Foreign AffairsRe: Damage To US Air Base In Iraq Hit By Iranian Missiles (Satellite Photos) by SchmidtHammer: 1:39pm On Jan 09, 2020
AbdulHakeem44:
Too much if American movies. No country tells you their latest warfare technology, they are meant for real war. The likes of America, Iran, Russia, istreal, China, India etc don't reveal their contemporary technologies to the public like that, who does that? Whatever you hear they call latest is what has been achieved decades ago. You tell me ur strength and I know how to bring u down without much noise. You don't know warfare.
You know so much yet you do not know they carry out tests? Weapons must be tested and in contained areas. Russia and America got secret military and tactical information at the height of the cold war, how?
Movies? Just keep quiet.

Well you are very wrong first off it's not on the internet and secondly you can possibly be telling me that us defense are deployed only in mainland United States.........there are missile defense systems in all full fledged us bases........
I mean you have bases in a place where hostile members have projectiles and rockets

........nawa for you o
I shouldn't be arguing and if you insist I won't continue.
Those bases used to be American bases but were handed over to the Iraqi military some year after the gulf war and soon transferred back to the Americans to help fight ISIS. Having or even deploying a defense system is far more technical than you think. Why do you think Russia 'screams' anytime America comes up with a new defense technology concept? American defense systems are very capable, even the more modern Patriot system has been upgraded severally through several variants to make them more sophisticated. This is the same reason why Russia is developing hypersonic missiles, to evade American defense systems. Hypersonic missiles follow a far more nonconventional path than maneuverable ballistic missiles...blah blah

abeeee:
I want you to tell how you knew that the base had no defence systems
Well, for one part I'm certain that deploying a capable defense system in the region before now would cause tensions enough to even start a conflict as neighbouring rival countries would see it as a preparation of war.

Secondly, it's no secret, it's on the internet.
Foreign AffairsRe: Damage To US Air Base In Iraq Hit By Iranian Missiles (Satellite Photos) by SchmidtHammer:
No missile defense system are currently deployed in those bases, only radars which did quite a nice job warning the base before time ( those missiles are relatively slow). Deploying a defense system can be seen as a preparation for war and arouse tensions unless of course the Iraqi government makes purchase which is not quite as easy as having enough money to spend.
Pffff! Iran only successfully displayed how far they have to go to start making high precision missiles. Even Israeli defense would dust those missiles like they are no threat on a busy day. I can only imagine their midrange ballistic missiles will even be poorer in general specifications.

Please who is the father of someone born during the civil war when Hausa/Fulani/Yoruba soldiers used million of Biafran women as sex slave? What is the paternity of a child conceived through a mixture of different sperms from soldiers from different tribes?
So you celebrate rape, alleged genocide and war crimes? I've given up on your kind. I just pity your children, I can only imagine what you'll put in their heads

What the hell are you talking about? Who told you Hitler thought rocket technology was a waste? A beg, talk about things you know.
My post was not about rocket per se. I was merely pointing out the foolishness of the guy who thought Biafra would have surpassed the U.S.
I was actually talking about space (exploration) technology not rocket technology
PoliticsRe: Biafra Technology Had Solution To Nigeria’s Problems –tsav by SchmidtHammer: 4:28pm On May 12, 2019
Guestlander:
What long range missiles? Rocket technology was at the rudimentary stage at that time but the Nazi's knew the military importance and they were working to improve and weaponize it.
You are funny for asking if I knew who Von Braun was.
As much as I do not intend to derail the thread, You are wrong again! The V-2 was developed and deployed, thousands of it. The V-2 is the first rocket to ever 'peek' into space. Infact, numerous bombings were carried out in London with that same rocket. This bombings were some of the accusations that haunted Von Braun to his grave and even after his death, with the popular line "...I aim for the stars but end up hitting London" used to ridicule his claims of only developing rockets for space use. The V-2 became the base upon which more advanced rocket models were built. The Soviet Union, America and even Britain started ambitious space projects that Hitler never bothered about. Hitler knew enough about these rockets but doubted how far they could actually go just like your statement about the first Surface-to-air missile developed in Africa assumes. I'm not saying the technology was the most advanced at the time or it was anything extraordinary, I'm only saying that for a mere contraption that was assembled with improvised parts and achieve the smallest possible results, it seemed promising.
P.S America's attempt before 'operation paper clip' with all the engineers, scientist, knowledge and resources at their disposal couldn't even produce something as practical and usable as what there was here that was only produced by poor, illiterate, hungry but desperate and determined men could come up with. Arabian countries that can boast of producing rockets presently, had to send their men to acquire knowledge for that purpose. Like I said earlier, CREATIVITY makes technology usable, SCIENCE only makes it more reliable.

