Long time ago i used to think parents dont bounce daughters inlaw on such flimpsy grounds until my best friend's mum bounced her to be daughter inlaw for having a 'flat behind'. In that case, the relationship ended. |
airsaylongcon:Some banks call it cash and teller. The section that pays and receives cash from customer. |
These gehs no dey act film again naa. Na picture dem dey act. |
Dats the situation we see tuday. Its in every sector of naija's economy. Despite the fact that some very brilliant guys and ladies come out from polytechnics, they are still marginalised in working places. I remember when i was in banking, i was actually taught cash tellering by a HND holder. He was quite good and was the best out of all the tellers. Yet they never upgraded him. He was on a stagnant 50k for straight 3 yrs, while BSC holders like myself went from 130 to 200 to 350 in that 3 yrs. Infact they use him to train freshers with BSC who end up becoming his boss. There are so many other people like that in different sectors. To be candid, i cant advise any friend or relative to apply fr polytechnics except the person wants to do personal business after that. Yes polytechnics give the most practical training, but out der in working environment, the graduates are terribly marginalised. |

Let me even come out straight for once. The deception on top 10 paying, top 50 paying, top 100 paying is getting too much .Since the topic is just based on SALARY, not 'best place to work' or 'most professional place to work', then i will tell you that if you are doing 'top 13 highest paid', then OIL FIRMS should be 12 i swear. I see FMCG, banks and government work as highest paid and i just cant help but laugh. If any company in nigeria is paying ENTRY LEVEL less than 6m per annum, that company should not be mentioned among 100 highest paying firms in Nigeria. NO BANKS pays entry level 6m, so banks dont come in here. I work with one of the top 5 oil exploration firms,so i can tell you about these 5 firms because we use the pay of the other 4 as benchmark to negotiate during pay review between Management and the union body PENGASSAN. I am on level 3( came in with 5 yrs working experience elsewhere)I earn 25m per annum( Net of tax azzin my alert for 12 months). Level 2 earns between 18 and 20m net of tax while level 1 ( entry level) earns between 12 and 15m net of tax. Lets forget about 4 and above. Even contract staff in this top oil firms earn between 6 to 10m per annum. In addition, there are over 30 smaller oil firms that pay a minimum of 7m to entry levels in Nigeria. I hear some people say Bank Managers earn more than some above mention oil companies. Which bank abeg? If you are talking about the profit sharing being large, pally you are talking about General Managers, Executive Directors and MD. Tell me the day you will get to that high profit sharing position if you join entry level today even in the almighty Diamond bank and Access bank. Nairaland is filled with young people hungry for financial success and better life, you dont i repeat you dont mention FMCG and BANKS as highest paying even in first 50. In tubaba's voice....DONT TRY TO DECEIVE YOUR PEOPLE. If we are talking about 'most professional place to work', or 'quickest place to get a job',then you can start mentioning FMCGs,audit firms, ict firms etc because oil firms are some of the most difficult places to get jobs. But hence its just money.... Highest paying firms, my brothers and sisters leave matters. Oil firms win am everyday. Forget falling oil prices. Salaries will never reduce... NEVER. At worst, the companies will sack and when they sack, you go home with some good cash. Some oil workers will say this boy don spoil show cos in reality, we dont talk about our pay outside. I did this just to give a pointer, so people dont get deceived and start husling civil service expecting 15m per annum ![]() God bless my hussle.........and yours ![]() |
yertyr:Maybe small small oil srvice firms. No top oil player slashes salary. At worst, they wont promote or they sack.... But slash salary? Naaah. The fear of PENGASSAN..... |
Op no just know anything. Dangote no 1. You try. Nnpc before chevron, shell and total?.. Access bank keh. Govt parastatal too ![]() Nigeria brewery and coca cola before total . Pally quit shisha, you are too old for it. The only company in your list that competes with the top 5 oil firms( chevron, exxon, shell, total and agip) is Guiness. I can tell you authoritatively that level 1 ( graduate with 0-2 yrs work experience) on the average for this top 5 oil firms is =N=10m total package. So my broda, if all these non oil firms pay entry level 10m, then your list is correct ![]() |

Nice 1 pepsi boy and mad cow. Tho i seem to go with pepsi boy more. E be like say we dey work for the same company self with werin you don talk. ' the dog symbol' is my logo. ![]() Dabriggs you funny but you said the truth about interns. Laff won kill me when i read that. I have seen both sides of the coin, 7 yrs in banking and almost 3 yrs now in oil and gas. Though i was a regular staff(full staff)in banking and senior staff( full staff) here in oil and gas, i sha knownthe treatment of outsourced staff( used loosely as contract staff). My people lets face it, outsourced staff or contract in ds loose sense are discriminated everywhere in this country. Its just that, its more in banking. Its very very obvious without asking anybody. Here in oil and gas, just like some people here rightly said. You may not know somebody is a contract staff if you dont ask. The Discrimination is in the salary. Not the job content. I work as an accountant, one assistant accountant here is a contract staff and she actually thought me the ropes when i moved from budget and controls to General Accounts. She has been here 6 yrs and is quite good on the job but i earn 8 times more than her per annum. Their contract owners cut their money so much but then their employment process is mared with connection, tribal basis and mecenaries. Unlike how i came in. Omo na two strong test and two oral interviews that saw us go from 300 persons in the first test to 9 that actually resumed in work after every. Dats it on discrimination. The pay is the issue at least from what i have seen. As per how to survive, just follow what dabriggs said. Dats how! |

funny enough my ex planned my wedding. She had gotten married 4 yrs earlier. All my friends were like ' scobaba you dey take risk oo' i said ' no, if she neva marry na in e for hard'. My wife did not show her disapproval to me but confided in my sister that shes not cool with the plans. Sis is still a very good friend of ex so told wifey... Naah ...nutyn dey happen ![]() |
