Web Hosting Plan Features

Undeniably, every venture involving money has pricing as a vital determinant. Hosting price is a significant factor in determining which hosting company in Nigeria, or outside the country, to go with. In the web hosting industry, the dogma, “what you pay is what you get” doesn’t strictly apply. You’ll encounter companies that charge massive amounts for low-quality services and others (like us) who specialize in proving affordable hosting plans without compromising the features, support and service quality. With this fact established, you’ll agree with us that pricing shouldn’t be on top of your mind if you’re looking for the best for your website. You should look for a company that meets your requirements and standards, after which you can consider the pricing. As an understanding hosting provider, we’re one of the most affordable web host companies in Lagos and entire Nigeria.

Reliability

Getting a web host you can rely on for all your web hosting needs is crucial if you’re to get the satisfaction you deserve. Your business takes your time enough, and you don’t need another stress to disturb you in the form of unreliable web hosting for your website. If you’re to trust your web hosting provider, you need to be assured of the maximum uptime achievable. A lot of companies are fast in advertising the services they offer but are incompetent in providing the actual service required of them. To get the best, you need to be watchful of this scenario. One of the best ways of knowing the reliability and service quality of a company is through the next point we’ll discuss, “reviews.”

Reviews

Reading reviews of web hosting providers such as ours is an excellent way of assessing the unbiased opinion of the current users of the provider’s services. Reviews can be a great way of understanding what the provider offers and what you’re going into. In some instances, some odd disgruntled customer can leave unmerited reviews; however, by reading and understanding the intent behind all reviews, you should get a crystal picture of reviews to e trusted and those not to be trusted. You can check out our reviews and testimonials.

Shareholders commend Transcorp for Industry Leading Role in Improving Access to Electricity in Nigeria

Shareholders of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (Transcorp) strongly commended the Board and management for Transcorp’s impressive contribution to transforming the Nigerian power sector, through its power subsidiary, Transcorp Power. The commendations were received at the 12th Annual General Meeting of Transcorp, held on April 30th, 2018, at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. The shareholders were responding to Transcorp’s exceptional feat of increasing the available capacity of its power generation plant from 160MW, when acquired in 2013, to 701MW by November 2017, surpassing the demanding performance target of 670MW by August 2018, set for Transcorp by the Bureau for Public Enterprises in 2013.

Through its consistent performance, Transcorp has led the power industry in delivering a sustained increase in available and generated capacity in Nigeria, consistently leading the power generation sector in Nigeria, in terms of capacity and with an impeccable health and safety record. Transcorp continues to be the backbone for improved access to electricity across Nigeria, and this was emphasised by the National President, Association for the Advancement Rights Nigerian Shareholders, Dr. Faruk Umar, who expressed appreciation for the commendable performance of the company.

Powering Africa’s Transformation

Africa has a bright future ahead of it. Productivity and growth will improve as African economies continue to place more emphasis on services and manufacturing, pursue commodity production, and achieve quick gains in agriculture and light industry.

But African countries’ success presupposes that they generate and manage energy sustainably to keep up with increasing demand. In the next 35 years, Africa’s population will continue to rise, with a projected 800 million people across the continent moving to cities. And Africans are already disproportionately exposed to the adverse effects of climate change, even though they are collectively responsible for less than 4% of global greenhouse-gas emissions.

Urban areas will have to reduce environmental stresses by promoting low-carbon energy systems, electric mass transportation, and energy-efficiency initiatives, as well as the use of cleaner cooking fuels. And rural areas can create new opportunities that reduce the need for urban migration, by expanding renewable energy systems and energy access.

Transcorp Power Partners with Covenant University and ENGIE on Solar Energy Generation

Transcorp Power Limited has taken the alternative energy discussion a step further by partnering with ENGIE Group and Covenant University to explore solar energy generation and utilisation in Nigeria. This event took place at the official visit of Transcorp and ENGIE Group on “Interactive Engagement for Solar Power Generation & Utilisation” at the Covenant University on February 10th, 2017.

With a long-term goal of generating at least 25% of Nigeria’s total power, Transcorp Power Limited has long discussed alternative power sources as a solution to Nigeria’s power supply issues. Therefore, it was a great opportunity to collaborate with an institution focused on academic and research excellence, Covenant University, and a leading enterprise in alternative energy, ENGIE, in finding ways to adopt solar energy as an alternative source of energy in Nigeria.

Present at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Transcorp Power Limited, Mr Kalyana Sundaram expressed the company’s commitment to improving the state of the power sector in Nigeria. He said, “Successful integration of solar as a viable power option for Nigerians would lower the burden on a strained national grid, improve the standard of living and boost socio-economic development. This is indeed a good development for the power sector in Nigeria”.

Africapitalism: Empowering People Works Much Better Than Giving Them Aid

I’ve long questioned the traditional approach to development where donors and governments invest in basic health, education, and access to food in developing countries, with the hope that the beneficiaries will eventually become self-sufficient.