You don't strike me as one with much knowledge on this matter either. The problems faced by long range missiles at the time were numerous, from accuracy to weather to other challenges. Hitler knew the advantages such missiles gave to his army in wars but didn't believe sending rockets to the moon was significant to his dominance or even possible at all, that's what Wernher Von Braun thought, you know who he is?

Guestlander:
U.S have already landed on the moon at the time they were trying to make ogbunigwe which killed more Biafrans than the enemy.
space travel wasted more resources and looked to take more than it could give at the moment. Does that mean it's not worth it? And, the U.S got to space with the same project Hitler (of Germany) felt was a waste, the same technology he thought was unrealistic and unfeasible
PoliticsRe: Biafra Technology Had Solution To Nigeria’s Problems –tsav by SchmidtHammer:
Innovations and advancement in technology comes with critical wars. Mankind advanced in the shortest possible time after facing the biggest war in it's whole existence, World war II. Countries like Israel are examples of what military potentials a nation could harness when held up in siege.
In the Nigerian civil war, the Biafrans were forced to improvise and inspite of lack of resources or the ability to utilise them they tried getting results with the little could use and this, Nigerians, is the key to development of military capabilities. CREATIVITY makes technology usable not science, science only makes it RELIABLE. If only the surprising effectiveness of those crude weapons were admitted, their efforts recognised and the mindset replicated, Nigeria would well be the strongest military power in Africa.
Nowhere in Africa, I emphasize, none, that experienced a civil war were able to achieve such technical accomplishments without steady and open support with weapon supplies from foreign powers like there was in the long lost Biafra.

It's time the truth be looked straight in the eyes and be called for what it is, fact. Biases be set aside if we truly intend to move forward as a nation.

Check up from credible sources and argue with facts if you disagree
PoliticsRe: Igbo - Ijaw Rift. by SchmidtHammer:
Asari Dokubo's claim of Igbos being slaves to the Ijaws is just wild, false and not backed by any historical record or evidence.
1.) The major ethnic groups as we have today in Nigeria showed more dominance in their geographical settlement from the ages.

2.) Igbos's are and were a bigger Tribe (population size)

3.)Archeological evidence shows that Igbo's were more civilized in Art, Tool making and even had a system of writing (very rare amongst African civilisations). If his claims are to point out that the Ijaws were more advanced, then it's all a bluff.

4.) The Ijaws although had a common ancestry, history shows that they only lived in divided communities as did the Igbos (with a very few exception) and never established any kind of empire which would have considerably given them a Military advantage during raids as he claims.

5.) Igbos's practiced a kind of caste system (osu). These slaves called osu were from where?

6.) To more recent colonial times, the pathetic circumstances surrounding the story of the Jaja of opobo doesn't balance with his claims that Ijaws were business partners with the British government in slave dealings as it would have strengthened their relationship more and made them a more favoured tribe under the British administration.

7.) Who in his right mind and with a good education would associate himself to the slave dealings of his forefathers and not denounce such primitive ways in this present age?

