaps in comparison with the training. And when we started playing the Allsvenskan, there were a few more levels, so it was fantastic fun to see, says Olof who takes the opportunity to pay tribute to the person Ebere. - Off the field, she is a fantastic person and a very popular teammate. She is not the one who sounds and talks the most, but is wise and confident and works hard to constantly get better and learn the way we play. It's really fun that it went so well and I wish her all the success. Ebere Orji has, just like the team, high goals. She wants to be part of the fight for the medals and describes that she herself takes it step by step during the season. - I hope to do what I can to help the team end up at the top of the table.

SEK 10,000 to the highlight of the year

The winner of the Player of the Month award in OBOS Damallsvenskan is awarded SEK 10,000 by Svenska Spel to donate to one of the club's CSR projects. Ebere Orji has chosen the project LFC Night. Two evenings a year, about 750 girls are trained at Linköping Arena by the players in LFC, while the team leaders receive an inspiring education from Olof Unogård or his coaching colleagues. The project is part of LFC's sponsor and role model project which has resulted in more girls' teams and increased the number of players in Linköping by over 30 percent since the start in 2014. - It is a wonderful evening we have where we invite girls from all over Östergötland, says Olof Unogård and describes the evenings as the highlights of the year. - The arena is filled to the brim with young, wonderful football players who, like us, really think that this is the highlight of the year. Nicklas Biverståhl is the sponsorship manager at Svenska Spel. He is very happy that Ebere Orji has chosen to donate money to such an exciting and appreciated project as LFC Night. - As a young football-playing girl, getting the chance to be trained by her idols must be an incredible experience and it is completely in line with what we at Svenska Spel strive for. Player and leadership development from an early age is very important for us to continue to have a strong league and a strong national team. And who is not better to share tips on how to reach the top than those who are already there? That is what makes a project like LFC Night so exciting, he says and congratulates Ebere Orji on a great start to the season and on a well-deserved award.

That remind me. We are getting short of defenders and it is going unnoticed.
We currently have full back/wing backs that are Capable of replacing the current ones but as for the Center Back.. Onome Ebi 37yrs who's already at the verge of retirement I haven't seen any capable...

In Picture Mariam Ibrahim 25yrs old Center Back has played the no.5 position on several occasions when Onome Ebi isn't available...

She has that Big frame of a Center Back, good reading of the game, tall and a very Physical Defender but Might well be outpaced by an intelligent and Pacy attacker... Eg I don't think she can match Asisat Oshoala in terms of Pace...

Without doubt you are right, Omagbemi stands out above any other ex player, even amongst most foreigners apart from those that may have reached latter stages in world cup or olympics. But as mentioned before I don’t even think NFF are considering her for head coach, they “blame” her for the protest carried out by the falcons few years ago. They can’t even dare suggest for her to be assistant to anyone, will be such an insult for someone soo successful as a former falcons Head coach

The other ex internationals you have mentioned are also strong contenders to be part of the set up. Akide may not be looked at as head coach cause she has no national team experience and I am not sure if she has an A License or not.
Without doubt she will be more than capable of being an assistant.

What you have said about Chiejine is interesting, didnt know she has A license and instructs on courses.

Will be interesting to actually see who NFF appoint as head and assistants. Lets hope the plans Pinnick has talked about for Falcons is not just publicity stunt
You're very correct, I don't think Florence Omagbemi would love to take a step back to becoming an Assistant coach after heading the team years past.. she was also the Assistant Coach to Edwin Okon during 2011/2012 U20 set that Finnished 4th at the U20 FIFA Women's World Cup in Japan..

Most of the Current player's Played Under her then, I believe she knows them too well more than the rest.. Onome Ebi and Faith Ikidi are the only player's to have played with her during her Active playing days and that was towards her retirement time 2003/2004.

If only we get correct coaching crews. This girl is capable of carrying a whole team for a whole tournament. Just arrange better midfielders around her.
We even have the Midfielders capable of doing the Job, Ngozi Okobi is the Team Kevin De Bruyne delivering killer passes and Assist till date, all we really need is a good Coach, Quality Friendly games and NFF Full time Support..

I think you are right to some extent. I think a foreigner will be head coach and ex falcons players such as Akinde will be part of the assistants. I don’t think Omagbemi will even be in the picture due to past issues with the current NFF board, even though she should
Florence Omagbemi is arguably the Fittest for the position of the Superfalcons Head Coach or First Assistant among the Ex-internationals..

Her performance as head Coach wasn't Bad at all, she played a better and More Attacking Football during the 2016 AWCON in Cameroon than Thomas Dennerby in 2018 AWCON.. She wasn't giving the time to grow with the team.. Her Players Selection was also very Okay..