While all assistance is to be acknowledged and appreciated, we need to rethink the ways in which we help others. We must revisit our definition of development and the tools we employ to achieve it.

If we support people in a more sustainable way – by increasing access to economic opportunities – they can afford to pay for those same basic goods and services that governments and donors sometimes struggle to provide. We need to give from the perspective of empowering the recipient rather than making them dependent. When we invest in jobs and economic opportunity, beneficiaries will lift themselves out of poverty. This approach fosters the spirit of enterprise and decent work and will preserve dignity and reinforce self-reliance. It also enhances social stability because minds are constructively engaged. I call this approach Africapitalism.

The Power Sector In Nigeria

Power supply is a critical part in an industrial system and machine. The selection of the power supply will determine the efficiency and reliability of the system. Transcorp Power is one of the most effective power supply systems in Nigeria, asides from the 12 states, which host power stations that generate the power used across the country, are Niger, Lagos, Ogun, Rivers, Abia, Imo, Ondo, Cross River, Bayelsa, Edo, Kogi, and Delta.

Delta State hosts the 1, 020MW Sapele power station built in 1981, 972MW Transcorp Ughelli power station reportedly built between 1966 and 1990. Transcorp took ownership of the 1000MW capacity plant in 2013 and since then, it has been generating only 160MW of power daily, back to producing at its full 972MW installed capacity. In recent times, Transcorp Power has increased its generating capacity by 525% and plans to grow it to over 3,000MW in the next five years and above. Asides from powering communities and the country at large, Transcorp power fosters the development of the leaders of tomorrow by the Transcorp education initiative which provides a good learning curve and also provides facilities for the youths of the next generation.

President Goodluck Jonathan’s commitment to ‘move Nigeria from darkness to light’ was one step closer to being realized today at the official signing ceremony held by the BPE for the winning bidders of the privatization of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).

The ceremony was held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja and was presided over by Minister of Power Professor Chinedu Nebo. In attendance were representatives from the five generating and 10 distribution companies, including Transcorp, who successfully bid for the Ughelli power plant in the Delta. The winning companies were whittled down from over 300 interested parties in a process which the Director General of the BPE Benjamin Dikki said, “matched and exceeded international best practice.”

Dikki went on to applaud the high quality of investors, saying, “All the firms that went through this rigorous privatisation process and emerged as the preferred bidders should be congratulated. Nigerians can start to smile.”

Recently, Transcorp and Engie entered into a strategic alliance for the development of solar mini grids in Nigeria. Currently, 45% of the Nigerian population have limited or no access to the national grid. The mini grids on the other hand, with a capacity of 3,000MW and annual revenue opportunity of about US$3Billion, have a huge potential to provide electricity for about 14% of the population.

The National Council on Privatisation (NCP) at its meeting today, presented Transcorp Hotels Plc with a Certificate of Discharge, indicating the company has fulfilled all privatisation conditions attached to the sale of the hotel and will no longer be subject to any post-privatisation monitoring. At a ceremony that took place at the Presidential Villa, the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo SAN GCON, who chairs the Council presented the certificate to Mr. Tony O. Speaking at the event, Mr. Alex Okoh, the Director-General, Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) stated that Transcorp excelled at achieving the KPIs established during the monitoring and evaluation of the asset. Key areas of achievement include an increase in customer base by 113%, increase in service excellence captured by an 82% decrease in customer complaints, and an increase in operational efficiency with retained earnings rising to 70% of turnover.

“The success achieved by the Hotel has evidently proven both the diligent process of implementing the privatisation programme on one hand and the commitment and professionalism of the Management Team of the Hotel on the other,” he said, adding that “The approval is sequel to the review and analysis of the outcome of our routine performance evaluation earlier conducted on the Hotel, which clearly indicates that the achievements recorded by Transcorp Hotels are in line with all the covenanted obligations embedded in the Share Sale Purchase Agreement (SSPA)”.

Transcript: Tony Elumelu’s Opening Remarks at the JETRO Japan Africa Business Forum

The Chairman of Transcorp, Tony O. Elumelu’s Opening Remarks at the JETRO Japan Africa Business Forum in Yokohama, Japan

First, I must thank Chairman Nobuhiko Sasaki of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) for organising this important event, and I specially commend his team for all the effort put into a seamless conference.

Just January this year, I hosted Mr. Ishige, the previous JETRO Chairman, in Lagos, at the United Bank for Africa (UBA) headquarters, Africa’s Global Bank.

Mr. Ishige requested that it was imperative that I attend the TICAD 7 conference to promote a new message of trade and investment between Japan and Africa, and he was absolutely right.

I stand before you as Chairman of the United Bank for Africa, Africa’s global bank with presence in 20 African countries as well as offices in the United Kingdom, France and the only Sub-Saharan African bank with deposit taking license in the United States of America.