Asari Dokubo is just as confused and Ignorant as Nnamdi Kanu, nothing that those two say should ever be taken seriously.

You sound very bitter. I understand that there are lots of miserable people in Nigeria and many reasons to be that way but try to see the positive side of things sometimes. That kind of attitude won't get you anywhere in life.

Well atleast they all desire the same thing, WORSHIP. Why would an omnipotent God require that his creation worship him? I infact do not believe I can make a 'believer' see otherwise, not with all the logical arguments he/she might have encountered with before me.
Christianity EtcRe: What If All These Things Are Really True? by SchmidtHammer: 8:30am On Mar 31, 2019
In finding the truth all possible subjects involved must be considered. What God do you speak of? What particular religion are you talking of here? There are several other religion that would boast of being the only route to God just as convincingly as you profess your own beliefs
PoliticsRe: N1.3trn Looted Funds: Jonathan's Camp Lists Corruption Cases Under Buhari by SchmidtHammer:
The previous administration failed or to pacify 'his' supporters, underperformed just like almost every other past administration in Nigeria, what makes them think they're in a position to condemn this one? Is this a case of who brought the lesser evil upon Nigerians?
Regardless, one is forced to question why the difference in development under this government is not as big as their claims. Expect counter accusations and exaggerated claims by the present administration. Nigerians deserve better.

To people like sarrki, and others that get intoxicated on unprincipled conservative politics (a.k.a Nigerian politics) and are more satisfied with local political dominance and the advantages it brings but are ignorant of the fact that it is pulling Africa backward by comparison on a much larger scale. Over the years expectations as concerns Africa diminishes and any thought of even considering the continent as a potential force to contribute to global development is subdued as it fades along with whatever glory colonisation brought here. Yet political leaders claim that the country keeps growing under their watch while they celebrate and boast of achievements that should have long been attained and ultimately, only a spec to the real size of problems that exist across sectors. These they do mainly to inflate their egos (and pockets) as they establish local political dominance, limiting Africa to the sold vision of contentment, though as second hand or third hand tasters of global advancement and modernization, futher proving her incompetence as assumed by other developed continents and countries, making us incapable of meeting up to or ever competing with the rest of the world.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Lagos Chinese Restaurant Responds To Accusations Of Racism by SchmidtHammer:
I'm not shocked at this, there have been several other reports of Chinese racist activities in African countries. The separation of Chinese from people of other colours( especially Nigerians) based on their nationality and not their skill or ability to cook Chinese meals is discrimination. The Director, and to think he's a Nigerian, is an unworthy Nigerian and black man for that matter. There are so many black men and women that feel inferior to people of other races and would go to any length to convince themselves that they aren't like the other blacks, however, it remains a personal problem and you can wallow in self hate, it's your miserable life but as long as you try to subjugate other Nigerians to your diffident mentality, it would never be tolerated. I implore that this should be taken seriously, investigated properly and necessary actions carried out to stop them before it stimulates other of such businesses and activities by racist foreigners or self hating Negroes.

Congratulations to her. It's a shame some people with very low self-esteem and probably haven't achieved anything worthwhile in their lives would somehow manage to gratify themselves with the illusion that her personal success is theirs too by associating her with tribe and bragging about it like the acheivement can be passed down to them through these claims. I'll advice that you try to do something with your life that you would be proud of.

Yoruba man caught stealing in the market.
Yoruba woman caught on video fighting blah blah blah.

No Yoruba will never open a thread with this type of topic. only Ibo's do this. You have just been exposed. Because you speak and write Yoruba doesnt make you one.
You are nothing as an individual. Your tribe, religion and state of origin doesn't give you any value as much as you hope it does. Try to preserve the dignity of your parents first because you don't sound like someone with a proper education.

That would be in an alternate universe. Face your hustle and stop thinking of things that would never be. If he grew up poor he probably might not have such a big ego. Let me give you something more positive to dream of: imagine, just imagine you were as rich as Davido.