All she needed then was total Support in all aspects of the game from the Federation but they chose to relieve her from the Position...

Mercy Akide who's Currently the Coach of Reagents University in USA is also another who i think will do well if given the chance..

Ann Chiejine is also a good Coach with CAF Coaching A license, she's also CAF Coach Instructor alongside Coach Ngozi Uche Eucharia

Maureen Mmadu is also another Option...

I will prefer to see Perpetual Nkwocha start off from the U17 side...

The Defence is all about replacing the older ones with the rightful young one's...
Onome Ebi 37yrs
Faith Ikidi 33yrs
Osinachi Ohale 27yrs.. She's the Fastest among them
Ngozi Ebere 28yrs
Josephine Chukwunonye 27yrs

The Right Back is very much stocked up
Ugo Njoku
Chidinma Okeke
Mary Ologbosere are all Capable of doing a good job in that Position..

At Left Back
We have Patricia George 23yrs who's another wonderful Player, Fast and Skillful Player who can also play as a Left/Right Back, Wing Back, Winger
She shares same similarities with the likes of Faith Ikidi, Crystal Dunn of USA.

I believe with the rightful player's the Superfalcons will be very tough to beat..

She is Currently with Club SC Sand of Germany

Ngozi Okobi 26yrs
Halimatu Ayinde 25yrs

Chinaza Uchendu 23yrs
Christy Ucheibe 19yrs

Ngozi Okobi-Oke and Chinaza Uchendu are Attacking Midfielders.

Christy Ucheibe 19yrs is typically another Rita Chikwelu, very strong Defensive Midfielder a versatile player can play anywhere in the Midfield as a DM, CM, AM.. she's currently Playing for Benfica FC in Portugal

I'm actually expecting this Combo soon
Christy Ucheibe --- DM
Halimatu Ayinde --- CM
Ngozi Okobi -- AM

Uchenna Kanu has huge potential' - Linkopings coach Olof Unogard

The Swedish manager is delighted to have the Nigerian striker and feels she has everything in her to excel in Damallsvenskan

Linkopings head coach Olof Unogard is happy with Uchenna Kanu's fine start after she opened her maiden Swedish Damallsvenskan goal account with the winner against Djurgardens.

Kanu joined the Swedish outfit from Spanish Primera Iberdrola side Sevilla this summer following the expiration of her six-month contract.

The 23-year-old is gradually establishing herself in Sweden, having featured in three matches, scoring once and providing an assist in two starts for Unogard's team this season.

Having broken her Damallsvenskan duck last Saturday, the manager believes the Nigerian striker has huge potential in her while encouraging her not to rest on her oars.

"Everyone can see that she has huge potential," Unogard told Goal.

"She still has to improve in defending but is a great asset for us offensively. Uchenna is a very humble person.

"So I don’t need to tell her anything other than to keep improving and learning, and prepare well for a long and a competitive season."

The triumph over Durjgardens made it three wins out of three for Unogard's team as they go top of the Damallsvenskan log.

With his side opening a two-point gap on top of the table, the 31-year-old tactician attributed the progress to the efforts of the players and coaching crew as he focuses on stunning 2018 champions Pitea.

"It feels great, of course. I’m very happy for the players and the staff. They truly deserve it.

"We have been meticulous in choosing the players for this years’ squad. Great players but also great persons, that work well together.

"Against Pitea, it will be a tough away game for us but we are prepared and ready to go again!"

Unogard is eager to guide Linkopings to domestic glory this season and claim a Champions League berth but will count on Kanu to maintain their fine start at Faith Micheal's Pitea on Wednesday. I see her as the Female Ronaldo.

GERMAN BUNDELIGA club SC Sand signs American Born Nigeria Patricia George

The squad plans for the coming season are in full swing at the women's Bundesliga club SC Sand. As the next new addition, the club can introduce the American born Nigerian Patricia George. The player, born in Chicago, Illinois, comes from BV Cloppenburg to Ortenau, where she was last active in the 2nd women's Bundesliga. Before that, she played very successfully for the Chicago Red Stars in the American “Women's Premier Soccer League” (WPSL), which is comparable to the Flyeralarm Women's Bundesliga. The 23-year-old was noticed in Sand because she can be used very flexibly. During her time in her hometown of Chicago, she worked in no fewer than four positions. Patricia George is also in danger of scoring, which will certainly be good for SC Sand in the coming season. The thoroughbred athlete can also look back on trips to other sports. In previous years she was also quite successful as a wrestler or speed skater.

Oparanozie Explains Why She Was Removed As Falcons’ Captain

Oparanozie Explains Why She Was Removed As Falcons’ Captain

Shortly after the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the captain of the Super Falcons to that tournament lost her position as the captain of the team. The team had qualified for the round of 16 for the first time in 20 years.

Questions were asked why she was changed. Now, she has given her own side of the story. It will be recalled that the coach of the side, Thomas Dennerby left the team and the NFF appointed Christopher Danjuma to take care of the team. On his first day as a coach of the team, he appointed Barcelona striker, Asisat Oshoala as the captain, a decision that raised dust and controversy. Finally, the team failed to qualify for the Olympics for the third time consecutively with Danjuma failing to qualify them for the second time

Speaking to Black Ballers podcast, Desire spoke about her challenges as the team captain. In an extensive audio made available to Bussybudies, Desire said the problem started when she demanded that the girls be paid their allowances since 2016.

“A lot of things happened, and people don’t really know what’s happening inside, they only view things from outside and all of that. Before the World Cup, actually, we were being owed from way back 2016. 2016 to 2019, that’s three years. And ever since we were owed, they kept making promises. ‘We will pay you, we will pay you’ and three years went by. So, we were like ‘you guys can’t keep promising us, we will, we will, we will. We don’t even trust you people any more. All the time we will, we will, we will. At the end of the day, I mean, we are not kids. We have families who rely on us and all of that.”

It will also be recalled that the team had a sit-in protest in France as they refused to leave their hotel rooms.

Oparanozie said that the NFF agreed to pay the team but on the condition that only those in France would be paid. As the captain, Desire insisted that players who were not in France should be paid too. According to her, the fact that some of them could not make it to the World Cup should not deny them their money. Oparanozie further said she fought for those players. The NFF later paid players in France but Desire said she protested

“No, it doesn’t work like that, it’s not fair. It is not. All the people that have share from that money that are not in this team, you should, I mean, they should receive their monies first before us that are here.

So, that was one of the problems, and they obviously didn’t like it. But knowing how they do things and all of that, If I hadn’t done it that way, those people won’t get their monies, and then they would be like ‘you people are selfish and all of that, you’ve gone to collect your monies, you didn’t even bother for us to collect ours.”

Desire said her actions made the NFF officials furious

“So, that was part of the problems and some of them swore that ‘we are not going to have this. She is, I mean, we can’t control her’ and all of that. But it is not my problem. I did what I felt was right. Even if that’s the only thing I did, I’m very happy.”

Desire said she has no regrets about fighting for the rights of players as the captain. Since then, she was not invited for the next Falcons games, they eventually failed to qualify for the Olympics

The four-time AWCON Winner and FIFA U-20 World Cup Silver Medalist was officially unveiled on Tuesday, June 30, by French club, Dijon. She left En Avant Guingamp after six years at the club, scoring 45 goals in 106 games. She had scored 6 goals in 12 games before the league ended because of the global pandemic

Official: Dijon Confirms Desire Oparanozie’s Transfer

30th June 2020

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde
Sports Writer, kick442.com Nigeria

The French side, Dijon has confirmed the transfer of Super Falcons forward, Desire Oparanozie. This was confirmed on the club’s official website and Twitter handle on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, as the club continues to strengthen its workforce ahead of the 2020/2021 season.
The Nigerian striker signed a two-year contract, kick442.com can report.

Well known in the French championship under the colors of En Avant Guingamp, Desire Oparanozie will continue her career in the Dijon jersey. The Nigerian international striker (22 goals in 35 caps) has signed on for two seasons with the Dijon.

The 26-year-old native of Owerri in Nigeria discovered European football at Lüleburgaz 39 Spor (Turkey) before evolving successively at WFC Rossiyanka (Russia), VfL Wolfsburg (Germany), Atasehir Belediyespor (Turkey), then at En Avant Guingamp since 2014. In Brittany, she donned the costume of attack leader and scored 45 goals in 106 Division 1 Arkema games.

Dijon coach, Yannick Chandioux believes that her arrival must help bring Dijon to a higher level: “Each season, she has proven that she can score. She’s used to the French League, the type of player that will help the group grow.

“In addition to her experience, the captain of the Nigerian team has many qualities to assert:”

After arriving Dijon at the beginning of the week to initiate her contract, Desire Oparanozie expressed her satisfaction: “I am happy to start a new adventure after six years in Guingamp. I am delighted to be able to discover something else. I really like this club and the coach’s speech, which has followed me for a long time, convinced me. I am very honored to sign at Dijon.”

With his selection from Nigeria, Desire Oparanozie won two African championships (2010 and 2014), as well as two African Women’s Cup of Nations (2016 and 2018).
